We had a great time and appreciated the clean home with great instructions! As a heads up, there is a keurig rather than coffee pot for any coffee lovers.
We stayed at this home during a church conference with some out of state friends. It was so peaceful, clean and comfortable, and a perfect place for us to be close to Cedarville University and have a place that was close to recharge during the day and reconnect with our friends in the evening. Thank you!
The house was comfortable and well appointed with plenty of dishes, bedding, extra pillows... Photos represented the house accurately. Beautiful wooded property, felt very secluded and quiet. Plenty of parking. Close to parks for hiking and close to Yellow Springs town for drinks and dinner. Rich was always quick to answer any questions and made everything easy.
Great location, great house and property, great host, with all the amenities for someone looking for a secluded stay minutes away from Yellow Springs and Cedarville. We will be returning to this property in the near future!
Beautiful property with plenty of amenities. The house was clean and have everything we needed for an enjoyable getaway. The location is perfect: minutes to Yellow Springs, and a 10 minutes to Cedarville to the south and Springfield to the north.
We spent a long weekend here and simply loved it. The house is on a quiet street. It is well stocked, including lots of towels and mugs. The beds were comfortable. We found the house very clean too. It is close, like 5 minute drive, to Yellow Springs. Clifton Mills is even closer. We would stay here again. Thanks for having us.
We three girlfriends, in our 50s, had an absolutely marvelous weekend together at the Apalaca chalet! The property was very clean, private, well-maintained, well-stocked (thank you for the coffee!) and spacious. We enjoyed shopping and restaurants in the Village of Yellow Springs, hiking in Glen Helen, and talking late into the evening at the residence. We all slept comfortably. Bonus: Two gigantic wild turkeys visited the property each of our two mornings! They were remarkable. We definitely recommend this property.
Spectacular, quiet chalet with beautiful views of nature
Rich was very accommodating. The home was beautiful with updated bathrooms and kitchen. Large space in the living room to relax and nature watch from the windows.
Beds were comfy, bathrooms were spotless. We had everything we needed to make this a perfect place to stay for my sons wedding which was in yellow springs.
I would recommend this exquisite home.
Very clean. Beautiful place. Especially indoors. Any time I had any questions the host was very helpful and quickly to respond. Yellow springs was not what I expected though. Not bad just like a different reality. Lots to do for all ages. But like nowhere I've ever seen before. The nature preserve and john Bryan state park trails are a must do.
The house is a very cool mashup of rustic and modern. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed for whipping up snacks or meals. The showers are wonderful, and there are plenty of extra towels available. The host was very nice. He even helped my frail companion from the car to the front door.
I have 3 suggestions for making the chalet even better.
1) Supply some oven mitts or potholders. I was able to use kitchen towels to remove a baking tray from the oven but potholders would have made it easier.
2) Remove all the hornet nests. A cousin came by and used the Raid supply at the chalet. For safety reasons, he waited until after dark because the hornets weren't active then. He tried zapping at least 3 of the biggest nests. It seemed to work.
3) The gas grill wasn't really an option for cooking burgers. Although it is covered, it was pretty dirty. We chose not to use it, mainly because we feared a hornet nest might be attached to it. I figured better safe than sorry.
We were definitely 99.5% thrilled with our stay. We would book again.
Beautiful property inside and out. Close to great hiking, fun in Yellow Springs. Relaxing on the decks, bird watching, morning or evening walks. We were three friends on a short reunion retreat weekend. It was just right for us. Thank you, Richard.
After having spent our day in Yellow Springs attending the festival we came back to the house and relaxed on the front porch. We attracted the bees and headed indoors to continue our relaxation on the living room furniture. The bathroom showers were super. Slept like logs once we hit the beds each night.
This property was beautiful ! It was very quiet and home was very, very nice. Couldnât ask for anything better. Will stay if in area A big thanks to Richard. The amenities were superb WONDERFUL time!
