Bienvenue! Venez sĂ©journer dans notre charmante cabane situĂ©e sur deux hectares privĂ©s Ă  moins de 10 minutes du centre-ville d'Asheville et Ă  10 minutes de la pittoresque ville artistique de Weaverville. Le cadre rural prĂȘte Ă  un sĂ©jour calme et paisible pour les voyageurs aprĂšs une longue journĂ©e de visites de sites. Presque tout ce que vous voudriez faire est ici ou Ă  proximitĂ©. SituĂ© entre les Great Smokie Mountains et le Blue Ridge, notre cabine est une base idĂ©ale pour toutes vos aventures.

Notre chalet est situĂ© dans une communautĂ© de fermes Ă©questres. Vous pourrez observer les voisins dresser leurs chevaux dans les pĂąturages sous la cabane. Vous aurez Ă©galement de merveilleuses visites de cerfs et de dindes sauvages Ă  de nombreuses reprises. Profitez de votre boisson matinale de choix sur le porche couvert et profitez de la magnifique vue sur la montagne Ă  longue distance tout en dĂźnant sur le pont arriĂšre le mĂȘme jour. Ensuite, terminez votre journĂ©e assis autour du feu de camp situĂ© dans la cour avant tout en discutant de vos souvenirs de la journĂ©e.

Le climat tempĂ©rĂ© bĂ©nĂ©ficie de quatre saisons distinctes, avec des Ă©tĂ©s confortables, des hivers doux, des couleurs de dĂ©but de printemps et d'automne panoramiques. Les caractĂ©ristiques gĂ©ographiques, combinĂ©es au climat, permettent Ă  la rĂ©gion une abondance d'activitĂ©s de plein air, de la randonnĂ©e Ă  la pĂȘche en passant par le ski et le golf. Avec son centre-ville animĂ©, Asheville offre une diversitĂ© culturelle difficile Ă  trouver ailleurs aux États-Unis. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The cabin was clean, cozy, and inviting and stocked with everything you need. The location is great and close to town and we found some great restaurants close by. Would definitely recommend this cabin.

This cabin was adorable! If you are looking for a cozy country type of place close to town, then this is the place. Located less than 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. Our two teen daughters loved it. Very clean and located in quiet area.

My wife, dog and I had a great long weekend @ Abners Cabin - great place for some peace and quiet while only a short drive to Asheville. When not checking out Asheville we were firmly planted on the front porch, out by the firepit or hanging out in the very cozy living room. We're planning on staying again soon - Abners Cabin exceeded our expectations.

Abner's Cabin

The cabin was perfect for our Asheville experience with our two grandchildren. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the wildlife. Yet, it was a short trip to the Biltmore and downtown. The cabin was very comfortable. We hope to return.

Cabin was adequate. Had to kill a few very large spiders. Water completely turns off while showering. Directions need to be improved—street sign/name missing! Difficult to locate - had to bother a neighbor for directions. Enjoyed the peaceful quiet country location!

Wonderful Peaceful Quiet Cabin

Husband, small sheltie and I spent 3 nights in Abner's Cabin. Very rustic and we loved that ! A family of 3 deer joined us 1 afternoon. Stoney Knob Café was great for an anniversary dinner! The owners answered my questions quickly!

Great Views

This cozy log cabin is in a secluded area off a dirt road. It could use some updating, and there's an awkward step down into the only bathroom, but otherwise it has all the comforts of home. The greatest asset to this property are the spectacular views from the deck. Actually there are two decks: on the front and back sides. The back deck has amazing sunset views. But it was also nice to sit on front deck in the mornings even if it was foggy or misty and just enjoy the quiet and trees. Very quiet and secluded. Would definitely recommend.

Nice Location

we enjoyed our stay the cabin. FOr us it was the perfect location. Not too far, but just far enough to be away crowds and traffic. The views were great. We even had deer walk right up to the house. The cabin was also fully stocked.

Good location, average accommodations

We thought the cabin was a great location, serene countryside, but accessible to downtown Asheville and hiking. The back porch view was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out front in the rockers with our morning coffee. The only negatives were; the yard could have used some TLC as it was a little overgrown, both beds were soft and totally uncomfortable, the bathroom was small for four people and there were no extra towels, and the wi-fi was totally unreliable. That said, it was a great spot for a few days and we loved Asheville!

Great Mountain Getaway

This cabin is the perfect rustic getaway. The owner is VERY responsive to any questions/concerns!!! I don’t understand the reviews regarding the TV and internet...., you’re in the mountains HELLO?!! Prefect place to escape! The only negative is Uber doesn’t come out there, or they didn’t when we where there, but that may be a COVID thing.... great place to stay!

