This is a wonderful house for a group. A number of great spaces to be by yourself or with others. The views from the great room upstairs are gorgeous and expansive. The kitchen was small and well- stocked. Plenty of linens and paper goods. Why I didnât give this property 5 stars:- there only non-dorm like bedroom that could sleep more than one person . The first floor master bedroom was gorgeous as was the bathroom. There was a quiet split for AC. The other bedrooms had very noisy window air conditioners- the cottage was musty and in need of a redo. There was a towel on the window as a drape. Not a big deal but we had to utilize that building for our family. Needed a dehumidifier. We enjoyed the beautiful porch and grounds. Nice road to walk a dog.
We loved staying at this property and the host was fantastic. Everything was excellent except the kitchen which was fine but dark and some appliances did not work. The yard is perfect, and the extra spaces are a huge plus! highly recommended!
We had a wonderful girlsâ weekend get away at this beautiful home. Everything you need! Gorgeous sunset views and easy to get into town and to the beach.
We had a lovely stay enjoying both the houses and the grounds. My husband and I stayed in the little house while my daughter, her husband and teens stayed in the big house. Everyone enjoyed their accommodations and there was plenty of room on the porch for us to socialize with social distancing!
So comfortable, relaxing and so well equipped- this home made the perfect much-needed vacation. More than enough beds, great use of space and a kitchen that felt like home with all the appliances, pots, silverware and everything else. We had 7 adults most of the week and added 3 more for a few nights; plenty of room to socialized and be separate at the same time. Beautiful yard, nice location
We stayed over Christmas. It rained but the home was large spacious and welcoming! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed family time together. The owners were fabulous to deal with. Very responsive and honest and flexible which was very much appreciated as we were traveling with a sick relative. Very happy with our stay!
The setting was inspiring. That included the ability to see a variety of water birds from the second floor windows. The house had everything one could have wanted and more. The decor was elegant, relaxing and rustic. Everything went above and beyond what we expected. Especially suited to a big family or two families.
The main house and cottage were both great - everything we needed and more.
The house, cottage and grounds were very clean and well maintained. We had a few unforeseen issues (lightening strike nearby caused a power outage, etc) and host was very quick to respond and make enquiries in order to assist and resolve the problems. Outside the house, we enjoyed the firepit and using the kayaks in the salt marsh channels. It was the perfect place for our family reunion -- next time we'll try to organize slighly sunnier weather ;-)
We just returned from a fantastic, multi-generational family vacation.
My 91 year old father was able to have his own private space after hanging with a loud group of his kids and extended family.
Charlene and Jackie made everything so so easy - making us feel so welcome. The property is absolutely PERECT. Just what we we were looking for.
We had beach time, card games, kayaking, long walks, shopping, cocktails, a Canal Cruise, drives to P-Town...
The list goes on. So much to do - and options for everyone.
Can't wait to go back.
This property is perfect for any stay on the Cape but especially multi-age folksâŠthere is something for everyone from house toys and games, beach toys, water toys, kayaks, bikes, spacious yard. There are lots of spaces in the house for late sleepers, early wakers, porch sitters, grill masters and on and on! The kitchen is fully equip of cookingâŠwhich we did. ( Only thing we didnât find was a muffin tinđ€Ł) Morning sweet tooth easily satisfied by short walk to Snowy Owl for delicious coffee and pastries. Communication with Jackie and Charlene was a pleasure! All sad to leave at the end of a great week!
Spent five days with our children/grandchildren and two large grand-dogs at this wonderful home, after not being able to see them for a very long time due to COVID restrictions. Although our daughter and son-in-law both needed to work for the first two days (virtually), it was easy for each of them to find spaces in the house where they could use the internet without disruptions or distractions. The home also is set up in a way that certain areas can be closed off to minimize noise from early risers or for quiet conversations or alone time. The fire pit was a hit! Did get to use the bikes, but bring your own helmets and locks. Too cold for kayaks. Large enclosed garage was perfect for active games during the two rainy and windy days. Watching the changes/birds on the marsh was fascinating. The town is laid back, quiet, with excellent takeout choices. We also appreciated that everyone wore masks when we were in the town or at several more tourist oriented sites. House is extremely well equipped and the owners are accessible and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home!
We began each day with coffee on the porch overlooking the marsh while the kids slept in; An absolutely perfect and peaceful way to start the day! And we enjoyed closing the day with camp fires in the fire pit.
The generosity our hosts, Charlene and Jackie, was apparent. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, the beach towels were in ample supply, and kayaks and beach supplies were all available for our enjoyment. Jackie and Charlene checked in to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and to make sure that we were enjoying our stay. We really came to feel as if we were being hosted by family.
This house especially appealed to us because it was pet friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and nicely furnished it was. The town of Sandwich is very pet friendly, and our dogs enjoyed all the attention they got when we were out on our walks.
The location was great and offered something for everyone. We were able to walk into town, to the beach or to mini-golf. We kayaked out to the beach from a creek right next to the house. The canal and bike path was just a short distance away. The restaurants were great, and the people incredibly friendly.
