The property was clean. Fridge and stove worked well. Check in was easy. Location (easy beach access, across from Publix, near causeway and downtown Cocoa Beach) was excellent. Beds were uncomfortable, Furnishings were very dated.A AC worked well but was loud. Toilet has an airlock that sounds like a jackhammer just before itâs filled.
The property is in need of a great deal of repairs. It has not been maintained properly. The flooring is laminate with big gaps and cracks. You need to wear sock or shoes or else risk getting slivers in your feet. The toilet sounds like a jack hammer when flushing. The neighbours will ask you to refrain from flushing it at night if possible. The owner will tell you itâs a problem with the building plumbing however the other units do not have this issue. Just ask the neighbours. All appliances are very old and dirty. Definitely bring your own sheets and towels or you will be buying them. The place is full of junk. The owner is abusive and deceitful.Make sure all communication with him is on the VRBO chat. Do not trust him. The toilet broke after 2 weeks of us being there and the owner is not able to fix it. The part that broke is the plastic part of the handle that the chain connects to in the toilet tank. He told us it was our fault as we pressed down on the handle too hard. The most ridiculous comment he could make. It is a piece of plastic which he admits has never been changed. Plastic that sits in chlorinated water becomes brittle and will break which anyone who has looked after a property with plumbing will tell you is a common problem. It has nothing to do with pulling a toilet handle too hard which sounds impossible. There are 4 reviews on this owner and unit and 3 are negative. Think about it before considering renting it. We made a complaint to VRBO.
The condo was in dire need of painting and cleaning, food splatters in the kitchen and cooking items and furniture were not moved in a while and it was dirty. Dead bugs and cockroaches were found under the couch and tables. We couldnât cook because the utensils were dirty and the stove was badly stained. The refrigerator was clean and worked well. Screens were shredded so you couldnât open windows to air out the musty smell.
The living room and condo was nicely decorated and the landlord had a nice flair for art, but when I grabbed the doorwall blind to adjust it my hand needed to be washed. Bedding was clean and mattresses were good but behind the headboard hadnât been cleaned for awhile. The bathroom was not kept well and the ceiling had a leak that caused the flooring in the hallway to warp.
This place reminded me of apartments that I would buy that needed repairs and painting, but I would never rent something like this without making it livable. It should be shut down and fixed up before itâs rented again. I wonder if the landlord has visited this place in the past six months.
