We had a great time staying in this wonderful home on the water. We watched the Bar Harbor 4th of July fireworks from the house deck which was amazing! The location is very convenient to all attractions and restaurants. The house was well equipped for all of our needsâŠespecially the kitchen. We plan on coming back soon.
The home is beautiful. Neat, clean and very welcoming. Our stay was delightful, a wonderful place to stay when exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Couldn't ask for much more. This is a clean, well-equipped property in a great location - right on a protected bay with calm waters. It's just minutes from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The only drawback is it's on the main highway, so there is some traffic noise.
We could not have asked for a more suitable house for our group of 3 couples. The house was very clean, comfortable with beautiful views and easy access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. I would definitely recommend!
This property was 8 mins out of downtown bar harbor so it was easy enough to go into town for food or shopping but you still get the remoteness that you are looking for. The house is spacious and was a good size for two couples and an infant.
We LOVED staying here. The host was excellent- so great at communicating and even offering suggestions for things to do at our request. The house was VERY clean and well kept- Especially the bathrooms and bedrooms, which is super important to me. Because guests are responsible for dishes- I did knock off one star for cleanliness. This has nothing to do with the host and everything to do with previous guests. When cooking I did need to wash two pans before I could use them because they had something sticky in them- but honestly Iâm a germ person and I always rinse things before anyway. The house description was very accurate - great location- I gave 4 stars out of five because there is quite a bit of road noise that we noticed at night. That would not affect us choosing this place again. 5/5 would stay here again, Iâd just bring a sound machine. The location was amazing- we were close to town to enjoy it, but out far enough we had quiet mornings to ourselves on the deck. The views are absolutely better than the photos and my kids could not get enough of finding shells and rocks along the beach. Also- we realized our last night- you can walk along the rocky coast a short distance to a restaurant for happy hour that has great drinks and appetizers- such a fun way to end the day!! We were so happy here and I hope future guests are also!!
We had a great trip to Bar Harbor and were able to find this nice house just outside of downtown. On the water with canoes and kayaks. A short walk away is the Chart House, a casual in door/outdoor seafood dining place. The food was excellent. The house we rented was just about perfect for our size group. We would rent again.
The house and beach were exactly as described. We had a great time in Maine and making this our home base for the week was a big part of our experience. It is nice to have the harbor view from each bedroom and common area. We spent every night on the deck watching the lights from the harbor and spent the mornings watching the lobster boats.
We would highly recommend this place.
This place was really nice. You cannot beat the view from the deck. Property was clean and the location is great! Very close to lots of restaurants and Acadia. Neighbors are very friendly. Loved using the kayaks. My only 2 complaints are the traffic noise (house is right off a main road) and the upstairs beds are not the most comfortable (very firm mattresses).
The property was very nice. The location was excellent. I'll be honest the cleaning fee that is tacked on to renting the house on top of the instructions that "there can't be dishes in the dishwasher, broom swept, and very minimal laundry remaining when you leave" makes me question what does the cleaning person do. Other than that our stay was fantastic and I would recommend others to stay here as well.
Great new property recently built. Very comfortable furnishings and amenities. Very comfortable kitchen for cooking. The outdoor deck and furnishings are a fantastic plus, sitting on the water overlooking Hull's Cove. Road noise is constant (and heard inside the house) throughout the day.
Great Waterfront Location, Convenient to Acadia National Park
My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this waterfront home. It was very convenient to the Acadia National Park entrance and a short drive into the center of Bar Harbor. There are great water views from just about every room in the house, especially from the living room and deck.
We enjoyed the kayaks and walks along the shore. Breathtaking sunrises can be viewed from the deck or with a short walk down the road.
The kitchen was well equipped, including paper goods and basic extras (salt, pepper, sugar, etc.).
The home office setup with 2 monitors, keyboard, mouse and printer came in handy for some office work that came up.
For convenience we ordered take out from the Chart Room restaurant (just down the road) one night and were pleased with the food.
We did have problems working the TV setups with the cable and Roku boxes and never figured out how to watch network channels. (They need detailed step-by-step instructions since all setups are different.)
One down side is there is road noise from the busy road right outside the property, but with the windows closed, it was manageable.
We would definitely stay here again.
The only thing that we found difficult were the location instructions. We spent a lot of time in the neighborhood next door. First house past Lookoyt Pond Rd would have put us right there
The Covend Guest House was a great location for our family vacation to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Direct access to the beach, a short drive to town and Acadia NP, and a very clean / well organized property with plenty of room for us throughout the week. Many thanks!
This is a new, nicely designed house in a wonderful location. We particularly loved the view of the cove from the windows and the deck. The location is very convenient for getting to both Bar Harbor and Acadia, by car, bus or bicycle. Kayaking in the cove made it really special! The only negative is that the front of the house is right on a relatively busy road, so there's quite a bit of traffic noise.
Newer cottage on Hulls Cove with air conditioning provided a perfect location and size for our family of six. The home is in close proximity to the entrance of Acadia, Trenton, and Bar Habor, but provided an opportunity to step away from the summer crowds to enjoy a peaceful afternoon of skipping stones on your own private beach.
