We really enjoyed our stay! It was comfortable, relaxing and a very convenient location for exploring the Mt St Helens area. Dan stopped by to check on us. We enjoyed chatting and appreciated the pointers offered. Very quiet area, nice porch and the kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you for a great stay!
The cabin was cozy and comfortable, beautifully decorated, and well appointed. It had everything we needed and our visit there was relaxing and restirative. We hope to stay there again soon!
It was a wonderful little cabin. Its simplicity is what made it special. Itâs close to the lake, but secluded enough to be quiet, private, and comfortable. Host was very friendly and property was clean. I definitely would recommend and will definitely be back myself.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was delayed several years and so glad we finally made it back for Thanksgiving. Charming, cozy, warm and very thoughtfully cabin-ey. They never MOOSE an opportunity to pay tribute to our antlered fiends, either. Hope to stay again next year.
The front porch was a peaceful place to relax in the morning and share a few laughs at night. Although the lake access was across the street, it was not a long walk and it was a fantastic spot with a view of the mountain on a clear day. It is a somewhat steep driveway, so walking back up to the cabin with gear might be worth considering. I was glad I brought the wagon. Outside of the cabin, there are lots of hiking adventures nearby that I wish we had more time to explore, we took Dan's suggestions to visit the nearby sediment dam trail for an easy hike where my older dog was allowed, then stopped in at the forest learning center to touch and learn about native plants, animals and the Mt St Helen's explosion. We stopped by the Bigfoot center a little too early and only got to see the outside exhibit. Now we will have to plan another trip to see the bigfoot evidence!
Great little cabin, perfect getaway for a couple. Beautiful lake, husband had fun fishing. Other comments on small kitchen and refrigerator, we stayed for five days, brought all our food and had no problem. Just used our cooler for cans. Comfortable bed. Only comment would be to have a couch (foldout bed if necessary) in living room instead of a bed.
The cabin is charming with a rustic feel. Cute decor everywhere! The fireplace was fully set up with wood ready to go and had the nicest fire! There are two beds to sleep in, a bathroom with a small shower and heated lamp. A nice vanity is there as well. Small fridge and kitchen with utensils, tea, spices, and some other essentials. Wifi, smart TV, board games and dvd's. The porch outside is nice to sit and be immersed in the forest. The owner, Dan is very friendly and will answer any questions.
Cheyenne, my fur baby, and I had a wonderful stay. As a kayaker, I loved the location and access to lakes on and around Mt. St. Helens. The cabin was cozy and very comfortable. Loved sitting on the porch, even in the rain. Both beds were very comfortable. The only negative was the arrangement of the living room. There is no place to sit to watch TV or read except on the bed. Maybe a comfortable couch/hide-a-bed would be better. Overall, though, it was a very enjoyable week-long personal retreat, I didn't even mind the all the rain.
I love this place and location. My family and dogs love this place as well. It's really cozy but what I didn't like that It's dirty and dusty like they haven't clean the place in a long time. Lots of spider web and spider like over the place inside the cabin, yes, I know its on the woods but it doesn't mean that it can get clean before you have an arrival. Also,it's such a cute and small place that It's really overwhelming that is full of bear stuff like a lots all over the place and that takes alots of space for the things that you bring for your family. We didn't use the water dispenser definitely not the bench/couch in there super useless and hard to seat on. But overall it was a good experience and I do recommend.
This cabin is comfortable and tucked away on a hillside, a 2min walk to the community dock and boating area. Looks fun in summer but we were fortunate to have a snowy getaway in a this rustic cabin in the woods w/ fun nature inspired decor. Besides the cable tv, this is a classic cabin where time slows down. Ideal for 2 adults yet my family of 4 w/ 2 tweens got along just fine in the cozy space. Bed w/ a bench w/ back and kitchen table w/ 4 chair fills the main space; a bedroom w/ a queen bed is situated behind a fold out "accordian" privacy door. The fireplace provides good warmth -- needs persistent feeding and there is plenty of wood on site (we turned off the electric space heaters). Stove with small burners did the job, oven worked fine. Like every rental house, consider bringing your own cookware, cutlery/board, and coffee set-up if you prefer your own tools of trade. The front porch is fantastic for sitting back. We enjoyed the Silver Lake loop hike just minute drive down the 504, enjoyed snowshoeing at higher elevation toward St. Helens, and we awed by the beauty of the Toutle River Basin, a geological wonder. Owner Dan was very friendly and accomodating. All of my family enjoyed this place and we look forward to returning. If you like getting back to the basics, this is a good fit for you.
Small, simple accommodations. Perfect if you are looking for a simple place to stay. Close to town and also Mt. St Helens activities. We were able to go to both North and South Park areas with a little driving. We would book again.
The cabin was clean, cozy and charming with a short walk to the dock for some fishing each morning. Parking made loading and unloading easy and convenient.
Nice location, quiet, peaceful. Abundance of bear & moose decor was cute. Comfortable bed in main area, but would have been nice to have a comfortable chair or sofa to sit on for reading or watching tv. Well stocked, decent kitchen though oven/range very old/iffy.
Dan is a Fire Commissioner for the Cowlitz County Fire District #3 as well as Silvelake Flood Control Director and is very involved in community projects.
Dan was raised in this area. He moved back to this area early on and he and his previous wife raised their children here. Dan has very much enjoyed catering to guests and has met and made many good friends from all over the world including the Queen of Englands Page and lady in waiting.
The amazing views of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier over Silverlake are breathtaking. It is common to see deer, and rabbits along with other species feeding on the ever so fertile ground. The peace and serenity that surrounds you will surely make your stay a memorable one.
