Belle grande maison victorienne, une fois au sommet d'une plantation française appartenant à la couronne française au début des années 1700, puis construite en 1894. Il maintient une ambiance d'Europe du vieux monde et de pays français, tout en étant à quelques minutes du quartier français, mais aussi une belle oasis. Rempli d'un décor charmant d'une époque révolue. Sentez-vous comme un prince ou une princesse dans cette maison de style aristocratique. ... Si votre réservation est pour une grande fête, il y a aussi un grand étage, avec une option d'entrée séparée et intérieure, il peut s'agir d'une location entière ou de deux locations séparées ... Museum Mortuary se trouve de l'autre côté de la rue, à proximité de deux pubs locaux, du café Exotic Tea, des boulangeries et des cafés, des restaurants, des épiceries, du parc municipal, du New Orleans Museum of Art et bien sûr du FrenchQuarter, à seulement quelques minutes.

A step back in time to old New Orleans

We loved staying in this vintage home with a charming Victorian-style décor. The Mid-City location really could not be beat, and the on-street parking was very helpful as we came and went. When we didn’t want to drive, the streetcar right out front was fun as always, and made it simple to go to the French Quarter or restaurants in the area. We had a large group so we rented both floors (reachable by both outside and inside stairs through separate entrances, so very private). Both were clean and well-appointed for our guests. We didn’t cook or use some of the appliances, so we can’t comment on those, but the little treats (fresh flowers, small goodies, sound machines, etc.), coffee maker and supplies (abundant toilet paper and paper towels, which we replaced) were very nice and most welcome. Communication with the host was great both before and during our trip. We would stay here again when in New Orleans.

My friends and I had the most amazing time at the dollhouse for my bachelorette party. The hostess Amay was incredible and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. 5/5 Stars!!

All 8 of us loved this place!

Five adults, three teens and two dogs were all happy in this house. We rented both the upstairs and downstairs so there was plenty of room to spread out. It was very easy and convenient to hop the streetcar right across the street and ride to the French Quarter and the WW2 museum. It was nice to chill out on the front porch while the dogs enjoyed the enclosed yard. The decor was fun and not like anything we'd ever experienced before. Definitely made our time in New Orleans very special. The host was responsive when we had a question and had made an effort to get a particular type of coffee pot for us beforehand. I'm very happy we booked here.

Our Favorite stay ever!!!

We had a stay far too short but look forward to a return when we have more time. My daughters loved the decor and theme of the house. Very antebellum and a true Dollhouse for sure. Very feminine, but my hubby loved it too, as it is very family friendly. Like a giant easter egg! Location was FAB too. We walked to the coffee shop easily and grocery was close, and trolley stopped right out the door and we were on Bourbon st in 15 mins--straight shot and scenic tour on the way!! Hands down our best stay to date. If you want to feel like you are IN New Orleans and in a past time, dont miss out on this one!!

Comical Stay

Overall, we had high hopes for this stay which quickly turned into a comical joke the entire weekend. We booked the entire place, which does not say that the upstairs and downstairs are separated via outside staircase. So when doing things as a group, you are leaving one building to go into another. There’s a “third cabin” which is just a shed in the backyard. The main house has two bathrooms which are both in a bedroom, there are no communal bathroom spaces. When we arrived we noticed that there’s pealing wallpaper, broken water faucet/fixtures, a dishwasher that doesn’t drain, a toilet that ran the entire stay, multiple unsteady furniture pieces, and a LOT of Knick knacks. Every single wall and piece of furniture was covered with random objects. The owners “art” pieces take up a grand majority of the upstairs walls and are off putting with the frames literally pulling off the wall. During our stay we had multiple discussions with the owner and the responses were snippy and bordering on rude. Now icing on the cake, six months later I received a claim stating there was “damage” being claimed. The things listed were absolutely asinine and we thankfully took before and after photos. The location is great, that’s the only highlight I have to give.

Amazing!!

We loved this place truly. It was clean, beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Gorgeous tapestries and decor, felt very New Orleans. We enjoyed the porch a lot too, drinking wine and watching the streetcar. Slept great in the beds. We went to the coffee shop when we woke up and then the French Quarter was right there, took the streetcar. Lovely experience. Will stay here every time and thank you to the host for the wine and cake, so thoughtful! True NOLA Gem!!

