Very clean. Lots of things provided for the kitchen and bathrooms. Perfect for 6 people and convenient to all breweries yet also very private with great views!
We loved everything about this home! It was comfortable and roomy. The view of the mountains, wildlife, and peaceful sounds of nature while sitting for hours on the wraparound porch made it the perfect mountain getaway.
Great house that is in a very peaceful location! The owner was on top of all of our questions. Our dog loved watching all of the wildlife from the porch.
This is our second time staying at this property. Itâs super clean, comes with a lot of amenities and is super close to a great BBQ place, honey bar, wineries and breweries. Property manager has great communication, and we just love the space! Plus a fenced in backyard is perfect for our pups!
Have to say one of the most relaxing places to set up base camp. The house, the surroundings, the views of the distant mountains with its ever evolving skyline was such a treat. First night there it poured down rain but with the wraparound porches it was such a delight to listen to the rain and the rustle of the leaves. Maria and I so look forward to our next trip there.
We booked this house to attend my daughters graduation from liberty university. While the distance from the university wasn't convenient the house was great. My wife loved reading in the rocking chair on the wrap around porch. Great Mountain View!
We booked this house for our family for UVA's graduation weekend. My daughter was receiving her PhD, so we were looking for a quiet out of the way place for an all adult family of 5. This house did not disappoint! There was room for everyone to have their own space and for us to come together.
It was easy to get to campus, breweries and wineries.
The wraparound covered porch was great for the rainy night and the firepit was perfect for the clear nights!
Communication with Bruce couldn't have been any easier!
I would definitely recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!
Very spacious. Modern kitchen and bathrooms. We loved that we could sleep upstairs and our children and their twins could sleep downstairs. Downstairs was awesome. Almost like a complete apartment style with spacious living room, bedroom with additional area for pack n play for sleeping and full bath. Access to the outside was such a great thing for them not having to carry everything upstairs to exit. Views were beautiful and close to hiking breweries. Would definitely stay here again.
We brought our dogs and took advantage of the 25 acres for morning walks. The location was quite convenient to Wintergreen for skiing. The house was very spacious, and the teens claimed the downstairs as their own. Bruce was a great host!
House was exactly as advertised and was very clean! House was perfect for our family trip. Perfect house close to Charlottesville, wineries, breweries and Cideries! Bruce was very responsive and provided some excellent recommendations as well!
You could not ask for a better view! Incredible mountain views with plenty of space for our dogs to run around! House is beautiful with a great kitchen and wrap around porches. So private yet so close to the famous Nelson 151 road with loads of wineries, cideries and breweries. Neighboring areas worth driving to were Staunton, Charlottesville, Crozet and North Garden. You will feel like you are driving in a painting! Wonderful place to relax and unwind. Host was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back!
Perfect for our traveling party of 8 adults. The kitchen/living room open floor plan provided plenty of space to move about. Wooded lot offered lots of peace and quiet as well as a number of walking trails for hiking. Fire pit area had plenty of seating for us all. Spectacular views of the surrounding mountains especially from the upper level porch which wraps entirely around the house. Highly recommended.
The pictures donât do this house justice. Itâs gorgeous, spacious and sits on private property. Everything was clean and easily accessible. I would definitely stay again.
Great reunion with family in the VA mountains. Lovely setting and house for a family reunion away from the winds of âIanâ. Wonderful time, a new favorite.
We live in Richmond, and I'm a professor at VCU. We had been going to our Afton retreat frequently when our two boys were home. We all enjoy the mountain views, the hiking and the other fun activities in the area. My wife changed jobs and is now less able to get away on weekends as a result. So renting our place became the obvious way to afford to be able to keep our cherished place in the family and to use it on occasion when not rented, and we are free.
As you can see from the reviews and photos, the house is close to many outdoor activities such as hiking, and fun amenities such as wineries, breweries and restaurants are nearby. But the property itself is on a very scenic and beautiful wooded 25 acres.
