2 bedroom, 1. 1/2 bath cottage on a naturally beautiful 1.6 acre lot, private park like setting. Lake side of the red arrow Hwy. and very near Warren Dunes State Park. Plenty of outdoor area (6+ Acres), privacy and lots of parking. Gandy Cottage has Cottage charm and beautiful wooded views.
A wonderful property to stay with our family. Every detail is thought of and incredibly clean. Great fire pit, grill station and deck to enjoy the evenings. Plenty of space inside for a family of 4. Kitchen is well stocked. Owners are friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!
This is a fine place to stay. The property is in a prime location yet very private, and the cottage has great character and charm. The owners thought of every single detail and provide bikes, plenty of firewood, beach chairs, etc. Everything works perfectly and you can tell they really care. The outdoor firepit and grill area gazebo/bar were a joy to use. So too was the outdoor shower and back deck. We look forward to returning.
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was super cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Bob and Martha were great hosts. We are hoping to stay again next year.
We visit Western Michigan every summer, and this is our second visit to Gandy Lane. It is our family's absolute favorite place to stay. Everything is truly wonderful! My kiddos can't wait to go back.
We stopped here on a family road trip and Gandy Lane was excellent. Bob met us and showed us around while we admired all the finishing touches that he built into the cottage. He also gave our grandkids tractor rides. Thank you Bob and Martha for sharing your house and generosity.
This home was perfect. Bob and Martha were very welcoming and accommodating during our stay. There was acres of land to discover, explore and adventure in. We had a great time!
We had a great stay at Martha and Bobâs cottage. This was a perfect place to stay to walk to the Dunes and the beach. There were a lot of nice options around Sawyer for local dining, and great suggestions for places to go from our hosts. We ended up walking to the Historian for a dinner one night which was great. We also took advantage of the grill at the house one evening, and made a bonfire in the fire pit.
It was all around a lovely place with lovely people and we would definitely stay again.
My husband and I spent a lovely weekend at Gandy Lane Cottage. The cottage was in a beautiful spot, just a short walk from Warren Dunes. The cottage was super comfortable. We had everything we needed and the hosts were super friendly and accomodating. The weather was warm enough that we got to spend some time on the back porch. We hope to go back soon!
The hosts were so helpful, yet unobtrusive. Storm lead to a power outage and the hosts went above and beyond to hook us up to a alternative power source.
HIghly recommend
We had a very nice stay for a long weekend near the lake. The cottage was well appointed with everything you need except food and clothes. Numerous bikes and generous beach supplies were provided. The washer and dryer came in handy after a day at the beach. The kitchen was well equipped, maybe the only thing missing was an ice cream scoop. Outside there is an outdoor kitchen with electric, running water, plus gas and charcoal grills. Gas for the grill was provided. Theres also a picnic table, numerous chairs, and a fire pit. Plentiful fire wood was provided as well along with hot dog forks and marshmallow sticks. The host lives just up the lane, was very attentive, and welcomed us to use the trails on the property for a nice nature walk, and invited our kids to use the rope swing between the two houses. The previous owner was a wood worker so there are numerous custom touches to the design and decor. The house is located on a quiet private drive but the state park, some restaurants, captain mikes amusement park, an ice cream shop and produce stand are all a short drive away.Overall this was one of our best vrbo experiences and we would definitely stay here again.
Gandy Lane Cottage was the perfect weekend retreat for our family of four with two young children. We especially enjoyed the beautiful property at night while relaxing with a bonfire. Kids loved exploring the area and riding bikes. The beach chairs and toys provided at the cottage were very much appreciated for our trip to Warren Dunes. The house was well-stocked with many amenities. Gandy Lane is immaculately clean, very well updated but still has a home-like cabin charm. Bob was very helpful and easy to reach when we had questions! We would love to visit again!
