Absolutely best view in town, gorgeous property backs right up to the park basically, couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy coffee or wind down after a day of fun. Had a few small issues, but overall would stay here again
Nothing!! House is on a shallow well, water is dirty and well quit working after 1 day. Was not able to use the bathroom, brush teeth, shower. All the basic needs to live were not provided. Grill had no propane and received a bottle the day we were leaving. If you want to wreck your vacation and spend a lot of money for nothing go ahead but Iâm warning you itâs a dump!
While this cabin is a bit dated, it was very comfortable and a fabulous location--we were so close to one of the park entrances. The views were gorgeous, and the deck was a great place to relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We left to travel to Colorado Springs for a couple of days at the end of our trip, but my whole family wished we had just planned to stay here for the duration. The dishes, especially silverware and pans, were not cleaned well, and we did not feel the cleaning was as thorough as we would have liked, but nothing horrible. One thing to note is that the pull-out sofa in the small room by the downstairs bedroom is unusable unless you move out the other furniture in that space as there is not enough room for it to open. This was disappointing. Also, there is no washer/dryer in this cabin, and it uses a well, so showers had to be spaced out. We had excellent service and communication with the property manager and the check-in and check-out was very easy and convenient. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved this vacation home, had everything we needed, it was very comfortable. It was amazing sitting on the porch surrounded by peaceful nature everywhere
The views were fantastic. The owner was very nice. But the trash cart had not been picked up from the last guest. Dishwasher needs to be repaired. Very nice cabin.
We have stayed in several locations in and around Estes Park and this is one of our favorites. While away from town, it is convenient to the Beaver Meadows park entrance while not being too far from town. It is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay with wonderful views.
If you like to hike, walk Upper High Pines (just below Nobel) to the west to pick up the South Deer Moutain trail into RMNP. This connects with the other paths that go up to the peak of Deer Mountain (for a great view).
We gave it 4 stars for accuracy - originally washer/dryer were listed, but we believe the listing should be updated now to indicate that a washer/dryer are not present.
This property is in a perfect location for visits to RMNP. The house was stocked well and the views are one in a million. I think the the basement could really use a dehumidifier to help with the musty odor and a heads up to guests the neighbor is no nice if their is anything that you do that she doesn't like she threatens to call the police. like talking to loud while you walk by her house. I would definitely recommend this house to a friend
The house itself was amazing the views are breathtaking!!! Itâs everything that the listing says it is. In regards to the Vacasa trying to get a hold of someone is impossible. When I originally booked this home I was told it was pet friendly two weeks before we plan to leave I received an email saying no pets allowed and then two days before we were to leave it was talking about keeping pets on leashes at all times the information was very not clear tried to call to clarify no one would call me back so at the last minute I had to book a kennel for my two pups and pay out-of-pocket for that. The confirmation from my booking even showed two pets when I spoke to someone at Vacasa when she took my payment for the very first time she also confirmed two adults two children 2 pets. I think the communication could be so much better.
Property and cabin were both really nice. I only used the main bedroom and the mattress was comfy. Everything as the pictures and description show. I really enjoyed the cabin, did a lot of hiking in RMNP, then cooking and soaking up the view on the porch. A 4 wheel drive is recomended, unless you want to get get a good running start to get up the last part of the drive, which at that point you might scrape some paint off the front bumper of you car. Also I do not recommend a dually (truck with 4 rear tires). The roads up to the cabin are gravel and narrow (1 car) with some good boulders and ditches.I had a extended cab long bed silverado, and it was tight. Luckly everyone was nice and pulled aside when I was coming around which involves pulling into other driveways. Not to discourage anyone, as there is only a handfull of houses there, but if your one who likes to run in and out a bunch of times be prepared if you got a big vehicle.
The only weak point of the cabin was the shower knobs. They are a older design and the only knobs they make to fit are plastic which strip out when you crank on them. So bring a screwdriver and a pare of pliers in case the last people stripped them, its easy to figure out.The owner did come by and replaced the one with something new which I think will be better but hard to say.
All and all, I give it 4.5 out of 5 just because of the shower, and I would have liked to be informed if anyone but me was going to enter the cabin while i was away
It is true there was an amazing view. That is all that was great about the stay. When I arrived one of the knobs to the shower was completely disassembled with a wrench right next to it. The shower was completely non-functional. I contacted the property manager who sent someone to fix it. They denied knowing the shower was a problem which seems unlikely with the wrench sitting out. Someone came and installed the knob (which was the hot water) but the cold water knob to the shower didn't work. So again not functional unless you want to burn yourself taking a shower. Needless to say, I left early to stay at another place so I could take a shower. When contacting the manager I was not fairly refunded considering the place was in no shape to rent. She indicated she could not get me more money back because it was not "fair to the property owner to pay for thier (property management company) mistake. Its certainly not fair for me to pay for their mistake!
Other notes: Clearly there were pet urine stains on the carpet and a horrible smell in the main bedroom presumably from pet pee. I did find animal hair even though the place is listed as "no pets". The smell was so bad I had to stay in the bedroom upstairs. The mattresses are probably 15 years old and very uncomfortable.
If you choose to stay here; stay for the view and pitch a tent on the porch.
High Pines is located about as high as you can go in the High Drive area of Estes Park. Slightly rustic cabin but very comfortable. Great views of Longs Peak and the mountain range. Woke up each morning to sunrise on Longs Peak. Five minutes from Beaver Meadows entrance to Rocky Mt National Park. Ten minutes to town center yet very secluded. My Subaru was able to handle the steepish driveway with no problems.
The best thing about High Pines Cabin is the stunning views. Truly amazing. But, one pays for that view with a very steep drive; Iâd recommend bringing a 4x4 if you have one. Our Honda van struggled to make it up. The owners are awesome and very responsive (stove went out; they brought up a brand new one within two hours). House is cozy and secluded, just what we wanted. Lots of acreage to explore.
This property has an amazing view! I wish we could have stayed longer. The only reason I gave a 3/5 for cleanliness was because when we arrived, the downstairs bedroom smelled like dog urine. But after I opened the windows and let it vent, the smell went away. The cabin could use some updating but overall it was a great secluded place to stay for our family.
This cabin was beautifully situated in the Rocky Mountains, with great views, the right amount of seclusion, and quick and easy access to RMNP or Estes Park. Highly recommended!
