Attractive ground floor apartment with shared patio leading directly onto one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches on the West Coast with excellent swimming and snorkeling in crystal clear water. Comprising 2 air conditioned bedrooms with powerful en suite showers. The main feature of the apartment is its inside/outside living with beautiful views of the Caribbean, especially at sunset. There are several excellent restaurants nearby and the local shopping centre and supermarket is within easy reach. You are 1.5km away from Sandy Lane and its world class golf facilities and watersports, fishing etc are virtually on your doorstep if you require. The apartment has ifibre optic nternet access and on site security. Little Reef is well situated for multiple activities. Directly on a very beautiful beach there is snorkelling on the reef a short swim out from the shore. Boat activities are on offer from passing operators on the way to the big resorts past Sandy Lane. Fishermen bring in the catch in Fitts Village five minutes down the beach. Jordan's Supermarket is five minutes walk along the beach and there are restaurants within easy reach by foot or car. There are no high rise blocks of apartments, no fast food outlets nearby but local food restaurants are within walking distance. if you want to shop, need a Bank a good meal or a pizza, even a bit of night life, Holetown is fifteen minutes away by bus or car and Bridgetown and the South Coast around twenty minutes by car and the busses pass regularly! If you just want to sit and do nothing but soak up the sun Little Reef has a lovely patio with an ambiance all it's own . The sunsets are very often spectacular and to sip a cool drink watching the boats go by is truly the most relaxing and stress free activity of them all. We just want you to enjoy the experience!
Lovely property, has all you need and the position right on the beach is stunning. It is so nice to be able to hear the waves wherever you are in the property. It was a privilege to stay in your apartment, Michael and Grantley were a pleasure to meet.Thank you.
Step out of the patio door, down some steps and onto the beach and the massive swimming pool called the sea. Beautiful view with palm trees. Very well presented apartment. On the road to Bridgetown and Holetown. Plenty of buses throughout the day. Location ideal away from Hussle and bussle. Supermarket 5 mins walk. Wendy's Sports Bar 3 mins walk. Michael and Grantly look after the running of the place and a phone call away if help needed. Plenty of utensils, glasses, towels. Washing machine with a very fast cycle. TV good entertainment too. Weather warm, sunny/cloudy and a cool sea breeze. Some information of the area and what to do present. Security of property with locks good and good night time lighting. Lovely sound of the sea hitting the shore and top air con and ceiling fans available. Lovely sun sets too virtually every day.Really glad we finally got to visit this piece of Paradise. We would stay here again! Well done and thank you Sally
My 21-year-old daughter and I recently spent a magical week in Barbados, staying at Little Reef for the second straight year. This charming beachfront apartment is situated in the welcoming neighbourhood of Fitts Village on the west coast (also called the Gold or Platinum Coast). This region is essentially a one-stop shop for just about everything youâll need or want during your stay. There are numerous restaurants (including our favourite, La Cabane), a grocery store (Jordanâs), and a fish market. If you enjoy fish grilled on the BBQ, youâll be in for a treat. Take a 15-minute walk to Payneâs Bay and pick up some fish fresh off the fishing boats. During this most recent stay, we grilled freshly caught tuna, marlin, mahi-mahi, kingfish, and flying fish on the patio overlooking the ocean. The apartment is stocked with everything youâll need to prepare your feast! But the real highlight of this property is its proximity to the sandy beach, swimming, and the most amazing snorkeling, a mere 30 feet (or less) from shore. Here, youâll see an amazing assortment of fish, including schools of tangs in the hundreds. During this stay, I even swam with and video recorded a sea turtle â a truly memorable moment. The property manager, Michael, is always available, and the caretaker, Grantley, conveniently lives next door. Youâll be in good hands! I give Little Reef my highest recommendation (6 stars) â it will always be our home away from home when visiting Barbados.