I found the property with no problem. Really enjoyed the privacy and the fact that the property is pet friendly. The kitchen was well stocked if you wish to cook. The front porch is a nice place to spend the evenings.

Great views but not worth the price

This charming and unpretentious property has stunning views of the Blue Ridge mountains, and convenience to popular venues. However, this rental was over priced due to the condition and style of the home (older / traditional mountain home) with foundation issues. Fireplace and grill did not work (or was disconnected) and would require the property owners husband to visit to reconnect. This was a girls vacation and we didn't want any men on the property. The bathroom was infested with spider-crickets (camel crickets), and both porches had carpenter bees and wasps that made sitting outside for long difficult. Other issues to consider: the internet was very weak, the DirecTV was OLD and picture quality poor, kitchen could be cleaner [old food in fridge, dried crumbs under counters and old dish sponges (no dishwasher)], and washer/drier can not be used without turning off the water heater via a junction box (water & electricity do not mix). Considering the challenges we had a great time in Asheville but I wouldn't stay at this property again. The owner said had she known about our discontent with the property we could have received our money back but we'd been on the road for 8 hours and unloaded before we realized the issues. Finding another place would have been a huge inconvenience. This property would be a great place for someone looking for a "Glamping" feel once the property has been addressed for safety and cleanliness.

It’s a Dream Come True !

Living in a log cabin was a rewarding experience. I only see this on cowboy movies and historical documentaries. Leslie, the owner of the property, provided us all the accommodations to make our stay very memorable. The location of the cabin is on the mountains that you will enjoy the fresh air and wonderful view of the wildlife. Me and my wife enjoyed our privacy and had the pleasure of just walking around the cabin taking selfies. I highly recommend the property for couples. It’s the best opportunity to be detached from the outside world and just focus on your spouse. Thanks Leslie!

Our week long stay

Over all we found the cabin to be satisfactory. It was roomy and clean. The one MAJOR problem is the internet which kept going in and out. It should be made clear in the listing that it is a slow, dial-up and unreliable. We had several business contacts to make and had to use our cell phones as hot spots. There could be more supplies in the kitchen. We cooked and there were no pot holders. Also the refrigerator runs most all of the time a problem that you may not be aware of. The door on the left side under the sink is broken and needs to be glued.

Short stay with my family

My husband, daughter, pups and I enjoyed this cozy home! It was a very peaceful stay but close to the city for some of the best food we have had in awhile! We even got to visit Pretty Place right over the SC border. My daughter was also obsessed with seeing a beautiful black horse every morning! We also enjoyed the size of the property for the dogs and the fire we got to have too! The house had everything we needed too!

First trip to Asheville

Cabin was ideal for us and our two dogs. Easy distance to downtown Asheville, but nice to come back to space and quiet. There is a nice walk for dogs along the river just north of Mill, where Elk Mountain Rd and Riverside Drive intersect We also enjoyed Eluvian Brewery in Weaverville, an easy drive.

love this place

My boyfriend and I and our two dogs stayed at the cabin and had a wonderful visit. The cabin has everything you need-toaster oven, regular oven, coffee maker, microwave, and laundry room. Everything works perfectly. We lit the gas fireplace every night and the place stays toasty warm. We saw deer in the front yard on two separate occasions which was so nice, and we watched the horses get exercised right down the hill. It's such a beautiful setting and super close to downtown and anywhere you need to get to around the area. Highly recommend!

This cabin is super cute, in a great location, and has everything you could ask for. If you plug the GPS info in, it's not hard to find. The first night we had to reach out to the owners about the gas fireplace and got an immediate response and step by step instructions on how to light the pilot light to restart the fireplace. It was clean and well kept and we have already booked it again for a trip in February with our dogs. Highly recommend this place!

First Visit to Asheville Area

Being in real estate sales, I get to see so many beautiful properties in the greater Asheville area so I am grateful to have an older cabin to offer folks to rent that is reminiscent of the cabins I stayed in during my youth across Western North Carolina.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The cabin was built by Abner Gwaltney in 1928 and has passed through several generations of families until my parents purchased the home as their summer getaway from the heat of the lowlands of NC. I purchased the cabin in 2004 when my parents decided they could no longer make the trip to Asheville. By that time, I had moved to Asheville and decided to keep the cabin available for family members to use. In 2008 I decided to open the cabin to the public because of its great location to downtown Asheville and it gave a choice to travelers that didn't want to stay in a regular ole hotel room.
