A mountain paradise! A touch rustic but a perfect family friendly option for myself and three teenage boys. Dog friendly - a huge bonus! Just a short drive from Jackson, the river, and Pinkham Notch AMC Visitor Center. We will definitely be back.
My husband, dog and I had 2 magical nights and days at this beautiful cabin. We enjoyed walking the surrounding trails, sitting by the warm wood stove and preparing meals in the kitchen.
My family had an amazing weekend. The cabin , property and location are all perfect. George was also quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. We are already trying to plan a time to go back.
We loved sitting in the yard listening to the nearby stream while grilling dinner. Thank you for sharing this little slice of heaven and for being dog friendly â€ïž đ
Great trip! My family and I spent our Thanksgiving at the cabin and it was amazing. Everything was perfect and our host was spectacular. We will be back again.
Our family has been coming here for years and we absolutely love it. Our youngest was 7 when we first came and now he is 22! Relax with a book, go for a hike, go for a run or xc ski on the nearby trails, fall asleep in the grass, cook up a good meal, enjoy each otherâs company without tv or constant internet distractions. Itâs cabin living as it should be. George could teach a masterclass on being the best owner for renters; heâs truly one of our favorite people ever.
Great location, private yet close to many activities for our child and dog friendly stay. George is a great host and our communications throughout were fantastic.
We had a great stay at Georgeâs cabin. It was remote but still close to town. Check in was super easy. The cabin was clean and the wood stove was going upon our arrival. George was friendly and available for anything needed. I would stay again!
I had the most magical birthday in this cabin in the White Mountains, surrounded by the fall colors. My husband and my kitty also loved it. Thanks George!
This is the perfect small cabin in the woods! Up a dead end road where the forest trails (ski and hike) begin. For folks who like nature and a calming place. The owner was always available by text and most helpful. It is heated by woodstove 80%, has good cell phone reception, lots of dvds. Center of Jackson with good restaurants 6 min. away. We are planning to return.
My family and I enjoyed our short stay at the cabin. It was peaceful, clean and relaxing environment! George was very communicative especially helpful with guidance in the area and hosting. There are additional costs for the cabin to use linens and trash pickup. I appreciate he offered us the opportunity to take our own linens, towels and dispose of our trash to save on costs. I also had some transportation issues on my side getting there and George was flexible. Nice memories in New Hampshire thanks to the cozy cabin!
I would give this property 10 stars if I could. It was the cleanest rental home I have ever stayed in, plus a lot of small touches that made us feel very at home. George was over the top sweet and wonderful - had helpful tips, answered any questions I had immediately and tons of good advice about the area. The location was perfect. We will DEFINITELY be back!
Very helpful host as needed. Gorgeous log home and facilities, including very nice wood burning stove and supply of wood. Bring towels and linens if you don't want to be charged extra $25. Be prepared to haul out your trash unless you want to pay an extra $25
The definition of serenity. A perfect full size cabin nestled in the woods on the side of a mountain that is as far away as you can be without having to go far away. Our family visited in February for a snow-cation and we werenât disappointed at all. George, the owner, was very responsive and provided a wealth of recommendations for local amenities and activities. The cabin had all we needed. We even spent two days just in the cabin itself relaxing, reading by the fire, and playing board games. An escape from reality our family desperately needed. I am certain that we will make our way back to â Thistle Rock!â
The cabin was absolutely beautiful. Perfectly clean and well organized. The location couldn't be more perfect as it is 10 minutes away from Storyland, Living Shores Aquarium and Jackson Falls. We were traveling with an infant and he had so much fun and loved playing in the front yard pushing his lawn mower up and down the hill! We loved the fact that the cabin was extremely dog friendly and our dog could travel with us. George was very accommodating and very responsive to all of the text messages. We will be coming back and going to Santa's village next time! Thanks again, Alice and George!
Do not hesitate to rent this place! It has the feel of a remote mountain cabin and is a real Jackson, NH experience. You also have all the amenities and more for comfort. The place is right next to ski trails and National Forest. There is plenty of cool local history to explore in his place as well.
George is an amazing communicator and is a conscientious host who genuinely cares about his guests and their experience at Thistlerock. His caretaker Alice does a great job preparing the place for your visit. Do not hesitate to give it a try. Also...Thanks for sharing your place to others!
I live on the coast of Massachusetts but spend as much time as possible in Jackson. In the future I hope to retire to the mountains.I love the outdoors and all this area has to offer. I first came to Jackson as a boy to visit my uncle who owned the original home that was here. I would dream all winter of trout, hiking, exploring, and wild raspberries. I was fortunate enough to purchase the property years later. The original house burned down but out of the ashes came a new beginning. You can stay at cabin and immerse yourselves in the forest and not see a soul or head out to the village and beyond to civilization.
If you like the sweet smell of balsams (Christmas Trees), the mountains/ outdoors, and privacy this is it. When I arrive in Jackson I have no need to leave town its all here. Sitting in the brook on a July afternoon is heaven. There is also an outdoor shower to die for and no need for a curtain. A good book in the afternoon with all the windows open, and a mountain breeze -u need nothing else.I designed this cabin to meet all of the needs that make this place special.
The mountains are the home also to many different species of wildlife. I believe I have seen most pass through my property-moose,deer,bobcat,coyote,bear,porcupine just to name a few. The variety of birds are too numerous to count. They fill the forest with beautiful music from dawn to dusk. Speaking of nightfall you can reach out and touch the stars. The rivers are stocked but native trout exist also. I am not a golfer but the 2 courses are challenging and open to the public.