Little Reef is a little piece of paradise on earth. A great location away from the crowds with easy access to restaurants and shopping. The views from the private balcony are stunning. Little Reef has everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful stay. Check-in was easy and they helped arrange taxi to/from airport to make everything a breeze!
We had such a wonderful stay at Little Reef. Sally was an excellent host. All questions were answered promptly. She set up our transportation to and from the airport which was so helpful! The apartment is well stocked with cooking utensils, towels, and a much appreciated starter supply of things you will need. It was great having a washing machine for towels and such. The internet worked perfectly. The beach out front of Little Reef is absolutely gorgeous and has the best snorkeling! We saw so many different species of fish, large schools of colorful fish, parrotfish, sea urchins, and more! We found the buses difficult to navigate so we used taxis which were very reasonable priced!
Spent 9 days over the new year at little reefThis was our third visit and we will be backThis is the perfect place to stay if you enjoy peace and quiet and enjoy the ocean without being too far away from the action.New addition since our last visit is the Bikini beach bar just a few yards up the beach Great cocktails at a reasonable ( for Barbados) prices.Waking up to the sound of the waves and having arum or two at sundown watching the Sunset is priceless.Michael was very helpful and Grantley next door looked after us as well.Very difficult to find anything like Little ReefEnjoy
We had the most amazing week. Iâm certain there couldnât be a more beautiful place on the whole island. We loved being able to hear the ocean at night even with the doors closed. The cottage was extremely clean and very quaint. If I could add any suggestion of improvement, it would only be to possible rig some sort of mosquito net so the doors could stay open all night. We are from Arkansas so we were quite familiar with the little pests. Thanks for sharing your lovely place!
This was my second time staying at Little reef and it didn't disappoint. It is a space that really feels like a second home and not an antiseptic hotel like atmosphere. Even the artwork is original and nicely done. You definitely cannot get closer the the ocean unless you are in a boat. And a very swimmable ocean at that. Explorable reefs and calm seas. The home is safe, comfy and amenity rich. The back door is fully retractable, the Weber grill is perfect for the catch of the day from the local fish monger in walking distance. The book shelf has some excellent titles. the Even the little glitches felt quaint, like the dryer out for repairs/replacement or the patio table's wicker a littler worse for wear did not bother me at all, There was a clothes line in the ample sun and one just picks up the odd shedding of wicker. Overall the place has everything you need and nothing you don't. Michael and Grantley are consummate gentlemen and are available and accessible should they be needed.
The situation is wonderful overlooking the sea. However there were several teething problems, not least the cleanliness of the house. The exterior had just finished being decorated the previous day and everything was covered with dust. The air conditioning in the main bedroom wasnât working but this was rectified the next day with a new unit supplied. The following day the house was cleaned thoroughly. The next problem was the washer wasnât working and despite being informed that a technician would be coming round after 11.30am this never happened. The house needs a lot of TLC which is a shame as it could have been lovely as it is in a perfect position.
One word describes this property - WOW! There is so much to love about this charming apartment with its ample amenities (WIFI, laundry, fully equipped kitchen, etc.) and its two spacious bedrooms, each with an en-suite and AC. But the uniqueness of this property is its backyard with steps onto a lovely beach with calm clear blue water and a stunning coral reef beginning a mere 50 metres or so from the shore. The diversity of fish species and the numbers of fish frequenting the reef are incredible (tangs, triggerfish, wrasses, flatfish, pufferfish, angelfish to name but a few). The timid swimmer need not worry because much of the reef is shallow enough to allow standing if needed. I have never experienced such amazing snorkeling a mere 30 sec swim/walk from shore.
The neighborhood has a local vibe and features many good restaurants, public beaches, a fish market, and easy access to a supermarket. Restaurants are pricey in Barbados so the ease of purchasing fish straight off the boats and cooking them on the outdoor bbq's is a huge bonus.
We always felt safe and having the caretaker live next door was a plus. I will definitely return to Little Reef when I am next in Barbados and look forward to seeing the upgrades and renovations.
