The hot tub was not working, even though it said it was available online in April 2025. Body hair was found on sheets and pillows smelled like body odor. Bathroom rugs were wet and dirty. Also found contact lens, hair, and dirt on bathroom mats. Fireplace did not work. Sliding window on patio door doesn't stay open. Pictures on listing did not match the amenities found inside the townhouse.
What was not communicated to us before arrival:Dishwasher out of orderHot tub out of order until 2026MOLD, RUST AND TERRIBLE ODOR in master shower - I actually wore flip flops in thereThermostat is locked and they will not provide you with PIN code. You have no control of the temperature in the house. If youâre lucky enough to get a timely response back from the property mgr (it took 18 hrs for me), youâll be instructed to open the windows. Other inconveniences:Sheets did not smell freshCouch had a very strong odorCleaning was late so we had to wait 45 minutes past the 4pm check-in timeKeypad lock out of order so we waited another 20min to get into the house with a physical keyCommunication was marginal at bestThe positives:Master bed is comfortableLocation is amazing, restaurants and shops are walking distance Strong Wi-Fi
Great ski-in location for a family. Daylodge and lifts are a stroll across the street. Unit was comfortable and well equipped. We will definitely be looking forward to renting here again for our winter family adventures.
Vacasa and this location at Garmisch in Girdwood exceeded our expectations. We would 10/10 recommend staying here. Steam shower and hot tub felt like a spa next to the all the amenities within walking distance. A dream for any traveler! Vacasa has been top notch with great customer/call support. Thank you! We canât wait to return!
Who needs amenities when you are right next to the mountain? The pillows are flat, there aren't any cups or many kitchen items, and the lighting is terrible. Hot tub is nice but exposed, but steam shower is great. Needs a renovation.
House is an amazing location! However, the sleeping rooms are not accurate. The loft does not hold a double bed, so do not plan to utilize for a couple. The bed was a foam mattress that was smaller than a twin. Additionally, the room with bunks is extremely small, it is not set up like photos and leaves no room to move or even utilize the closets. Location and cleanliness was great.
This townhome was a perfect location for those skiing at Alyeska. You not only could see the mountain but were a short walk away from one of the lifts. Upon arrival, we were informed the hot tub was not functioning and while we lost a day/night of use, thankfully it was fixed the next day. A few minor discomforts; like a broken coffee pot, couch cushions had such indents you fell into holes, and no coffee table. But overall a great rental for our ski weekend. our stay was 2 couples so the 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms was really nice.
We had a weekend in Girdwood to hike and relax. The house was a great. It was clean and we had plenty of space for all of us. A few things were less than ideal. The couches are awful, very uncomfortable with the support boards and springs poking you when you're sitting . The air unit did not work. There were instructions given but we could not change the temperature. For a humid and warm weekend it was stuffy inside, even with windows open. The dishwasher did not work. However, the place was clean, stocked with towels, and necessities in case we forgot any. And walking distance to basically everything in town.
This condo is located (rated it 5 stars) next to one of Alyeska resortâs ski lifts.
Building is aged and in some respect not updated as it should be ( rated it 2 for cleanliness and accuracy).
Unit has only one bedroom with queen size bed. The other room has two bunk beds. So one family with four kids would do fine .
Overall we have it rated a 3.
Management was responsive to texts and professional.
I do not think they have to be blamed for the condoâs shortcomings. I only wish they would communicate the arrival details and checking in sooner than 12 hours prior since most travelers are on route to Alaska by the time email or text arrives.
We would probably look for a different place next time but thatâs only us.
No hard feelings only great memories that we will cherish for years to come.
Walking distance to lifts and resturants. Amazing living room, kitchen and nook for movies and board games after a long day with everything you need. Spacious bathrooms, perfect bunk and loft area for kids. Hot tub is clean, relaxing with Unbeatable view. HIGHLY recommend.
The good:
The location is terrific. Walking distance to the learning area and chairlift. The hot tub was warm and the views were incredible.
The bad:
Parking is pretty much nonexistent for any more than one vehicle. When we stayed here in March, the driveway had a nearly impassable section of ice and packed snow (think giant speed bumps) that our rental AWD van could barely navigate. The pictures on the listing make the unit look much larger than it actually is. The couch is in rough shape and youâre basically sitting on the wooden supports.
The worst:
The home alarm decided to randomly go off at 4am on our departure day. I assume the property owner set it to arm at a certain time remotely. Easily one of the loudest things Iâve ever experienced. Kids are freaking out, wife is freaking out. Tried calling the alarm company and they wouldnât silence it because we didnât have a PIN number. Tried calling the property management company but was waiting for over an hour. We ended up packing up and leaving at 5am. Pretty frustrating to say the least. I highly suggest management disarms the security system or including instructions on how to disarm.
I would recommend this property to a couple or groups 4 or less. Anymore than that and itâs pretty tight.
So conveniently located near the Day Lodge, we could walk to the lift any time. The best part was sitting in the hot tub at night, looking up at the mountain.
Location of this townhome made the ski day so easy. Only travelled with 2 couples so each bedroom having an en suite bathroom was very nice. Hot tub was not in working condition our first day and night but fix was addressed and completed by property management. The downside to this rental was the furniture of lack there of; broken coffee pot, no coffee table and the couch felt as if it had holes in it to sit it. Overall, we really enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub and ease of access to the slopes in Girdwood! Would look to rent again depending on size of group. Thank you.
Fantastic getaway in the perfect location. Loved the hot tub and the fireplace! Could use a little light maintenance though, we tightened the barstools ourselves as they were a little scary wobbly. Bunk beds need tightened and closet doors in a couple closets were damaged. A few more cleaning supplies would help visitors keep the place nice (no broom/dustpan or vacuum) and we had to go buy toilet paper for our four night stay. Minor issues with a wonderful place!
There was a lot of stuff that was broken. The keypad on the door was not useable, the ice machine and water dispenser on the fridge did not work, several of the windows had notes to not open them and the bunk beds were uncomfortable. The pillows for the beds were flat and the duvet covers did not have comforters in them. The couches were broken in several places.
Very clean, lots of wood. Even though it is narrow and long, it is spacious. Enjoyed the steam shower and hot tub. We were a party of 7. The second bedroom for 4-5people with 2 doubles and 2 bunks was tight. Nice big kitchen. The sofas in living room getting soft and sink to bottom but otherwise lots of room to hang out.
After Airbnb last minute cancelled our reservations elsewhere we were saved by homeaway and vacasa! This place was nice. Lower level bedrooms (each with own baths - master has a sweet steam shower!) and laundry. Upstairs was open concept living, dining and kitchen with a loft. Loft was nice but fairly hot with no opening windows. Place has seen some abuse (few broken lights, dishes and drawers). But overall a great experience. Nice view up the mountain but feels a little less than private with neighbors all around and windows looking right at you and your hot tub area. Nice activities in the area, a good park, and Whittier tunnel and glaciers just down the road. Donât miss the AWCC for bears wolves and more!
