We stayed over Thxgvng, had family members in diff areas and this was ~mid point. Lots of room and well equipped, had lots of visitors bbq,s w a fire pit after. Lived the nature, cows, deer, birds, gator, and next to the park. House can use a little work but nothing to dissuade us from staying again. Location is rural so bring what you need or you will have a bit of a drive for supplies. We like the country so we enjoyed our stay very much. Owners nearby and checked if we needed anything during week. Thanks!
There was so much to explore on the property. So many swings to enjoy, they had a pond for fishing, creek super close. And lots of biking and hiking trails. We are definitely coming back with more familyâs next time.
This was our second stay at this property and it was as good of an experience as we remember. This time, we caught several fish in the pond and there is now a resident donkey that is hanging out with this cows. Great for the kids!
Great spot with lots of outdoors seating for watching all the birds and animals around. Excellent for nature lovers. Hosts were quick to respond and communicate.

Unique Getaway Experience
Great location and beautiful property. I would have preferred contact-less check-in with a lockbox, but owners were very responsive and nice. House had great spaces to hang out and offers some great views of their property, especially in the early mornings. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was great. Lots of bugs to be found in the house, mostly due to the natural location, however several spider webs and dead bugs could be found in corners and under beads which just means there wasn't as much attention taken to sweeping/mopping. This included a dirt dauber nest inside of one of the antique dressers in the kitchen. However, for the most part the house felt clean and the area around the house was well mowed.
Outside, there were a lot of wasp nests along the balconies and first floor which really could use some removing to make it safer. We also noticed several buckets with stagnet mosquito water around the property near the house. Be aware that there is a very large drop-off near the parking area so need to be extra careful there with kiddos. With that said, the owner did make it a point to expect the bugs, but I think a little more attention placed on removing wasps and stagnant water would make the stay much more comfortable.
Lastly, my biggest issue with the house was that every room had access to a balcony, yet none of the doors had any top lock or keyed deadbolts to make it child safe. Our son was able to unlock and go outside to the 2nd/3rd floor balcony in seconds. This worried us so much that we ended up just sleeping up stairs near him. This would be an easy fix and really help give parents a better night's rest with this addition.
Overall, we had a great time, and expected some of the above issues, so it didn't ruin our stay. The property offered great views and an easy getaway.
The property is beautiful and very peaceful. The place was well equiped with great decor and extemely comfortable. I really enjoyed watching the cows and baby calfs wonder about. My sister from Arizona came out for a week enjoyed her stay as well.
The location was isolated with only one other cabin on the 80 acres and very little traffic on the road. Very quiet except for the sounds of nature and cows. Exactly what we were looking for as a relaxing spring break retreat. Check in was easy, but not contact free, something I didn't mind before COVID, but now would prefer to know that ahead of time. The bridge in the pictures has been taken down and is being rebuilt. Supposed to be done in the next couple of months, but construction caused very little inconvenience. The owners were super nice and responsive. The many patios, decks, chairs, hammocks, shade/sun, firepit all pictured provided many options for relaxation and views! 10 y/o son loved the many swing options. I enjoyed listening to the frogs in the pond (although was a little nervous about what else was out there after dark đ). 14 y/o daughter wasn't thrilled with wireless speed so may not be perfect for a working weekend, but if you want to disconnect from devices this is the place! And streaming on TV or watching cable was not impacted at all by wireless speeds.
Location was close enough to Sugarland and Houston to enjoy good food or grocery shop to cook inside or on the couple of outdoor grill options. Also close enough to the gulf for a day trip to the beach. Plus, Brazos bend state park is right next door!
Was sad to leave today and get back to real life.
We celebrated a 60th birthday of a dear friend over a long weekend and this place was the perfect backdrop for a relaxed and easy event. Breakfast with a view of wild dear and the sound of babbling water moving in the creek. And, even big kids can enjoy the swings hanging from majestic oak trees. Music, singing and laughter could be heard from the outdoor kitchen/bar and the fire pit stayed hot with the smell of oak, cherry and pine cones burning. Beautiful place inside and out with so much to enjoy!
The inside was clean and cozy, with everything you could want for a vacation in the country. The kitchen had everything for cooking and grilling. It could get chilly outside but the heating worked great. What we loved most was the outside. There was a wraparound deck, a fire pit and a patio that ran under the entire house with lots of seating areas. We took walks on the 80-acres surrounding the house, and played on the many swings hanging from a huge old pecan tree next to the house. We would love to come back again!
We had a great time enjoying nature and relaxing. The house is comfortable, clean and very pretty with beautiful views. The kids loved playing on the swings and watching the cows.
The owner, Donna, was very nice and helpful.
Make sure to bring bug spray because there are mosquitos and youâll want to enjoy the patio and views.
You may want to note that there is another house on the property. Itâs not right next to this house but there is a possibility of others being there.
This is a lovely place to get away from things and have a relaxing escape.
This place is amazing! And the owners was also amazing and understanding. I will never forget this Tree house because this is where I got married. We will be back.
This is the perfect place to feel like you are getting away from the busy world, but you are close enough to Houston for all the conveniences! Highly recommend!
With young kids, we didn't want to drive far, but also wanted wide open spaces, a deck with good views, activities some of us could do while babies napped in the house (like fishing on the property), and a fire pit for s'mores. This place has it all. We hope to go back for another visit at a cooler time in the year. Bring bug spray! It was also nice to visit Brazos Bend State Park, which is very close.
This property is conveniently close to the Houston area. The house is very well maintained and clean. The hosts were very nice and accessible. Enjoyed our stay...
Wanted to get away during covid but we were not ready for hotels/events so we decided to VRBO. Very peaceful property with exceptional views and lots of outdoor seating. Stars are easy to see on property also. Water was low while we were there and observatory closed, but interested in going back so we can add fishing and star gazing.