We are grateful for the time we spent in this home and on this beautiful property, and highly recommend it!
Good location with nice views, great common spaces
We had a group of 8 staying for 6 nights in early July, 7 adults and 1 teenager. The location was good, convenient to shops/restaurants in Sandwich and close to the boardwalk. The view of the marshes, boardwalk, and out to the ocean was really nice. There were a lot of positives with this house. It is a unique layout with some really nice common areas (kitchen, living room, dining room, sun room, large deck, and an upstairs common room with great views) and there are spaces for everyone to hang out...together or separately. The kitchen and pantry are well stocked and it had everything you might need...in many cases 2 of everything you might need! The separate cottage can come in handy with another sleeping area. The yard is nice and there is a fire pit which we didn't use cause it was too hot. The provided kayaks came in handy and we had a nice kayak day putting in right by the property and kayaking out to the Boardwalk/beach area...but you definitely have to pay attention to the tides. The owners were really helpful with some tips and responded quickly if there were any questions. The only concern we had was the layout of the beds for sleeping. We couldn't tell before with the pictures how all the beds were situated in rooms, and there are a few bedrooms that are setup with multiple beds. This could work well for some families, especially with younger kids. But for our group it wasn't ideal. There are still plenty of spaces to sleep though...don't get me wrong!
Great location. Close to most everything you need. Plenty of room for the whole family and 2 dogs. Great for bike riding and kayaking. Tried several of the breakfast and sandwich shops. A good selection of food for everyone's taste buds. We even had gluten free options which was a must. Excellent meal at the Sagamore Restaurant. Hosts responded almost immediately with any questions we had. The only suggestion we would make is to have better window coverings in the cottage. It was nice and cozy but a little bright from the sun light in the morning. A very peaceful relaxington location. We had fun playing yard games during the day and board games at night. The house is near a very clean, calm beach.
This is definitely a 5-star house; not much I can add to the glowing reviews.
This is a delightful, very different house. With four separate (indoor) seating areas, a large group of people can spread out. Very generous with supplies and amenities. The view is lovely and being able to walk to the Sandwich boardwalk is wonderful. I would have liked to have seen more photos of the house in the listing. They have two big beautiful new bathrooms they should show off!
The most important factor that made me choose this house over others is the fact that 10 people can actually sit at the dining room table together.
This house was more spacious than we imagined. It is immaculate, very well equipped and, together with the adjacent cottage, served my family (ages from 87 to 15) well, both for togetherness and for privacy. The owners were very cordial and extremely helpful, answering all our questions and giving us advance notice if workmen had to come to install something new. We will certainly return to this house if our children and grandchildren from Virginia and Ohio come East again next year.
The property was better than advertised⊠amazing views, fully stocked kitchen, use of the stocked pantry and spices galore. 2 grills and a ceramic egg grill. The kayaks can be launched next to the property⊠bikes, books, games, beach chairs and fishing gear all available for use. Great views of the
marsh and ocean, quiet but close to the quaint town of Sandwich. Too many positives to list⊠Jackie and Charlene were great to deal with and available to answer any questions! Great place for families⊠and the extra cottage provides a little get away spot!
The house has lots of spaces to relax. Everything is labeled which we actually found helpful. Itâs an old house with lots of upgrades so having hints as to which switch lights what and what is in which draw was great
Every year we go on a family vacation with our children and grandchildren. Everyone agreed at the end of this one that this was definitely one of the best. The house and cottage worked out extremely well, the backyard was perfect for the kids, and the location was excellent. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family get-away.
I have been traveling to the Cape since I was in college. I love the nature, serenity and atmosphere. The local seafood is the best in the country. The beaches are beautiful. I enjoy playing golf and there are several courses in the area. There are many local places to walk, kayak and observe wildlife. The restaurants, bars and cultural experiences are excellent, including many antique shops. Although I have worked in Chicago, NYC, Atlanta and Boston, the Cape feels like home. I hope you enjoy my home and the lovely town of Sandwich.
When I found this home, I knew it was special. The home has the best of both worlds. It has many features of an old cape house, with hardwood floors, exposed brick in the kitchen and sturdy doors, yet is has modern features with an all new kitchen, large great room, updated bathrooms and bedrooms and a fabulous front porch. The million dollar view is from the upstairs great room which has many windows where you can see the great marsh, boardwalk and the Atlantic ocean. It's amazing. There is also a summer cottage located on the property suitable for a couple or adult children. The cottage is open from May through October and has an additional bedroom and bathroom.
The location of this home is convenient to the center of town, the Sandwich boardwalk and the beach. It is located on a quiet street and you can drop a kayak in the marsh at high tide. If you like to relax, enjoy an amazing view, but also take advantage of what the town has to offer, then this is perfect for you. If you like to cook, you can get fresh seafood from the Sandwich Marina and prepare an amazing meal. The Cape Cod Canal has a bike and walking path for you to take advantage of. Kayaking in the great marsh is fun for the whole family. This property has been enjoyed by many, many multigenerational families. It has areas to gather but also places to enjoy a bit of privacy.
