We really enjoyed our stay, everything was as advertised. A soak in the hot tub every afternoon after exploring the area was nice. I gave the check-in process three stars for the following reason: Shortly after we booked I received an email asking for a picture of my credit card (last four numbers of account only) and my drivers license. This would allow the renter to email me the address and door code on the day of arrival. I wasn't comfortable sending personal information over unsecure email, so I was given the option to check-in at the office in town on the day of arrival, which is what we did. After our stay I emailed the manager asking why they required this and this was part of his response: "One of the reasons we request a photo of the credit card (with only the last four digits visible) along with a driverâs license is to verify that the person making the reservation is the same person staying at the property and is also the person paying."Ironically, their process doesn't guarantee that at all, the alternate procedure of having me check-in at the office does much more to insure this. Had I emailed the information requested I could have just forwarded the address and door code email to someone else on arrival day and they would have been none the wiser. Checking in at the office at least proved I was in the area that day, even if I wasn't the one actually staying at the property. I still highly recommend this property for a relaxing stay in the area.
The cabin was exactly as listed and it was beautiful we got there after dark but the turn by turn directions they gave us got us there first try the cabin was clean and cozy the property manager was amazing when we come back we will be using them again
This was not only our Anniversary trip , but also our first time to Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg. We wanted to be secluded but also close enough to the attractions. This cabin met our expectations and more. We saw a mama bear with 3 cubs which was exciting. My hubby was disappointed there was no Big Foot sighting this trip, which means we'll need to come back and now we have the perfect cabin to come back to.
We had such a fabulous time at Shadyâs Barn. The cabin is a perfect secluded gem in the Tennessee Mountains. We were fortunate to see the Black Bears every day of our visit, munching acorns and even a Momma bear with 3 cubbies! Definitely had to be mindful of the bears, but overall it was more beautiful and relaxing than we ever imagined. The hot tub was great and the seclusion was amazing. The drive in was a bit intimidating as someone who doesnât have much experience with mountain driving, but by the end of the trip I was a pro. Hubby and I canât wait to return! Highly recommended!
The pictures of Shadys Barn do not do it justice. It is absolutely adorable and cozy. It was so very perfect for us. The kitchen is well stocked. I added a couple items :) WiFi is excellent. Hot tub was perfect. Mornings on the porch with coffee were perfect. An abundance of wildlife
Great place to get away. Saw 3 adult bear and 3 babies, one coyote, and many turkey's. Bed unfortunately was very hard and hard on our backs. But everything else.was great. wawonwhard and hard on it backsturkey's.
Property was everything it said it was and as described. It was nice to find a cabin for just two, well appointed and nice lay out, not everything cramped in one space to include the hot tub. Needs a blind over the glass doors, we used blankets to keep out the sun, and any passerbyâs. Privacy from neighbors was nice... Peaceful, I would consider staying again.
Very clean. Very private. No cell service in the cabin, but the wifi worked well. It would have been nice if every window in the bedroom as well as the glass door to exit to the outside had shades to keep out the morning light.
We really enjoyed our stay the cabin was very cozy, had everything you needed the hot tub was wonderful, if you want a beautiful secluded cabin this is the one but you do need an AWD or 4-WHEEL DRIVE we will return

Shadyâs Barn was clean and matched our expectations from the description and pics. Beautiful property in a private setting, end cabin on a long gravel drive.
The kitchen is pretty well stocked which came in handy since we were attending an event in Townsend where the few restaurants there can get overwhelmed at dinner time.
Hope to return next year.
The cabin was not the cabin we originally wanted or rented. Arrangements were changed at the last minute. The cabin was clean but we went without heat 2 out of our 3 night stay with 29 degree night temperatures. Whirlpool tub did not work. Television downstairs with pool table didn't work. Fireplace blower didn't work.
