Cette belle maison mise à jour est nichée dans un quartier calme du quartier de Old Brooklyn, South Hills. Great place

We did a quick jaunt to Cleveland and thus home was a perfect place to stay. Will definitely book them again.

Family reunion

After picking up grandchildren from summer camps we got right on the road with intentions of washing clothes when we got to our VRBO. First thing we noticed was we couldn't get the washer to work. Second we found that the sink in the main bathroom drained slowly. A call was made to the property manager House Hotels. The lady who answered took down my complaints and phone number and said she would have to "circle back". Later that day, after no response, the decision was made to find a laundromat. The entire stay went by without a return call from House Hotels. Had they called we would have added to our list of complaints. The door from the upstairs sleeping quarters would not let people out. After letting two people out that were trapped we taped the latch. This was important to do because all the fire alarms on all three levels had been removed, leaving only the backing plates. Additionally, we made it clear in our booking that we had a party of eleven. There were only 4 forks and a half dozen spoons. The cleanliness in both bathrooms left a lot to be desired. We will not be going to any properties managed by House Hotels in the future. I presently have another VRBO planned for October and hope for better results.

Good layout and setup for our group of 12 with kids

Overall, our family would stay here again. Our group had kids between 8 to 19 and four adults, and this house worked out well for all of us. We were able to put adults on the main floor, girls upstairs, and boys in basement. There was even room in our adult bedroom to fit cots for our younger boys one night. There were things that could use updating like the main floor shower knobs, faucet, and shower head; however, they weren't deal breakers. The dishwasher smelled awful so we ran it when we got there and it seemed a bit better. The oven was odd but we eventually cooked our cinnamon rolls. We didnt use the washer or dryer. Communication could be quicker. I messaged the host through the VRBO app prior to our stay and heard back a few days later. During our stay, I messaged the host as an FYI about the front storm door not being on track/difficult and a spot on the provided cot, but didn't hear back as confirmation. After our stay, I messaged the host about the damage deposit refund and heard back after a few days. After booking, the confirmation email did not contain a number to contact the host, but I eventually found it on the listing. The host seemed friendly and helpful in their responses. The house is on a dead end street which was nice. We didn't use the backyard at all. We were able to get to the grocery store, Domino's, Ray's Mountain Bike Park, and Sweeties candy store easily during our trip. We would recommend this home. Thanks!

Nice and spacious

The area was great. The location was perfect for my event. Quite neighbors and neighborhood. Easy to get to places that I needed to go to. I will stay here again. I also would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Needs a bunch of upkeep

There were far too many things needing repair. I was quite disappointed with the response of the managing company. "The previous renters did not report this." We used ALL rooms and tried to use the kitchen. Stove took 2 hrs to get warm...something is wrong. Shower head was horrible. Tub was slippery with no grips amd no safety bar. Not enough lighting. Some didnt even have bulbs in them. Smoke detectos..yes but in the closet and none were "on." Front door closed past the frame, trapping us. Overall, the house is ADORABLE but needs a bit of work.

Unresponsive host and dirty house

Check in time was 3:00 PM, we arrived after 4:00 PM to find it had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. Every surface was sticky, all of the beds had been used. Owner did not respond to messages through VRBO, phone call, or text message. Finally gave up and booked a hotel for the first night after 5 PM. Started getting VRBO messages from owner after that about a schedule mixup and he would have someone clean it. Told him we had already booked a hotel for the night and expected one night credit back since it was not available on time and it would take hours to clean it properly. We got our cleaning deposit back since it was cleaner when we left than when we first got there but owner did not credit us back for the first night even though it wasn't going to ready until at least 8 PM. VRBO did not give us credit back either. Between the two, would have expected some reimbursement for the poor conditions. We sent pictures to VRBO and they could not reach the owner either.

The house was close to a playground for the kids and close to freeways to get around town quickly. It seemed one of the outlets in the kitchen did not work .

Awesome neighborhood and location!

We were in town for a family reunion, and I wanted a house with at least 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. I stayed at this house with my partner, my parents, and my brother and his wife, and we had PLENTY of room! It was actually the perfect layout for us because my brother and sis-in-law stayed upstairs in the "attic". My partner and I stayed in the bedroom that had a separate entrance to the backyard, and my parents stayed in the room across from us, very close to the bathroom (which they loved). No one stayed in the basement because it felt a bit drafty and smelled musty to us, but the other rooms were very comfortable, including the beds. The door to the attic did get stuck a couple of times, so we had to keep that door slightly open so that my brother and his wife could get out easily. The living room was so cozy, and we enjoyed a couple nights watching TV on the comfy couch. We also used the kitchen quite a bit and it had everything we needed, especially a big coffee maker! Not a lot of places to hang clothes since the closets seemed full, so we improvised a bit. But other than that, we would stay there again!

