Was fantastic very clean owners were there to make sure that we needed nothing else very cute cottage home could not have found a better place to stay will do it again next time were in OKC
The house is quaint and comfortable located in a great neighborhood. Owners are super nice and I appreciated the welcome call to make sure everything was great. Definitely recommend staying here!!
we stayed in this charming house for 3 weeks, and it was the perfect âhome baseâ for our extended family visit to ok. monte and jan have put together a lovely getaway, and we look forward to staying again!
We really felt at home while we were there. The rooms were very comfortable and our dogs loved the backyard. The location is convenient to most of the city and all of our favorite places to eat.
We will definitely stay here on our future visits.
This is not only a gorgeous house with plenty of space for 6+ guests, but the proximity is extremely close to Oklahoma City University, Bricktown, downtown. Highly recommend and have already booked a return visit.
You never know if you're in the right neighborhood until you get there...and man, we found it. We enjoyed this large, quiet home (it's bigger than it looks) and eclectic neighborhood. Just a few blocks away we found tasty eateries. We especially loved spending evenings with our 2 kids at the school park...it seems all of the cute dogs come out at around 6pm. We definitely recommend staying here! OKC is a great city!
This was a historic and quant home. It has a wonderful history which added to it's charm. The owner, Monte, was wonderful and assisted us on a few occasions during a 2 night stay. We left some personal belongings at the house and he went out of his way to get them mailed to us. I wish we had a few more days to explore this area and stay in this home.
When I arrived the owner was quick to contact me and walk me through the house over the phone. He was very accommodating, wanting to make our stay the best it could possibly be.The house is very well kept up. It was clean. The owner obviously takes very good care for the property. The neighborhood, though older, feels safe. I think many investors and owners in the area see the potential for this neighborhood and are actively seeking to fix up these older homes so that they could be enjoyed for many years to come. Thanks for the pleasant stay.
The best rental experience Iâve had! My husband and I stayed for 7 nights while I took a class and he worked remotely. From the beginning, Monteâs communication was top notch. When we arrived, we were blown away by the âcozinessâ of the house. It immediately felt like home. It was spotless, much larger than anticipated, and had the most amazing houseplants! Monte even called to make sure everything was good upon check-in. The location is walkable to the Plaza District and we walked there many times in the evenings. I will absolutely recommend this house to anyone traveling to OKC. And we will be back!
My college-aged daughter and I enjoyed this lovely 1920s era home for two nights. Our family frequently travels, and we always attempt to stay in private residences. This charming home is among our top 5 places in which we've had the privilege to stay. It maintains its lovely historical architecture but has all the modern comforts. Cleanliness and safety are our two priorities, and this home did NOT disappoint. The home was very clean, well appointed, comfortable, and safe. Throughout the home there are well tended live plants. This beautiful touch adds to the feeling that you are truly enjoying a home and not just a place to lay your head during a stop along the road. I was also delighted that Monte called to check in on us and offer some tips about the home and the area. He was extremely cordial and his effort to make us feel at home was most welcomed. We would not hesitate to stay again and if our travels take us to OKC in the future, this is far and away the home in which we would hope to stay.
This place is absolutely gorgeous! This home is very well maintained, absolutely clean and tidy and looks exactly like in the pictures. It is even bigger than expected and we definitely felt like home. Our hosts always made sure there was nothing missing. The house is situated in a quiet, nice neighborhood with great access to the interstate as well as every other place in the city including some great restaurants and shops just in walking distance. This house was the best experience we ever had when staying in the city during the past years! We can highly recomment it! Monte and Jan, thank you once more for this wonderful time! We're looking forward to seeing you again soon!!!
This home looks exactly like the pictures. It is bigger than expected and was the best experience and place we have stayed in the city. Monte made sure we had everything we needed and the home is obviously well maintained. Plenty of food options and grocery stores in the neighborhood and some cool restaurants to walk to for brunch or a quick bite. We will definitely be back.
Monte and Jan could not have made things easier. This house is cozy and has plenty of space. In a neighborhood easily walkable to entertainment. Highly recommend!
We lived in this home the first 2 years of marriage and even though our lives dictated we move away. We kept the house as a rental since 1982. All four of our grown children have rented it as young adults. We've had long term renters, most good and some bad. We chose not to renew the last lease agreement and reclaimed our home for other people and travelers to enjoy.
A historic and eclectic area with friendly neighbors in what historians say is Oklahoma City's first middle class neighborhood. A vintage home in a preserved historic neighborhood built for JC Penneys good friend, Somerville Gilchrist. His first store manager in Oklahoma City. The home is largely preserved as built. Nine foot ceilings and original untouched maple woodwork. Original tile fireplace, hardwood floors and an entry room (for Rose Gilchrists baby grand piano) instead of an open front porch. As soon as you enter you will immediately feel at home.