We were the first vrbo renters at Bob and Martha's cottage in the woods and we could not have been more delighted. The house was clean, freshly redone, and comfortable. Highlights included: the large elevated deck, outdoor fire pit and indoor fireplace with plenty of wood, several wooded acres with trails by a stream, walking distance from beautiful beaches and the Warren Dunes, and two kind and accommodating hosts. We hope to return again.
This cottage is a real gem amidst a sea of generic VRBO rentals. Many of the original architectural details have been preserved and highlighted by the current owners, and it's clear that a great deal of though and care has been put into all of the updates. The cottage is in an ideal location close to the Warren Dunes and plenty of great cafes and restaurants. The bikes were a great touch and much appreciated by my family.
And the owners were wonderful to communicate with. Highest recommendation.
This was my first opportunity to experience the Lake Michigan area. Actually my first time to Michigan and it did not disappoint. Bob and Martha were very kind and communicated with me as soon as I booked their cute little cottage. It was close to many nice little places, some of which was closed due to the off season. We really just wanted a weekend to relax and go see the beach a few minutes away and it was exactly what we needed. The cottage was cute and clean and the walking trails were very relaxing as well. You will be thinking of your next trip back here just as we are. Thank you again!!
What a wonderful spot to stay for our trip to Sawyer for a nearby wedding! Bob and Martha were a delight to work with. Bob kindly stopped by to fill us in on the frisbee golf and rope swing on their neighboring property that my kids both delighted in using, and we loved the fresh tomatoes he shared from their garden! Warren Beach is just minutes away, as are so many neighboring towns with great spots to eat & drink...Oaks Eatery and Luisa's Swedish Bakery both being highlights for breakfast. The kids (and adults) had a blast playing Ms. Pac Man in the basement. The house was neat and comfy, and we all really loved the unique design of the wood kitchen table! We had a morning visit from some deer, and enjoyed having coffee out on the back deck, surrounded by trees. We didn't get a chance to try the firepit or use the bikes unfortunately, but loved that they were available...I wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend.
The cottage is well suited for a stay of a few nights. Two bedrooms on the main floor. I believe one of the couches would have folded out to a bed if we needed it to.Kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom are all modern. TVs in each bedroom, and a large TV downstairs. The Miss Pacman game was a fun addition to the trip. There was a multitude of things to utilize at the cottage if you had an extended stay. Board games, books, bikes, an outdoor grill, washing machine and dryer. The cottage is probably a 5 minute drive from Warren Dunes State park. We ended up walking on the beach there a couple times.Owners were attentive, and answered calls or emails quickly. All in all, a nice place to stay for a few days, and we would consider staying there again.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here! Everything was wonderful from check-in to check-out. Bob and Martha are wonderful people and make sure everyone's stay is great. We hated to leave, but already planning to stay here again next time!
Family is familiar with SW Michigan and have stayed all up and down the coast. Sawyer is probably our favorite town and the Gandy Lane cottage was perfect. Amazing property, remote feel, great amenities, helpful owners and biking distance to the beach! Would definitely stay again.
Really nice little cabin. We were a family of 4. The main bedroom has its own powder room, and then there is another bedroom with a queen bed. The shower in the larger bathroom has great water pressure. Thereâs also a shower in the basement for rinsing off although youâd have to think ahead to keep the basement door unlocked if you want to avoid trekking sand through the house. There was also a nice large gathering/reading room with comfy couches and chairs. The basement has a futon and a pac man arcade game. Kitchen had pretty much everything needed. Fresh eggs on property as well! The outdoor space is also very nice for grilling and sitting outside with a fire. We walked to the Pheasant Pantry place for coffee and pastries, our kids loved the big tree swing, the beach is minutes away ($11 for non-residents cash only) and there is a place go-karts and an arcade nearby as well.
We so enjoyed our stay for a Fall gals weekend! Great location close to Sawyer and Warren Dunes. Property was so nice and peaceful and Bob gave great suggestions for places to visit. Enjoyed using the bikes to get to the dunes
We love Harbor Country and all it has to offer. Our property is very special and we know you will love visiting. We have been in the area for a couple years but have spent our lives visiting the area.
