Bienvenue chez The Salty Skipper Beach Home!

Cette maison de luxe côtière moderne et récemment rénovée est idéalement située juste à côté de la plage et dispose d'un accès privé à la plage! Vous ne serez pas coincé derrière 6 rangées de chaises et de parasols bloquant votre vue, vous serez en première ligne pour profiter de votre propre plage privée comme vous le souhaitez!

Cette spacieuse maison de deux étages comprend 5 chambres, 4 salles de bain, 2 cuisines, 2 salons, un grand balcon donnant sur la plage et le golfe du Mexique avec un assortiment de chaises Adirondack. Il dispose également d'une immense piscine où vous pourrez vous asseoir et sentir les chaudes brises du golfe! Ceci est juste 1 maison directement de la plage alors y arriver ne pourrait pas être plus facile ou plus sûr pour la famille et l'accès à la plage est directement de votre rue.

Less than a month from booking to travel! Downstairs rooms were smaller, but still able to accommodate 10adults and 4kids comfortably. Clean and comfortable, some small maintenance jobs should be done

Well kept new property close to beach

The house was really clean and everything was new and decorated. The beach was very close. There is a small view of the water from the balcony which was nice. We watched a nice sunset here. The backyard is amazing to Bbq and swim. My only suggested improvements are to bring duvet comforter covers (the house only has thin blankets). The other thing is that the light is very bright in the morning bc the shades don't block the sun. I think the rooms need some curtains. Other than that, the home is great! The beach was a bit crowded and you can walk down to one opening over to rent chairs which I suggest.

It's ok, needs a few improvements

Great location!! Needs some improvements especially downstairs. The railing on the upper deck is wobbly and needs to be fixed. My husband leaned on it and the entire thing moved, we had to make sure to tell all the kids to stay away from it and not to touch it. The chairs on the upper deck are rotted and broken and need to be replaced. The pool and the outside area is amazing. The upstairs is amazing. The downstairs is mainly just dated and old, electrical outlets in the living room need to be updated. Everything was clean and overall it was a great stay with no issues. The beach access that across the street is super small, and was packed !! We rented a golf cart for the week so we all hopped on it and went a few short blocks down the road to were there was inflatables in the water and the kids had a blast. Perfect location for beach, shopping, restaurants .

Glad ya'll had a wonderful time overall. We do have the railing secured and just got permits approved for a complete expansive overhaul that is scheduled for this fall to get this home back into premium luxury condition!

Perfect location

Spacious 2 story (separate entries) home located steps from the beautiful beach. Home could use some tlc... air vents were dirty/black/moldy, other than that it was in ok condition considering its an older home. All pool lounge chairs had their legs broken off but were still usable. Outdoor pool was nice and large enough for our group. Its sunny in the back yard the entire day so a few umbrellas by the pool would be nice for shade for little ones that like to be in the water all day long. Both upper and lover kitchens had decent amt of pots/dishes for use..although we brought our own from home and used a lot of disposables. Vacuum machine was not doing a good job when i tried to vacuum sand and crumbs off the floors. House comes with a beach wagon and beach chairs but only 6 of them were somewhat usuable.. rust has left some stains on our suits and towels... the rest of them should be thrown away for safety reasons. I would come back to this home if owner would correct issues i mentioned above. Overall it is large and decent home super close to the beach. We took care of it as if it was our own home =)

Thanks for the feedback. We have refreshed the items in mention that weren't functioning to full potential. We do have the Tiki hut cabana out back with sofas, chairs and fans underneath to provide shade and a cooler environment for those that want it.

We just left this house and while we loved the outside the inside was a fight all week long with cockroaches everywhere both upstairs and downstairs. The back bathroom by the pool that everyone essentially needs to use throughout the day if they're hanging outside is literally smaller than a typical closet and to get out to the pool you have to walk through the bathroom and shower which essentially makes that entire bathroom impossible to use if you have people coming in and out frequently. The upstairs is much nicer than the downstairs but the downstairs kitchen was not convenient for use at all, very small and zero utensils at all. The beach access while close is also not great because it is a small sliver of beach surrounded by private property so people get all jam packed in it and there's no room to actually relax at all. Overall it was liveable for the week but definitely not what we were expecting for the price we paid and by far the poorest experience we have had renting a house In Destin which we do often ):

Overall, the house was great. Enough room and not far from the beach at all. I do wish both floors were connected, instead of having to use outside stairs for second floor. But, that didn’t stop us from having a great time.