Gorgeous Place! Great location on Trolley stop!

We really enjoyed this house! I felt like Marie Antoinette for the night in Versailles. It was our first time to New Orleans and wow, we were quite blown away. Its an incredible and important historical property. Amay could literally charge admission for tours of this gorgeous example of French Colonial /Victorian architecture and the grounds. You feel as though you are stepping into the past but with modern updates. But, Do not expect super modern amenities but you will have everything you need to be comfortable! Beds were heavenly. Location could not be better. We used the nearby 24 hour gym, and walked to the Station coffee shop, and Dots donuts is right there too. Also, we took the baby and dog to City Park, maybe a 15 min walk--perfect and we felt very safe. Loved it overall, and highly recommend, thank you for the wine and goodies also Amay. We will definitely be back and do recommend!!

Very pretty and very French

We had a girls group of 7 for my Birthday. Amay was so thoughtful leaving us cupcakes and B day crown. She also hooked us up with a great tour guide. The house is gorgeous. Truly. We all said best rental wed ever stayed in--hands down! Nice decor and bedding, and lots of New Orleans & French themed artifacts, books. Its old-timey, has a gas stove (great for cooking) Retro fridge and kitchen. We didnt want to go out, it was so fun! Location unbeatable too! Close to everything and felt safe and cozy at night. We WILL stay again, every time. Thank you for being a great Host and your hospitality Amay, see you next time! Marie B

A real life Dollhouse! Like in a magazine!!

We loved the dollhouse, my two daughters were in sheer heaven. I read one negative review and my sister was concerned, but there was a lot of other good ones and the house was too pretty to pass up. Everything worked just fine, its an old gas stove which was super cool, you jus light it and it was perfect. All shiny and clean. Gorgeous tapestries and wallpaper. Beds were great, very vintage or antique and old time, but mattresses were nice and comfy, we slept great. Location is super because you can walk to the cemetaries and we went to the Morturary nearby, kids loved it and easy trip on the streetcar to the aquarium and Bourbon st. House is decorated like a movie set or fairy tale. Just gorgeous and not too girly, as my husband loved it too, and we also had our small pup, and courtyard worked well for her and walking her around. Overall, we will stay again for sure and recommend it, 5/5, you dont want to miss this for a real New Orleans experience!!

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!! Loved it!!

We stayed at the Dollhouse for my Bach party-7 ladies. It was better than expected! Its like you are in another time. Gorgeous colors and very feminine and serene! First time for several of us visiting New Orleans. Amay was so helpful in offering suggestions. The location is the best, just minutes from the French Quarter, and the Trolley stops right out front! We felt safe and happy. Loved the antiques, and decor, very Marie Antoinette/ French style. Surpassed all expectations! Clean and stunning! Will stay here when we return for sure. Recommended, thank you Amay!!

Beautiful! Loved it, very New Orleans!

Our family stayed recently, five of us , my wife esp loved this house. Was crazy about it! We had never been to NO, so what a treat. You feel like its100 years ago, very true to the historic area. We loved the four poster bed and the kids slept in twins, everyone was happy, they took tons of pics for their SM even, to show off. Its like a fairy tale dollhouse really. Was very clean and also she left out wine and snacks. And even more toiletries than needed and coffee, which we enjoyed, but there was also a coffee shop we walked to. Was great. Amay was super helpful with ideas and area was perfect, right outside the French Quarter we felt safe and took the Trolley directly to Bourbon st. Easy. We cant wait to stay again. Thank you Amay!

Major deferred maintenance + defensive owner

In a few words: The property page was unclear regarding upstairs and downstairs bathroom and bedroom accommodations. We were 3 couples +1 single guest and owner expected us to share a bedroom with our single friend which may be ok for teenagers but not when you are pushing 60… Literally nothing worked in the house. All tubs, toilets and sinks were clogging up and bathtub faucets falling off from the wall… Paint and wallpaper peeling from ceilings and walls. All Mattresses totally worn out and box springs half way on/off the floor or held up with a can of beans (picture available ) “cottage” ( actually a garage) toilet backed up into the tub within a couple of usage and bathroom became totally unusable. Kitchen: pretty dishwasher but not plugged in, 2 gas burners unusable because not connected and 4 keurig pods for 7 people, dirty fridge and freezer in need of defreezing for space to make ice cubes.Dining room unusable for 7 with a 3 legged chairs( picture available) finally porch not set up for conviviality with dilapidated chairs and an ashtray still full of cigarette butts. Clearly this property has deferred maintenance. But the worst part was the host attitude: not helpful, blamed us for what was happening and answered to our questions that all informations was sent by email ( never received) a printout in the house would have been an easy fix. Now that we are out of this place we will laugh about our experience at chez Amay for years to come…. Bonne chance! Isabelle S

