This was our second stay at this wonderful home and it likely wonât be our last! The house is situated perfectly for a wonderful weekend away in the whites! Close by to hiking trails, breweries, and great restaurants, and in a very quiet neighborhood! The house was clean and comfortable and all we could have asked for!
This home was very comfortable!! Loved the open floor plan and space to be able to spread out. My family had an amazing thanks giving dinner here, kitchen accommodated everything, even had a foil turkey pan awaiting my arrival!! Perfect!! My only complaint was sink drainage was very sluggish, had to wash dishes by hand because when I filled dishwasher and started it, It started quickly leaking all over floor. Other than that our stay was amazing!!! Had a great time!!
We really enjoyed the layout of the house with the open concept for multiple floors. The location was great with hiking options, Diana's Bath and Echo Lake, as well as all that North Conway has to offer. The wood stove was super cozy but it would have been nice to have been provided a bit of wood as part of the rental. With the home being situated within a hill, the yard is not really usable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
The house was great and easily found and suited all of our needs!
Bedding, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. were all very clean.
Location was great for the areas we wanted to visit.
With six in our family, room is always hard to find. We had several sleeping options and had room to spread out. This was a great location to hikes, overlooks, trails, and waterfalls. 15-20 mins from plenty of stores, shops, restaurants, and bakeries. Would definitely stay here again!
The home was very clean, bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We cooked some of our meals and found everything we needed for preparing and cooking meals.
The outside was not like the picture, couldnât sit on grass it was over grown and not mowed like the picture, something got into the previous persons trash and we had to pick up someone elseâs trash it was disgusting.i had to call and have someone come get the trash because it was full from the previous person so we couldnt put ours in there. Also on the side we had neighbors there was a mound of trash that looked like a dump,Iâm very disappointed in the quality of stay, the house was damp and humid and full of spiders, large ones,we ran out of toilet paper on Wednesday,we had to go buy our own, this is the 4th year we have done this for a week and this is by far the worst ,and when u are paying a couple thousand you would think it would be better, also alot of the dishes were dirty in the cabinets, spatula with egg or something crusted on them and I pulled a bowl out and it was all greasy on the inside bottom like butter from popcorn,we went and got paper products,I have never complained about a place we are easy going but this was terrible, the floors on the main floor are filthy, when you take a shower and then run around with no shoes and bare feet and you feet end up brown on the bottom on the first day ,thatâs terrible,I would like some of my money back ,I would never recommend this place to anyone, the pictures they put up are old and donât look like what it really is,Iâm sorry to say
The home was as shown. We had a great stay. Our children loved the house and the unique lay out. Itâs in a great area locally, as well as close to popular surrounding towns. Felt like you were in your own home. Would stay again in a heart beat.
The house was cold, the heater didnât work until the last day and tvs never work. The was no gas on the grill both tanks empty. The grill was left very dirty and clean it to cook to find out the was no gas to cook
The house was exactly what we needed for a white mountain vacation for our kids and dogs. However, the Vacasa management was awful! The previous renters left trash on the patio. I had multiple text communications with Vacasa saying they were coming to clean it up, but never came. As a result, we could not use the outside area and BEARS were on the patio in the trash. Huge safety issue for us.
Also, the listing states there are 2 single beds and two double beds in second bedroom. This is not accurate. The second double is up in the loft/balcony area and is a futon. It is pretty loud if that person wants to sleep.
The house itself is cute - great location but it was infested with large black ants, had an awful cat urine smell in the bedroom as well as dirty linens on the bed. The pillows smelled awful and the quilt on the bed in the main bedroom has definitely not been washed in a very long time. The bedding was so uncleanly and grotesque that we went out and spent our own money on new bedding. The smell of moth balls was so strong it gave us a headache. The old throw pillows smelled like dust. The main TV not only didnât work but the remotes were missing batteries - we had to borrow some from the other remotes, come to find out those were missing batteries as well .. even after putting in new batteries the TV still did not work.
We were happy to be able to have our pup with us but there was absolutely NO yard or place to take your pup out, we ended up just taking her across the street in the woods to do her business since that was the only place. NO ac caused the smell of pet urine from past guests to linger. I could go on and on about all that was wrong with this place but the location and our determination to make our trip worth while didnât let this place get us down. Highly recommend giving this place a HEAVY DUTY deep clean, as well as het an exterminator out for the infestation of ants, as well as replace all the old bedding and pillows
The moment we opened the door, we were overwhelmed by the smell of carpet cleaner/deodorizer (not sure which). My husband said that the scent appeared to be an attempt to mask an odor such as underlying vomit or pet accident odor. We immediately opened all windows that had screens. Later that evening the carpet cleaner/deodorizer smell was gone but the smell of pet urine was tremendously strong. Since we have cats, we both thought it smelled similar to a litter box. The next morning we noticed that the urine smell was still there and very strong even after leaving a few windows open overnight. For the next few days we limited our time on the first floor and kept every screened window on the first floor open.
I hope the next guest do not have the same experience. We love our dog and we brought her hiking, tubing and ATV riding with us so we truly appreciate homes that allow pets.
The home is really cool and we really love the layout. We are thankful that the owners allow dogs and that there is a third floor which has a sitting room so were able to watch television but eating and working from the kitchen table was extremely unpleasant and ruined our otherwise great stay. Since we only used one bedroom and left the place very clean, we hope that gives the cleaning person(s) more time to steam clean the rug on the first floor.
I would suggest maybe tile on the entire first floor with indoor/outdoor rugs and a gate to avoid this happening again.
The location is great and overall the stay was good. There were a few things that could be improved:
1) there were some lights that need new bulbs
2) the washing machine doesnât work properly and you need to manually switch to the ârinse/spinâ cycle so it will just keep washing for hours, which can ruin some clothes
3) cleanliness was good but not great. We vacuumed a few times but, as a pet friendly home, it should be mopped more thoroughly (we also mopped ourselves).
4) the trash from the previous stay wasnât picked up and the can was full, forcing us to keep the trash in the mud room. This wasnât a huge issue but after a few days the smell wasnât great. We texted Vacasa to get this sorted and even after being assured someone would empty the trash can, no one came.
That said, the stay was comfortable and the kitchen was had some essentials like spices, the knives sharp (thatâs always important for those who cook!), and being pet friendly was a big benefit.