Great location and great pool- house was good, but could use some updates

Overall we had a great stay- we LOVED the location and pool! The house is split into two separate units, with 2br/2ba upstairs and 3br/2ba downstairs. The stairs are located outside, which we were told about when we booked (not a big deal for us because we are all 35+). Overall, having the 3br (including the bunk room) but only 2 baths downstairs was a bit challenging. Additionally the downstairs bathroom is accessible from the pool area, meaning that the folks downstairs have to schedule showers/toilet time carefully (or carry everything upstairs). Parking is also a bit challenging (3 cars max), but the owner/rep (who was very nice) gave us some potential options for parking off-site. In the long run we just found a way to travel all 12 of us in 3 cars. The pool is very private and is where we spent most of the time! Very nice and plenty of room for all of us. The house itself is older and yes, could use some updates, but everything worked as needed (including the A/C) and served the purpose. Overall it was a great stay and would happily book again for a “friends group”! Thanks!

The house could use some updating. The couch in the living room looked like the legs were taken off and just sitting on the floor. The back door to the pool needs to have a more day access to go out to pool. My daughter in law fell twice do to the fact the step fell off the blocks. I would have liked a mop to clean every couple days.. The front of the house lights were burned out and I called they were fixed the next day. I did call and tell her the dishes in both units were put away dirty. I was hoping for a refund for at least that. Location was great the heated pool was great but on Friday the heat seemed to be off but it rained anyway so I just let it go. Ellen was cordial and tried to be helpful but again I expected something for doing all the dishes before we could use them.

Overall experience was good. Location was great having the beach right across the street. Upper level was outstanding. Bottom level not so much, damp, strong odor, and felt like a basement. Pool area was nice.

Overall experience was great. Outdoor area was great and you don’t get much closer to the beach. The rooms downstairs could use some updating, but location was key! We had a great time!

Do NOT rent this house! It's falling apart and is a safety hazard.

This house was a nightmare! Myself and 8 other adults rented this house to celebrate my Sister's 50th birthday. The check in process was smooth. As we all out settled in we've noticed several issues with the home. The house was dirty and animal hair ( 1 guest has cat allergy thought this was a pet free home) was on the couches and in the beds. The house keeper didn't change the sheets on the beds. We had to wash the sheets ourselves in order to sleep comfortably and get a good night's rest. The downstairs ensuite bathroom has mold and rust( respiratory hazard #1)as well was water damage to the closet door. This house has roaches/ water bugs. The upstairs hall bathroom shower was clogged and overflowed the bathroom. We called maintenance. Sean showed up to snake the the clogged shower and there was all kinds of sewage coming out of the shower. Also, the showers was so clogged it cause water from the upstairs bathroom to leak in the downstairs kitchen light fixture. (Electrical fire hazard) Sean checked the light fixture and the water from the fixture spilled all over the kitchen table where we had our eating utensils. Sean l, said he needed to call a plumber to come out but they never showed up. So we were without a bathroom because the plumbing issues wasn't resolved. I sent pictures and video of all the issues and the property manager only apologized , removed the cleaning fee and turned on the pool heater. I requested a partial refund for the safety conditions but they refused. This house is listed for sale. They space is nice but as states above it's not being well kept. They present this property as if its 5 star accommodations and prices but it's 2star. They have rules and if they aren't met they will fine you for everything. 2 Star service with 5 Star standards. The worst service and acccomarions I've ever experienced in my life. I want a refund NOW! Save yourself and DONOT rent this house!

Good but could have been better

Great outdoor area and pool. Beach access less than 1/2 block, bu t only to tiny overcrowded beach space between 2 hotels. Distribution of the house was not optimum. In reality it’s two apartments that are not interconnected. Bedding was fairly new and comfortable. The rest of the house however needs to be renovated and refurnished. TV’s were good.

Great Vacation

Not only was the property clean the entire place was great. Had all the things other placed don't have like Toile paper and soap. Plenty of towels. AC fantastic, view good. Beds great. ONLY issue was the time the dryer and washer took to get things done. Small price for such a nice place ...

Family vacation

We loved our stay at Salty Skipper pool was wonderful. The upstairs was wonderful. The downstairs needs updated. Some furniture needs replaced also. Would rent again. Proximity to the beach was great.

This house met our expectations. It is in a great location, the only location better would have been beach front. There is quite a bit of repairs needed, but it was clean.

Great location and property!

My family had a wonderful vacation at the Salty Skipper! It is very close to the beach and the pool is great. The floor plan worked out good for us and we really enjoyed our stay.
