Location was great. Super close to everything. We were able to park for free on the other side of the canal on a side street. Kitchen was newly remodeled. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom ceiling needs to be replaced and the drawer handles in the bathroom were broken, which made it hard to open. Perfect second bedroom for kids. I felt it was a good deal for the price.
Very convenient place to stay. Close to food, shops & beach. Great kitchen to cook meals and laundry close to room. Two rooms worked well. Value for money.
This is a perfectly reasonable and affordable place to stay, it's a 15-20 min walk from the beach and reasonably close to most amenities, 7-eleven, food trucks etc.. The area around the building is a bit sus but I never felt unsafe, it was just sad to see families camping in tents nearby.Although it was entirely my fault for not realising that check in was 4pm, I do feel that 4pm is very late especially when check out is 11am. Having arrived in HNL in the morning this meant waiting for several hours with our luggage until the agent kindly gave us early access around 3pm.All in all I'm grateful for the stay, it was comfortable, easy to get in and out of and inexpensive compared to nearby hotels.
Despite the problems of the unit, i will give an honest review. The location is excellent, walking distance from food trucks/711/grocery store in central Waikiki area. Laundry convenient (washer dryer on same floor as unit), however there was flooding in the laundry room. The host was responsive when we had issues. THE ISSUES: bathroom plumbing problems for 2 days (we had to use the common bathroom on the first floor)âŠvery inconvenient especially for one of us who was pregnant and needed to pee frequently at night (we were on the 5th floor). There were ROACHES on the bed, made us felt anxious and icky throughout our stay. The unit is very old and dated, lots of rust, and to be honest not really cleanâŠthe carpets and floor look dirty and in need of a good wash. The ceiling of the bathroom looks like itâs falling apart, lots of water stains and damage. The host settled for a small refund due to the inconvenience of plumbing. If I had to do this trip over again, i would just stay at a hotel. The price for this unit may be more affordable, but book at your own risk people. Would not recommend at all.
The property was well equipped for our family and walking distance to all of waikiki, convention center and Ala Moana center. Laundry was easy to use and helpful to keep the beach towels clean. And they gave us plenty of towels. : ) We were able to cook, wifi worked well. Everything was great. Mahalo!!
The property was nice I would use it again thank you for your service I'm getting back in touch with me although I will reinforce my key rings for my fobs I would make stronger key rings for that
We definitely enjoyed the pool access and the ac I every room! The parking was a pain, definitely made more of a compact vehicle and not a minivan or suv. The building managers were very friendly and nice but the parking building security was not. Becareful not to get lost in parking lot, itâs a pain. The pool was lit up and there was more wear and tear than pictures show, but it was worth the money for the location alone. Right next door to food trucks, 20 min walk to the beach. We enjoyed our stay overall. Very prompt response for when the internet was down momentarily.
Nice little property. Clean and simple. Perfect size for four people. We were adults. The walk to the beach was not bad. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was good. Shopping close. Donât bother to rent a car. Public transportation and Uber was great. 1bathroom a little challenging but we knew that going in.
The property served the purpose we needed it to. The apartment is in need of a good exterminator for the roaches in the kitchen, and a repairman for the broken things, ie: the bathroom cold water faucet. I reported this to the manager. Not just to be a complainer but that they could fix it for the next guests . If management is going to require so many rules to be followed by the guests ( or they will lose their damage deposit) than they should have everything in the apartment in good clean condition. The location was great when we wanted to stay nearby the nearby. The price was reasonable but I donât think that should mean get comfortable with the roaches.
This property was exactly how the pictures portrayed it. It was a great place to relax between all the different activities. It was within walking distance of the beach.
small, outdated, couch is horrible, roaches, very limited utensils/glasses/ plates etc. , rough neighborhood, internet/tv was out most of our stay, air conditioner is horrible, pool ice cold, & the cops were always there, handicap entrance is deplorable you have to go to the basement thru a bunch of creepy hallways & past the dumpsters to get in/out on the other side of the building, the residents are very weird and nosy, and the best part is that my handicapped husband had to walk up 5 flights of steps several times because the elevator was not working!
The space in the property accommodated us well but there was bugs, the carpet was dirty we had to buy our own seasonings trashbags paper towels the couch needs to be upgraded itâs old and itâs not comfortable at all. We made the best of what we had because we was celebrating a graduation and birthdays.
I was excited to take my 77 year old mother and my 16 year old daughter on their first trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately, we got a rental in a sketchy neighborhood with some shady characters walking around and screaming at all times of the day. I'm from Los Angeles so I wasn't worried for myself but more for my kid & mom. This is not what I expected on our tropical getaway from The Concrete Jungle of LA. The description of the building should have included this.
In addition, the building is old and its stairs & carpet are stained, ripped and smelly, which again, put it in the description.
On one hand, the inside of the place was really cute. My mom got her own room, my husband and I had our own room and our teenager bunked on the couch. Everyone was happy to have their own space. The kitchen is well stocked with enough dishes and utensils.
The first night, we ordered some groceries and food & watched TV (plenty of channels and options!). The thin windows don't keep out any noise from the street, the pool below, or pool area from the adjacent building. There is a hospital nearby so emergency vehicles/sirens go by like every other hour.
On the other hand, was the living nightmare!!! There were ROACHES in the bathroom and kitchen crawling over counters and spreading bacteria. I couldn't sleep a wink. We tried to tough it out but we were killing too many. That, for me, is a deal breaker. The owner let us know that they were aware of the problem, they spray every month and that's why the pests were coming out, but the building manager could set traps if we wanted (put it in the description).
We got a hotel room and left the property early.
The price for the rental should be invested in some double paned windows and sliding door to knock out the noise, fix the water leak damage in the bathroom, get new carpeting, power wash the outside and get rid of the roaches.
The location and number of rooms were the definite draw. We did not want to be in the middle of the Waikiki strip.
The property managers were honest about the ambient noise (street traffic, hotel across the alley, AC noise, etc.).
The floors could have been cleaner.
Parking was a good value, but better directions or a map for the parking would have been helpful. On day one it took me 40 minutes to find my designated spot (R25). I did not know it was in a third gated lot that must be entered from Ala Wai Blvd.
Cute property at a great location. The space is efficient and classy with nice local art. A bit sparse in the kitchen but we were able to cook for six. The bedrooms are set up well for a bit of separation from the kids but definitely still close enough.
The location is convenient, 5 min drive to Waikiki beach. But the neighborhood feels unsafe. There was a bag of empty bottles falling down when we were in the secured parking lot. The room matches the description in the pictures. The floor feels sticky. Other than that, the apartment is clean.
Property was clean and had the basic equipment you would need for cooking. Appreciated that they supplied snorkel equipment and we noticed a paddle board that looked like we could have used it as well. Property is in the middle of downtown, so there was understandable city noises while you slept. Appreciated the extra blow up bed! Allowed us to spread out our sleeping a bit more with the kids.
