An outstanding garden home in old Beaune with easy walking distance to town. Beautifully decorated and a wonderful front garden with privacy fence and plenty of seating. Owner is fabulous and meets you for orientation and gives tons of advice about the area. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Beaune. A true gem!
Bob met us at the place, showed us everything which we needed to know. He was lovely and quite helpful.
The upstairs is very nice, however a tight fit if you are taller than 6 feet. The floor level is quite nice and the kitchen is very capable.
We loved the location, very close to the inner city.
I highly recommend staying here and would love to stay again.
The house was very true to photographs. We were only 2 people, so really only used the main floor. The upstairs bedroom would be suitable for children. While charming, the downstairs cellar was musty. I have severe mold allergies, therefore the cellar ended up being a negative for me. The weather was good while we were there so we were able to leave the doors and windows open so the house stayed ventilated. The functional shutters were amazing for this. The garden was very pleasant for our at home meals.
Bob was very responsive and accommodating in all aspects of our booking and stay. The house is beautiful as is the garden - as Bob notes very well equipped and the common areas are great. I think the house is ideal for a family of four travelling together - two adults and two kids. The upper bedroom was very tricky for two men over 6 feet tall to navigate - the slope of the ceiling (you can see it in the pictures) was quite steep, and we could only stand up straight at the one side of the room. We both ended up banging our heads trying to navigate it. The shower upstairs is also very tiny and so we all ended up using the gorgeous shower downstairs. The main floor bedroom and common areas are perfect though - we had a great time sitting around the living room drinking wine! Location is wonderful!
Good house and very green garden. We were met by the owner to show us around.Splendid location for the centre of Beaune. Having parking on site was a great bonus.Lots of information on the local wines!!
This property was more than we could ask for. It is located across from the city walls, a 7-minute walk to the center of town, and provides a wonderful place to park the car, relax and enjoy. What we saw in the listing and read in the description was spot on. There was more space than we needed, given the two floors. Nevertheless, we could spread out and feel at home. Very comfortable.
A friend and i stayed here during 5 days visiting small domaines in Burgundy. Arranged on three levels with two twin beds and separate bath upstairs. The main level has a master bedroom and toilet and bath beside the kitchen, also on that level. The lower level, reached by a spiral stair, includes a dining area and sitting area.
The appointments were top drawer. We chose to have breakfast beside the kitchen and main meals on the patio just outside the front door.
We hope you enjoy your stay as much we did.
Excellent location, easy to find with just a five minute walk to town centre where their is no shortage of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops.
Very good greet and meet by the owner who took us through the house workings etc. Traditional, quirky and importantly modern when it comes to items such as Bathrooms, showers, kitchen etc. There are very good instruction books on how things worked/local knowledge of the area, the best weâve seen for some time. There was also a welcome pack of basic groceries and bottle of wine for us. Most appreciated after a long drive.
The garden is a delight to sit out in and even better for summer evening dining. Secure parking on the property with electric gates is a real bonus so you donât have to worry about your car
Beaune, indeed the Burgundy region is lovely to explore and this is a good base point. The Market is on Saturday and not to be missed. A smaller market is held on Wednesdays
We also recommend visiting the Hospice de Beaune and Notre Dame Cathedral whilst in Beaune
All in all a very delightful stress free week
We were 2 couples mostly in Burgundy to explore and taste the area's wine. It was extremely hot when we arrived and the upstairs bedroom is in the attic area with 2 opening skylights. It gets pretty warm. A fan is provided. We managed the warmth by cooling the house in the am and then shutting it up while we were gone. It worked for us but do be aware that you will need to do this if the days are warm. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The beds are comfortable. The outside garden area is a wonderfully relaxing spot to enjoy at any time of day. We even had our morning coffee on the porch table. The walk to town is short and there are many restaurants to enjoy. The internet was not working while we were there which was an inconvenience and we did not use the cellar as in the heat it had a strong "damp" smell that lessened after the weather cooled. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house, especially if you like a garden spot to relax in at the end of a busy day.
We spent 10 lovely days in Beaune at this exceptional location. We were in walking distance to the heart of Beaune and all attractions. The house is fully updated, well appointed, with a private garden for outside dining. Totally charming and comfortable. Great library about the region and outstanding information for visitors. Luxurious furnishings, everything you would need, artistic too! Bob welcomed us and was a great hostâchampagne, fruit basket, chocolate, milkâfor a lovely start to our stay. We hope to book again and canât recommend this highly enough! We took a cooking glass at The Cooking Atelier, booked a wine tour through the tourism office and did a Beaune cellar tour at Joseph Drouhin wineryâthe oldest in Beaune. We visited Hotel Dieuâa must, the wine museum, so much to do and learn here. Wonderful time! We are most grateful for Bobâs hospitality!
A beautiful house in the heart of beautiful Beaune
We had a great time in this charming house in Beaune. It's in a fantastic location to stroll into Beaune to see the sights/restaurants.
it has private parking so we went off wine tasting/picnicing during the day then came back and either had a BBQ in the pretty secluded garden or strolled to one on the many excellent restaurants within 5 mins walk.
The house was big ( we didn't use the downstairs lounge area at all!) and amazingly well equipped - it really does have everything you'll need for a great time. But the best feature is definitely the charming secluded garden and the location.
The owner Bob was very helpful and we cannot recommend this property too highly. We plan to come back with different friends next year
