Had a wonderful time. Beach was amazing and steps from the porch. House was clean and perfect for our family. Will definitely come back and stay again.
House is as described. Needs a deep cleaning and some upgrades but the location is perfect. Also, loved the deck. Hosts were incredible. We got locked out and they met us to give us another key. Recommend that they upgrade to a keyless entry.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
We enjoyed our stay. The color scheme and beach theme decor was perfect! House had everything we needed and even extra things weâve never seen at other beach rentals, such as the aloe gel for sunburns which I needed after we went kayaking in St Augustine! The beach was wonderful and uncrowded. There were literally maybe 20 people as far as we could see in either direction during the week. Now for the bummer news: We both have chigger bites on our feet and ankles. I found string in the shed and tied the vegetation up. Plants were completely grown over at the bottom of the deck steps so tying it up gave us a small path to get away from most of the chiggers. We killed three roaches in the master bedroom and bathroom on three different days. On our last night, after a storm, I was up at 3:30 AM with water dripping beside my head. Weâve rented beach houses every year for our anniversary and this is the first time weâve had chiggers, roaches and a leaking ceiling. I contacted the owner. No response.Be prepared for traffic noise day and night as the road is about 10 feet from the house.
We enjoyed our stay very much! The location is perfect! The communication with the owner was very fast and helpful. Perfect!! 10PerWerecommended. We can't
The inside of the house was nice and clean. The path to the beach was very overgrown and hard to walk through. Beach was nice and quite. We got locked out our first night there. There were 2 keys in the lock box they were not labeled. I thought they would be the same key. We were going to share the keys. I gave one to another member of my family and I kept one. We went to the beach with me carrying my key with me. When we got back that key wouldn't open any of the doors!! Turns out the key that i kept was to the small shed under the house. We were locked out. I hadn't taken my phone with me to the beach so I had no way of contacting the host. We had to get a hotel room to stay that first night, Thankfully with the kindness of some locals we were able to get the information to the relator for the property and she tried contacting the host for us. She was unable to reach her but she kindly came herself and let us in the next morning. We were able to get the other key and found out it would only open the one door by the kitchen. It would not open any of the other doors. I would recommend more detailed information about the keys and which doors they will open to be given before check in. It could have saved a lot of stress for us.
The house was right on the beach and perfect for our family visit. Although the house has some age, it is well kept, clean and perfect accommodations for on the beach. It is close to St Augustine for a quick visit but far enough away from the heavy traffic. We loved this house and hosts are very quick and helpful to respond.
Most days we had the beach to ourselves. Owners were wonderful and made sure we had plenty of blankets for the unexpected cold weather during our stay. Area under house is nice to hang out when raining and donât want to sit inside.
It was a cozy home with lovely access to the beach and not as much stairs which was nice for the wagon to be pulled. I liked the gates that kept the porch enclosed and it was big enough to use my 10x10 to provide shade.
Cons - disappointed with overall upkeep/cleanliness. We battled cockroaches inside and wasps outside.
Pros - 3 bed, 2 bath was perfect for our family of 4, i loved being able to have our dog with us, beach cart was awesome for taking all of our stuff out to the beach each day. Amazing view, just steps from the beach. We found over 40 shark teeth while we were there! Close drive to St. Augustine.
The pros outweighed the cons by far! We had a great week. A good deep clean and visit from an exterminator should clear everything right up :)
We had an excellent stay at this charming beach house. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We planned this location because I knew it was more remote than others and in this crazy time that is exactly what we wanted. I was right. We literally has this gorgeous beach to ourselves. We did not venture out to the excellent restaurants around, but the Publix is a quick 10 minute drive. I was pleased to discover a very well stocked convenient store (food, charcoal, bait, ice etc) one mile down the road which made things very easy. If you are looking for modern and fancy this house is not for you. This is a small, well equipped house steps to the beach. Everything we needed for an excellent stay with family. Kim was very quick to answer all my questions and concerns. We will definitely be back.
Weâve stayed in South Ponte Vedra for the last 5 years at a different place a couple miles south of this one. Itâs not listed on VRBO now and we found this one for a little less money. We were very satisfied. Really glad we found it! Kim was quick to call or text back when we had a couple questions. The location is very private. Beach is not crowded at all. And you can be to St Augustine in 10 minutes or so.
We were concerned staying right after the hurricane hit but Kim was very good at keeping in contact with us. There were a few hiccups - A/C Unit and Security system was out - likely from the hurricane and we were able to get them resolved pretty fast. The view made everything worth it though - beautiful balcony and can sit on the couch and see the ocean. It is literally steps from the beach which was great traveling with an older parent. My one critique is that the beds could use an overhaul, especially the one across from the master - it was very squeaky. Overall, we had a fabulous stay!
I'm struggling between a 3 & 4 star rating.
The good: literally on the beach. The deck is fantastic with a full ocean view. Sitting out there watching the sun rise in the ocean breeze and listening to the waves pounding (it was very breezy during our stay) was priceless. If you want some private beach solitude this is a great choice. Most morning walks were without anybody else out there. A seashell collector's paradise! It was clean. Allows pets (thank you)! A great "hole-in-the-wall" place to eat where the locals go is 180 Vilano grill in Vilano Beach. Lots of nature excursions in the area to do. St. Augustine is a short drive away. Upscale Ponte Vedra is also a short drive away with lots of good restaurants.
The other: the home is older. It would do this property a great service to replace the 40 y/o laminate counters with granite. It would absolutely upgrade the look of the entire interior and give a much better first impression walking in. The strange dark brick-colored tile choice for the floors was interesting. I paced it out and the house is 42 feet from A1A (like all the others). The first night's sleep is non-existant esp. if you're in either of the two bedrooms facing the road as you can hear every car zoom by. There were a couple creepy crawlies so I would suggest an occasional visit by the Orkin man.