Nice stay but there was a serious spider web on fan in room. I dropped my ring and found a dust bunny village under bed. Shower head might need replacing but great hot water and pressure. Overall clean and beautiful neighborhood

Great location near downtown

We enjoyed our stay in Old Brooklyn/Brooklyn Heights. The house was in a great location for exploring downtown Cleveland. The quiet neighborhood was a few steps away from a city park. We were minutes away from several highways. The house was clean and welcoming.

All in all, a good home base for exploring Cleveland

There's a lot going for this house. It sure sleeps a lot of people. We were two families, nine all together. I think it's important to distinguish that although it sleeps nine, even ten, and comfortably--space-wise, though the beds weren't super comfortable--it isn't set up to accomodate 9 people. I had asked about enough outdoor seating for nine and offered to bring our own chairs, and they were quick and great getting back to us that we would need to bring the chairs. But, that said, there should have been nine forks in the house, for example. We've stayed in many VRBOs. This one was clean and central, but lacked the warmth. Maybe warmth isn't what you need...I get that. It's just not the kind of situation where you want to leave your extra bottles of water and wine for the next family. Even a couple games on a shelf or a folder of Cleveland attractions, restaurants in the area, etc.

Great location Horrible Beds

Firstly, we had a great time overall. It was the best location for all the things we wanted to do only 12-15 min from everything. Lot of amenities and tons of room for everyone. The only problem was the beds. Everyone of the 5 beds were very uncomfortable and not in an “I prefer a bit softer plush mattress”; but in a ‘ this must be what Al Queda used to get intelligence out of people’ They have new frames but old mattresses which require a box spring. My advice would be g to o either exchange mattresses or add box springs. Otherwise, we had a lovely time.

Nice family home in quiet neighborhood

Just what we needed. Had a room for each in our family. Cozy and quaint. Nice family room with a comfy couch and fireplace. If you like firm mattresses, this is the place for you! I prefer slightly softer. Enjoyed our time here!

buisness trip / getaway

The house is alot more spacious then it looks on the outside it's pretty shocking actually . It would be a perfect home to rent for a group of friends , sleeps 5 and has a bar area with a bathroom and bedroom in the finished basement area .(yet beds I will say were hard as rocks )we had to sleep on the couch . (My main complaint) My boyfriend and I who do IT buinsess were here for buisness , and made at three day getway out of it . On the other hand besides the bed everything else was great The home was also decorated and furnished,beautifully and creatively I must add it was dedintely remodeled and had a modern yet rustic comfort vibe to it .

The property did what we needed. We are a family of 5 ages from 20-99. The guys wanted to fish Lake Erie the girls wanted to shop & we all wanted to go to the Indians game. It was convenient for all.

Old Cleveland Style

I chose this property because of its location—just blocks away from my grandmother’s old house. We brought my 83 year old mother on this trip—likely her last to Cleveland. We visited her old friends, as well as family who are still in the area. This house was perfect for us. We brought my teenage son as well. This house reminds me of my grandmother’s place—classic Cleveland stlyle. It was built in 1941 and it has been updated. We enjoyed morning coffee on the front patio. The house was as described. True to when it was built, the main bathroom was small, but functional. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, an attic bedroom with two double beds, and a fifth double bed downstairs. The second bathroom, in the basement, was very small, especially the shower, but we made it work. Overall we loved the experience and I would rent it again in a heartbeat. My only criticism is with the beds—there is a sort of combo box spring/mattress on each bed, but it feels more like just a box spring. I think even a 4 inch mattress (regular or foam) would go a long way. It was not enough of an issue to lower my rating, but it would be a welcome improvement. Otherwise the house was clean and comfortable

My brothers, niece, and myself enjoyed our stay together. Neighborhood was well kept and location worked well for us. Enjoyed breakfast at Gus's not far from the house!

Delightful

This duplex was just top notch. We weren't sure as we ascended the stairs leading up to the entrance door, but as soon as we peered inside it was evident that this was going to be a very nice stay. Everything in the duplex is great quality ( which many times you don't find in rentals!). The beds are super comfortable, kitchen beautiful , with everything you need ( except for possibly a large cooking pot). Check-in was easy, communication great, questions answered promptly. Very clean throughout. We plan to stay here again!!

Spacious home

We switched properties at the last minute per the managers request. I’m thankful for a safe place to sleep at night for my family. But it was by no means a clean home. Dust on all the surfaces and had not been swept. Would have been okay if they had only taken the time to scrub the finger prints off the door edges, sweep or dust.
