A perfect little home away from home nestled in the Adirondack Mountains. Our family loved this rustic cabin on a private quiet lake. Great central location to alot of fun activities and attractions. This was just what our Family needed for an end of summer get-away!
Everything was pretty super there, and there was way more space in the house than i was expecting. Access to the small nameless lake was a nice plus. It was a very pleasant getaway for my family
Less than 30 min before leaving, I received a phone call from Vacasa stating there would be no internet, wifi, nor tv during my 6 day long stay due to a storm the prior week. I asked when the internet would be restored, but got no answer. She stated I would be reimbursed $20/day for lack of internet. I told her that was not sufficient and demanded a time for resolution.I got none.I texted Vacasa for an answer and got the response of 'this issue has already been addressed.' I also had no cell service at this location.Whilst that is not their fault. I now had no ability to look up directions, find trails to hike, or even make a phone call. The router was dead. Neighbors had internet. An overwhelming smell of mildew hit us immediately on arrival. I opened all the front/back windows (spiders/webs in each corner of each window), used an entire bottle of fabreez, and bought room air fresheners. After 2 days I didn't smell the mildew when walking inside, but every time I opened a cabinet in the kitchen, the smell persisted. The kitchen had no measuring cup ($1 @ Dollar General), no oven mitts ($3), had washed out used food containers (butter) for tupperware use ($4). Not a well stocked kitchen. The beach access is only available Monday through Thursday (not mentioned in ad). The beach itself was only ~20 feet wide. The air conditioners (in bedrooms only) were poorly installed...hence the spiders, lightening bugs INSIDE the bedrooms, and a variety of other insects. I do NOT recommend.
I was not thrilled with this cabin. It was very outdated, the kitchen was on a very deep slant, in the big bathroom the shower faucet was not working properly. We showeted in the smaller bathroom and that one was fine. We had plenty og hot water and towels, it was clean. The outside of the cabon was not kept up at all.
The great room IS a great room; the rest of the house is functional. STrange that there were no instructions for cleaning up, etc., nor where to go for groceries etc. I felt awkward checking out without knowing if I should do something with the garbage. The water tasted great - no minerals in the well! I was there for a week in September and saw two people the whole time: just what I wanted! Oh, and it is pitch black and quiet at night... great sleeping!
Found this house hoping that it would be a quiet place to spend some quality time with my boys. It was. The house is older but nice, very comfortable and rustic. Having to small lake just 40 yards behind the house was awesome, me and the boys enjoyed catching some nice size Bass. The house isn't to far away from other places to check things out. We did a whitewater trip down the Hudson River, took a drive to Lake Placid and spent the day there, drove down to Lake George and spent the day down there and watched the fireworks show on the lake. And we even went and did the Adventure rope course and zip lines. A couple of days we just spen the day being lazy. We pretty much cooked our own meals and the kitchen had everything that we needed. The bedrooms were good and comfortable. The living room was nice, has a big TV to watch some shows and movies. And with 2 teen aged boys the wifi was great. Over all the house is great and I would rent it again if we decide to go back to the area again.
The house was a bit outdated however , it was very clean and extremely well stocked. Wi-Fi and phones worked for the entire week. Beautiful backyard , peaceful overlooking the lake. Vacasa exceeded our expectations as did Mike, the owner. Would absolutely do it again !
Loved the huge pond out back and the quiet! Better than expected outside! Only issue we ran into was having to reach people to send someone out to the cottage to turn on the heat, as it wasnât written anywhere on how to do it. No instructions for gas fireplace either.
Wish we had had more time there. Very spacious - eps. for just me and my daughter - and clean. We really enjoyed taking paddle board runs on the pond and playing games on the screened in porch. Perhaps a little over priced, if I had to levy any complaint.
Weâre a family of 4, 2 teenage boys and we all had a great time. The house is right on the lake and it was nice to just sit there and relax. Itâs a nice place to just get away for a few days.
I really liked the lay out of the house- 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms on the opposite sides of the house so privacy can be had between the 2 rooms! Also, I really liked the pond that is in the back of the house- we loved using the paddle boat that was provided! The only complaint I have is the âbeachâ area of the pond is pretty overgrown with grass and weeds which made it undesirable to swim in. Also the water pressure in the shower was not good. But, overall, this was a great stay for outdoor fun and I would highly recommend!
This is a beautiful spot and just the right size for 2-4 people who want a quiet get-away. It is simple and not luxurious. Everything was clean and well laid out. We brought clothes, food and drink, and needed no additional supplies. The living room, in particular, is so cozy and comfortable, and what a treat to go for a quick swim whenever the feeling hit. This is located on a small pond, so if you really want boating, you need to transport your boat to the launch on Brant Lake, just down the road.
Very nice place to stay, living room is not as bright as in the pictures, but a nice place. Great pond out back for spending time peacefully
Floating in the water. The refrigerator is starting to go, didnât keep ice cream frozen and very loud. some evidence on the counters of mice.
Quiet, comfy, home tucked back in the woods on a pond -- but with all the electronic "hook ups" ...
Convenient location to all points north and south (near I-87 Interchange at Chestertown) so both near to everything you'd want to do, but still a peaceful and quiet getaway.
