Cozy cabin

Our group of 6 was overall really happy with our stay. The cabin was all we needed for a ski weekend with a short drive to Breckinridge, keystone, and copper mountain! Views were amazing. Beds were comfortable, showers were hot!

Short stay

Perfect for a short stay. The place is on a third floor without elevator so it can be a challenge if you are not used to the altitude. Once on the property the views are great. The place is somewhat outdated but it was good enough for our trip and in a great location from all ski mountains.

Beautiful view

This unit has an incredible view, which was why it was booked by us. We even saw a mother and baby moose our last morning at the property. While the walk up to the 3rd floor is hard for some, it did provide the view.

Nice ski rental

Cute place and perfect for our needs. We were there for a couple days of skiing and it was a great location to get all around Summit county. This is a rental property and decently maintained. Would we donut again? Yes.

Not what we expected

The shower leaked all night so I couldn’t sleep. The pool and the hot tub were both broken. Hot tub was one of the only reasons we decided to stay at the Place. Even a heads up that they didn’t work would have been nice

Short Ski Getaway

Overall, this worked out exactly as we hoped that it would. We needed a place to stay for one night for an extended family ski weekend. There were plenty of beds to go around for adults and kids. When we checked in, it was apparent that the condo hadn't been cleaned. It took a little while, but once we contacted the property manager they got the cleaner out to take care of it and that caused us no more problems. I give them credit for their responsiveness to taking care of the problem. Bottom line, I would definitely stay here again.

Priceless Views

The views of all the mountains were breathtaking. The condo offered plenty of room, and the covered parking right by the door was nice. The condo had almost everything you need for a lengthy stay. The condo is dated and could use updating in areas and had a few stains on the carpet, but overall the visit was good. Unfortunately, the HOA was doing maintenance in the clubhouse and we could not have use of the pool and hot tub which was one of my filters on choosing the place. Warning if you can't climb 48 steps possibly several times a day, you might not select this condo. We knew it ahead of time, but it was tough, harder than hiking in the snow.

Fabulous view!

We very much enjoyed staying here, especially because of the fabulous view. As others have warned, you will get quite a workout on the stairs. It was worth it for us! Be aware that the covered parking might not work for you if you have a tall vehicle, such as a truck with a camper shell. We were still able to park, but had to walk farther on some snow and ice, and I wonder if those spots fill up on a busy weekend, especially when there's a lot of snow. There's a hairpin turn on a hill to get down to the parking, and that turn was icy. You really might need the 4WD that the listing advises. If you get to stay here, take advantage of the network of nearby beautiful hiking or snowshoeing trails. A short distance farther up Ryan Gulch Rd are trailheads for Lily Pad Lake and Buffalo Mountain. There are other trail access points lower down on Ryan Gulch Rd.

This property is trashy

The property is run down and poorly maintained. On first impression we saw that the grounds were poorly maintained with broken furniture scattered in the snowbanks. When entering the property, a strong stench filled the hallways that seemed to linger the entire week of our stay. The condo was filthy, like it had not been cleaned from the past renters. There were not enough pots and pans to cook a single meal (we had to go to Target to purchase pots and pans and spoons!). The carpeting was stained and dirty. The walls had food splattered all over them. Some of the furniture was broken including lamps, chairs, and fans. The wi-fi was not working for the first 3 days of our stay. There were exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. The bathroom fans didn't work. The beds are horrible! The furnishings looked like they were picked up off the side of the road, or from the goodwill. The place is just gross! We had to clean all of the counters, tables, and sweep the floors before we felt comfortable. All of the baseboards were dirty. All of the extra bedding was piled into the closets on top of dirty fans and the vacuum cleaner, that looked like it hadn't been used in a long time. If you are looking for a vacation rental, I suggest that you keep looking and avoid this property. There are other places to stay, and they will be much better maintained and taken care of. Stay away from this property!

I called twice that night and no one EVER returned my call. I called and told Vacasa that I did not stay there and where the keys were. I will dispute this charge

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful view of mountains. Condo was warm during the day but would cool off at night. Needed fan. Appears larger than it really is in picture. Carpet needs replacing. No ventilation for cooking. Smelled like bacon grease when we arrived and lingered for 2 days. Refrigerator leaked water. Pool and hot tub were close by and convenient. Great location to Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain and Frisco.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in the Silverthorne area before during ski season. Easily accessible - many services nearby. The unit is accessible via several flights of stairs - totals 50 steps. Not ideal if you are coming and going frequently or schlepping several pieces of luggage or find stairs difficult to navigate. The exterior of the building is showing significant deferred maintenance and the unit could benefit from new carpet throughout and better mattresses especially on the twin beds.

Hello Carrie, thank you for taking time to review your stay at Buffalo Ridge. We do advertise the home being on the third floor, but we will try to make it even clearer. Unfortunately the exterior of the building is outside of our control as this is a condo building and the HOA is not managed by Wildernest Vacation Rentals. We did let the homeowners know the carpet needs to be replaced with some type of hard flooring and better mattresses are recommended for the twins.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view was lovely, the location was perfect. We had NO WORKING TV THE ENTIRE 5 DAYS. Management was contacted 4 times and they said they would look at it, never happened. The master shower dripped loudly the entire stay, the blinds were broken and the ice maker did not work and dripped into the refrigerator. Management did not follow up as promised. Would not stay here again. Staff was helpful but said they never heard back from management.

Hello Curtis, we worked with the homeowner and Resort Internet on Sunday (12/30/18) for some time and finally got an appointment for the installation of the new cable box for Wednesday (1/2/19) . The HOA managers organized an internet upgrade that took place at this complex in October however, this unit was skipped over for some unknown reason. We were unaware of the issue until you reported it. Buffalo Ridge 305E has television now, we apologized during your stay but we did everything we could to expedite the process. We did inform you that Resort Internet would have to resolve the issue. The master bathroom shower head is being fixed by Repair and Maintenance now. The ice maker should not be initiated and that's why there are ice cube trays in the freezer. The blinds are also being replaced today. Regards, Wildernest