I cannot stress enough the incredible feeling of jumping into the sea at any moment of the day or night. We spent many hours lounging in the waters revelling in our luck. We were so conveniently located to everything west coast, an easy bus ride to Bridgetown and beyond towards the south coast as well. The primary bed is incredibly comfortable, the outdoor balcony becomes our hangout thanks to the bifold doors that open up completely to the west horizon. Mr. Michael, Grantley and Sally the owner were all accessible and accommodating. We will be back for sure. Barbados after Hurricane Beryl was a dream and we feel so grateful to everyone on this little island for showing us how resilient and kind you are. My heart â€ïž
We stayed at Little Reef for one week in June 2024. We were 4 adults sharing the space. We thoroughly enjoyed both the location and home. It truly felt like a home. The beach couldn't have been any closer. Check in was very smooth and both Michael and Grantley were very helpful. We enjoyed swimming and snorkelling directly off of the patio. The kitchen was very well stocked. Our only suggestion would be for an update of the bathrooms and kitchen. We would definitely stay again in Fitt's Village. It was very easy to find our way to wherever we wanted to go.
Our stay at Little Reef was amazing. This wonderfully charming property was nothing short of a perfect get away. Michael was the consummate property manager and Grantley was a perfect gentleman.
The place was clean and felt like a well cared for "home" not just a rental. Everything worked and was very comfortable. All the amenities were great. Loved the Weber grill! That is a rarity in Barbados.
The view is perfect and the deck is the best. I am a big fan of the heat so I loved being able to open the doors/glass walls in the living area and sliding door the bedroom and be one with outside. At times the heat was a bit much and there was no A/C in the main living area but we worked that out as the A/C in the other rooms compensated nicely but a separate oscillating fan would have been nice for the heat and some of the mosquitos at night.
The travel book helped with finding places and Little Reef was listed for the catamaran cruise pick up right from your front door. The location of this property was great for access to the buses and walking distance to many attractions and bars and beaches.
Snorkeling right outside our back door was the best and we saw everything from fish to eels to octopus. The access to the water is the best from directly behind the house which was perfect. The west coast beaches are tranquil and azure, the water here was perfect. I highly recommend this rental for it's value, access, charm and location. FYI, I accidentally signed out of Netflix. Sorry.
This is the 2nd time we stayed at Little Reef. Our 1st time was 5 years ago. This stay was just as relaxing and satisfying as our last. The addition of the wifi and TV was a welcome improvement. Michael and Grantly were very responsive to some questions we had. This villa is a hidden gem.
Great place to stay. Canât get closer to the ocean than this place. Location is good. Easy access to buses. Short walk to supermarket and restaurants.
This large apartment is a great value for the location right on the beach. The waves are crashing literally just outside the patio. Getting to the safe swim beach can be a bit dicey with the surf so close and the rocks so near. Timing is everything.
The place is not fancy but it is comfortable and has everything you need. There is an upstairs apartment with guests that share the patio, which was no problem but we were lucky to have good people in there at the time.
We had a pair of monkeys come through the back patio and they were surprisingly amazing to see.
The back doors open up to the big blue Caribbean Sea and bring in a nice breeze. We watched all the action of boats, catamarans and jet skis coming and going until sunset. The views really make Little Reef worth the stay.
Great location, caring owner and team, beautiful beach, sunsets, no big crowds, close to fresh fish market and local grocery stores. Buses can take you everywhere. Price was perfect. Would definitely recommend.
I am Irish and live on the beautiful island of Grenada 45 minutes by air from Barbados. My family has owned Little Reef for over forty years and they still visit the apartment. The beach is stunning and to step from the veranda to the patio and on to the beach is a wonderful experience.
Immediate access to the platinum beach is little Reef's unique feature and the indoor outdoor feel of the apartment allows for maximum experience of the stunning view. The sunsets are unbelievably beautiful. Fishermen catch sprats in their nets giving a timeless feel to the ambiance.
