Curtis Stay

Overall great stay, the bar wasn't loud at all and downtown quieted down at night. There is no laundry onsite.

Wonderful stay

I’m so happy to have spent some quiet time here with my two kids. Mornings watching the sunrise, boys out on the boat, dinner together. This is a good central location for UP hikes, 45 minutes to Pictured Rock. Thank you for a great stay!

Clean nice place to stay after ice fishing all day. We enjoyed the lake access right from the property. And both bars had good food.

Nice cabin

We come to Curtis every year during the week between Christmas and New Years for nice family ice fishing vacation. This was our first time staying at Dennis’s place. We enjoyed our stay. Dennis was very nice and always prompt in responding to us.

Lake Life

Wonderful location. Clean, all amenities in good working order. Plenty of linens. Super comfy pillows. All cooking utensils, pots and pans were excellent. Exceeded expectations. The view the deck and the little beach out front were wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

The cabin was wonderful!

The cabin was great; however, we were not aware that overflow parking for the local bars was next door to the cabin. With it being summer and leaving windows open it got very loud in the middle of the night. The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything you could need.

Perfect location. Close to restaurants and snowmobiling

This was our second year at this location. We really feel comfortable there. The only issue we had, which was not about the rental was that people would fill up the parking area while we were out. Sleds and cars of people going to the bar across the street. You have to expect some of that, but some folks are just inconsiderate. We still enjoyed ourselves and would do it again

Dirty

Very disappointing , cobwebs in every door entrance. Dishes put away dirty. Floor full of dog hair and friend showered and wouldnt drain, had to plunge for 15 minutes and black stuff came up! 4 of 7 lawnchairs broke. Feel 100/day credit should be honored. Need new housekeeping.

Easy stay

The house was simple and fit my family nice. My wife and four kids stayed there for just two nights as we toured around and went up to Tahquamenon Falls. The check-in process was a little bit clunky as I was never sent the code to the lock box on the door, so we ended up waiting outside for about an hour before we could get a hold of our host. And the house was comfortable. All the couch was nice to sit on as a family. The Lakeview is beautiful. We use the Robo in the morning which was memorable. The DVD player only plays in black and white and the TV kept turning off on us for no reason. There is also quite a few earwigs, that location is nice right in town across from a bar and there a couple restaurants easy to get into Curtis and around all of this region of the UP

We would stay again

We had a great time! Owner was very quick to respond to any issues. Even though there is no WIFI, we got 5G most of the time and used our hotspots if needed. Don't let the pictures deter you. There are many updates since the last photos. The water right out the back door was pretty nice for our puppy and teenagers. The water level is super low for a long way. Think a bit deeper then a kiddie pool. It would be amazing for littles! Kitchen was nicely stoked with pretty much anything you would need. We had dinner at Shipwreck one night. Very nice people and great food! I'd also recommend going to their community breakfast if you have a chance! Only one negative stood out, out of the 7 days we stayed. The hot water pressure was next to nothing, but the owner sent someone over to check it out right away. We made it work for the duration of our stay.

Nice basic accomodations on the lake, with a couple of issues

Place was fairly clean (aside from a few spiders, which I realize go with the territory), nice lake view, and convenient to town store, restaurants, laundramat. Gas grill actually had a working ignitor (a rarity in my VRBO experience). Biggest negatives for me were that one of the amenities identified was a row boat. There indeed was row boat, but it was one that you could not row (one of the oar locks was missing). While a trolling motor was provided, I was not experienced with the operation of the motor so did not enjoy that amenity which was one the amenities that really led me to the place in the first place. I brought my fishing gear and it ended up just being dead weight as the water nearby was so shallow fishing was not possible from the shore. The other issue was the noise on Friday night (to be accurate, the only night this was an issue). The bar next door was playing such loud music (until at least 1AM) that the property was shaking/reverberating, so not sure even earplugs would have helped stop the thumping of the bass.

Cute town. Lake is beautiful and cabin sits right on lake. Cabin is mediocre and sits on a busy road. All in all an okay stay.

Description was way off. Bedroom smelled like mildew. A lot of bugs inside. Bathroom sink ran slow. Screens taped up instead of being fixed. 4’ tall weeds between house and lake.

Great location in Curtis. Unfortunately the property is not as clean as one would hope. The fans were dirty and disturbing and the window blinds are either broken or breaking. Thankfully the view is terrific and the kitchen and bathroom were generally clean.

Love the place. We make it an annual trip. We stayed a week but the oven was not working properly. We planned on cooking meals with oven. Plus the gas grill did not work! Trash build up for a week was not good either. They never came and got the trash. I’ll still go back. We love it there

Beautiful lake view and very convenient location. The cabin has everything you need to feel like you are at home. Dennis is an amazing host and very accommodating. The South Lake has great fishing and the Shipwreck next door has fantastic food!

Always a great stay

My 3rd time back to this cabin. You can’t beat the price for this location. The lake is beautiful and I love the town of Curtis. The couch upgrade was nice to see. The cabin is always clean. The host is always great to communicate with. The mattresses could use an update and I wish there was WiFi so I could come stay here and work if need bed. I’m sure I will be back again!