Amazing Bachelorette Trip w ample room

this was such a beautiful location. Yes it was a little older or dated but it totally was an era themed Elizabethan home. We could totally picture it in the past! so cute! perfect spot right up from Canal Street. We took the trolley everywhere we needed to go. It was amazing. The host was easily accessible and we had everything we needed. Would 100% stay again. also you can fit so many guests here it’s insane. We only had 8 ladies and ample room to spread out!

Mardi Gras fete with friends

We had a wonderful stay in this precious house thanks to our host. She described the house perfectly and even took steps to make sure our two families had plenty of room to be comfortable in our stay. This house is located conveniently in New Orleans with streetcar access to everything anyone would want to see and do in the city. Amay was so wonderful and I'd like to thank her again for accommodating us. We had a fantastic Mardi Gras in part because of her hospitality.

Amazing stay!

I loved everything about this place and Amay was such a gracious host. It was my birthday and she made sure my time in New Orleans was special. She also ensured I had enough room to accommodate my large group and was quick to respond to any and all of my questions. Check-in was easy, the place was beautiful! The attention to detail was spectacular. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be staying again next time.

Part of our adventure!

Girls Trip that loves to incorporate adventure into their travels. We rented both the down and up apt's. The decor and layout were part of our adventure. Both were very cute, with decor as appropriate to the house. Hostess very responsive. Descriptions were updated to reflect that there are additional charges, if upstairs apt. needs to be included. We did initially have issue with that, but Amay worked with us to be sure we were all good. We had plenty of room. I loved the repro vintage appliances. Would recommend to appropriate groups for rental. If you are expecting all new shiny things, that is not what this is. It is a comfortable, cute, appropriately decorated home and we were all very comfortable for our stay. The front porch and upper deck were used greatly as gathering places for all of our crew. The trolley stop and several restaurants, City Park and a couple of cemeteries were all within walking distance, for those that had no mobility issues. the trolley was a great way to travel, for those that did. Thank you Amay, for sharing your home with us.

Good for a large group!

Our group loved staying here! The location near City Park and the streetcar line was perfect for us and the fun decor made it special. Our group of 12 women all were able to sleep comfortably the beds provided and the host was super accommodating when it came to check in/check out times. Would definitely recommend to another group visiting NOLA!

The rental was consumed by pillows and misc novelties that got in the way and were useless. The key situation is a joke. The location is great. The bedrooms were not described well and frankly were misleading. My family is flexible and it really didn’t distract to the overall experience but needs to be said.

Great location

The location was very convenient to airport and downtown both, especially with the trolly at the front door. The home was a little fussy for me, but the good points overcame that. With the activities we had planned, were really not there that much. I had wanted to walk to City Park but the weather did not cooperate, very hot. The kitchen is not set up for much cooking but as it turned out we did not eat a single meal at the house, just morning coffee and bagels, restaurants too good, some very close.

Corporate Flight Attendant for Net Jets, and artist/painter. Ive lived abroad and travel the world regularly and love to open my home to other travelers. Flying on private jets catering to the rich and famous and also being an artist has helped cultivate a BnB like no other, with great attention to detail, and artistic features it makes this place a haven for the traveler.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

There is no other house like this in all of New Orleans! It feels like Old World Europe or you are in the French countryside downstairs and upstairs is your Parisian penthouse. It is a very cozy oasis to adjourn to at the end of a long day in the French Quarter and you can easily access all parts of the city within minutes! The house is filled with charm and books and literature, you will be transported and really feel as you are in another time, or in New Orleans 100 years ago but with all modern conveniences of course :)

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Lots of amenities and treats are left for my guests including linens, toiletires, coffees, tea and water, and some other specialties. Its an adorable and comfortable house. I am listed on another site with rave reviews.
