The apartment is impressive. Beautifully decorated with a lovely view. A couple of things: Outlet plug did not work in kitchen. Had to use an extention cord which made me uncomfortable. Light bulbs burned out in the kitchen. A lot of black curly hair floating around. Cleaning appliances not efficient. One, was too heavy and one was ineffective. Bed matress cover and duvet had nasty stains. On the positive side the pillows were good and clean as were the sheets. Lovely dishes and cutlery. A lot of condiments were left in the fridge. Furnishings were very pleasing. Appliances were clean and adequate. Stove was spotless.Bathroom was clean though drainage was a bit slow. Lovely thick bath towels. Only 3 drawers was a bit tight for a month's stay. On the whole I enjoyed my month at the Makaha towers.
This suite was excellent. Roomy, clean, beautiful view front and back. There was almost every extra item you would need; Grocery bags, cooler, shampoo, lotion, vacuum, sunscreen, paper plates, zip lock bags, lots of paper products with refills, beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie board and more! The best equipped place we have stayed in. Yes the lights were burned out but there were bulbs there to replace them so we did! We had one issue which was taken care of quickly.
Be prepared to pay $100 cash deposit to the condo office which you will get back at the end of your visit. The condo grounds are beautifully treed and most were blooming during our stay. The only drawbacks for the condo building were there is no sidewalk when you want to walk the loop around for exercise and no place to go sit on a lawnchair to relax in a parklike atmosphere. There is a nice grassy area where you can sit by the BBQ's but only at picnic tables. The smokers get a tiny area with benches to sit and visit but not the nonsmokers.
You can see the oceans and mountains, beaches are close, groceries, restaurants and shaved ice are nearby as well.
We stayed at this property for 30 days. We have stayed at Makaha Valley Towers many times before. It is a safe, clean and well organized resort. The condo was very well equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses, paper products, toiletries and cleaning materials as well as beach items. However there was only one Pyrex type dish for cooking. No serving dishes nor any plastic utensils for storing leftovers. After a little difficulty we managed to contact the management company- we went to the office and they agreed to reimburse us if we purchased some items - which helped. We donated a tea kettle and a baking tray. It still needs more items added. We know the Makaha area. We enjoy going to Makaha beach and travelling to other beaches. We love KoâOlina, Kahului on the east side and going up to the north shore. We play tennis at the local courts and have always been made very welcome by the local tennis players. Sadly, the homeless situation in Waianae, and beyond has increased significantly over the last few years. There were even people camped at the side of the tennis courts . Itâs becoming an overwhelming problem for all concerned. In spite of that, we would stay in this condo again.
