Such a lovely cabin. We really enjoyed our stay. Been visiting the area for 20 years and this was one of my favorite locations. Will definitely be back!
Our third stay here. We love the home, love the area. The home is perfectly situated close to all the small towns, yet isolated enough to feel cozy. Great fireplace.
Had a wonderful stay on Seay Mountain. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the bear motifs and decorations throughout the cabin. We enjoyed the remoteness as well as being close to I-40. We would definitely stay there again.
Property is exactly as described, and the photos are accurate. Very clean, comfortable bed, good water pressure, as well as plenty of hot water. Pretty mountain hideaway near Waynesville.
We had an amazing vacation and were happy with the Cabin. Great fireplace! The Perfect spot to relax and get away from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We loved walking and driving in the mountains.
Hope to stay again soon!
This was our 2nd stay at Bear Pause. Updated counters and appliances look good. Cabin is easy to get to and close to Maggie Valley/Waynesville area. Fireplace is nice on the cold mountain days. Bear pause will stay on our November trips to the area.
Beautifully kept property on a quiet, private mountainside. The cabin is well appointed, clean, and close to GSMNP, Pisgah National Forest, Blue Ridge Parkway, and greater Maggie Valley. We enjoyed hiking the area, driving the parkway, and relaxing on the great front porch! Shari and Jorge are wonderful owners and were quick to answer questions! Thank you again for sharing your amazing cabin!
We recently stayed here as a getaway to experience a bit of Fall. It was our second stay. We love the area, the nearness to small towns around us, as well as being close to Asheville. But the bonus is being so close yet far enough away to feel like we don't have to go anywhere else to enjoy the solitude this cabin provides. Additionally, we love being able to build a fire in the fireplace.
Off the beaten path, find cabin before sun sets, worth it.
Loved the cabin, not easy to get to, charged alot for cleaning but i noticed only surface cleaning was done no deep cleaning definitely no dusting. No baking pans available though, muffin pan definitely needs to be bought. Oh your site said check out was noon i think but note in fridge with list of doâs said 10 am check out. Loved back porch view. Def. foung again. Thankyou
This cabin is amazing. If you are looking to relax and get away from everything, this cabin is the place to be. Surrounded by trees, star lit sky at night and nature this location gives you everything. The gravel road up the mountains leads you to a secluded peaceful cabin which is perfectly decorated and has all the amenities you will need. The bed and furniture are very comfortable. The cabin was exceptionally clean and well kept. The owners are one in a million. Very accommodating in so many ways and very responsive . The property manager is very friendly and receptive to any inquires or request. The surrounding area has many restaurants, grocery stores and the locals are so friendly. We look forward to returning to this cabin. The winters must be breathtaking!
The cabin is nice, clean and well appointed. Unfortunately the neighboring house, less than 100 ft away, has large dog that is kept outside that began barking before 7am daily for most of the day. The property is centrally located to Waynesville/Maggie Valley, Pisgah National Forest and Smoky Mountain Park but be prepared for a 45 min or longer drive to any of them. The wifi/internet was effectively useless so don't expect to be able to work remotely or even be able to watch TV without constant buffering. One highlight of the location was the abundance of wildlife from nightly fireflies to small wild rabbits in the driveway most days.
We chose this lovely cabin because of the location and amenities however the online information doesnât tell the complete story. This property is warm and inviting if you want a mountain retreat feel to your excursion. Itâs off the beaten path but not to far off, we had 8 inches of beautiful snow while there and had an enjoyable experience and the snow was a bonus. We plan to book this property again during the summer months. Great owners
Bear Pause is a clean and comfortable cabin in the mountains. We enjoyed the fireplace on the cold nights. Just the right size for two people. Easy to find with the directions provided. We will not hesitate to stay again.
Beautiful cabin, very clean, comfortable beds, wifi, great TV, everything you need! This Florida girl was a little scared with the drive up the mountain in the vehicle we drove. I do feel like it would be better if we had an SUV or truck, as our car had a bit of difficulty with wet leaves and traction. We did get used to the drive though. We were there for our honeymoon in October, the leaves were beautiful.
We loved this cozy cabin. It is very clean, well furnished and quiet. If you need a place to relax, this one will not disappoint.
If you go when the weather is good, I would highly recommend renting a Slingshot from Smokey Mountain Slingshot rentals and cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway, such a blast!!
We needed some time away and actually we were supposed to have been on a cruise to Greece (that we canceled). Never been to this part of NC and the Smoky Mountains. House was prefect for the setting, right size. Our hosts left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy and sent a blender just in case. We all had a great time.
We love to escape to our Great Smokey Mountain cabin to get away from the hustle and bustle of our regular schedules as often as we can. We hope our guests enjoy our cabin as much as we do. We added our personal touches in the decor, giving it that authentic cabin feel that we fell in love with when we purchased the property.
Great central location to everything the area has to offer. Only 25 minutes to Asheville; 1 hour to Gatlinburg and about 40 minutes to the Cherokee reservation.
