We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin between Coeur d'Alene and Harrison with the large deck partially overlooking the lake where we viewed waterfowl, bald eagles and deer that visited the property daily. The deck overlooks the neighbor's beautiful garden; their house is close to the property, which reduces privacy a bit. Other neighbors have farm animals, so renters should be aware of roosters crowing at dawn/dusk (which we loved). The highway is just one street over so noise is pretty constant. The house was comfortable with good towels, well stocked kitchen (except scratched pots/pans), and very clean (except dirty deck windows) but could have used patio shading, blinds in living room for p.m. sun, and more lights, and some niceties like a laundry basket and suitcase racks. Due to a heat wave, the house was hot, so we appreciated the AC and fans. We recommend the banister to the master bedroom be extended to the top of the steep stairs and sliding doors updated with outside entry/locks. Renters should be aware that the third bedroom/bath are in a totally different wing of the house on the other side of the garage as was the laundry center, which was very appreciated as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. The property was just down the road from Lattitudes food truck plus Harrison and their excellent creamery. The caretaker called us at check in to make sure we were settling in. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend the Carlin Bay Retreat to all.
Outstanding View on Beautiful BayVery nice home with outstanding lake view. Exceptionally clean and well stocked. Great place for our group of five friends to gather for several days. Comfortable outdoor furniture, spacious kitchen. Note that the bedrooms are on three different levels, with one downstairs and through the garage. Also the afternoon sun in July-August is intense and heats up the living area, but the fans kept it comfortable. We enjoyed ourselves and will likely be back!
It was ok. The neighbor is way too close, the driveway is small. The house is under construction. There was large amounts of mouse crap all over our motorcycles and atv that were left on the trailer in driveway and all over the deck and end tables. A faulty flapper in the toilet tank caused a lot of water damage which resulted in us not being able to use the power and having someone come over for 3 days to check on the damage. I planned this vacation to honor my son who passed in 2020, we made the best of it, but it was a little disappointing. There was definitely no turn around for a trailer like the website says. The owner also stated that it was possible that someone put too much toilet paper in the toilet, if that were to be true, the toilet would only flood until tank ran out of water. On a positive note the view is great!
Absolutely beautiful views. It was so quiet and very clean. I had a question about the wi-fi and texted the manager. They responded immediately and were very helpful.
Thank you for a great home to spend a few day in.
Comfortable and not fussy in any way. 3 of us taking retreat from the fires in neighboring states had a relaxing short stay. Although the house is not on the lake there is a lake view w only a few power lines to be seen out the large windows. The close neighbors have a beautiful garden. House is well stocked with kitchen basics. We enjoyed our stay.
Location has a very unique bedroom configuration, plenty of beds but on many levels of the house and garage.
Large windows for terrific views, but they make the temperature controls difficult. Still had a great time!!
Long week-end of bar-b-cue, boating, and ice cream at Harrison. Appreciated internet for checking emails with a number of us on-line at a time. We spent mornings and evenings on the balcony deck enjoying the weather, the view, and each other.
The little beach and swimming area were a great place for everyone in our group and the house and deck gave us plenty of room to spread out. Communications with the owner and property manager were excellent.
Fantastic place right next to the lake with a gorgeous view and only a quarter mile from the beach. Plenty of space in the cabin and has all necessary equipment there.
Lovely cabin in the woods with an incredible view of the lake. We had a family getaway and enjoyed the location very much. Our only suggestions would be that a few oversized baby gates be provided, as there are a lot of stairs and it was a challenge keeping our 2 year old granddaughter safe.
We had a wonderful time staying at Garyâs property. The home is spacious and well supplied. The view from the back deck is amazing!! We were grateful for the a/c on the main floor and loft, as the August sun beats in STRONG in the afternoon. Glad to see he updated the listing regarding the WiFi/internet and TV streaming; neither is provided by host. The deck and outdoor stairs definitely need some maintenance. Hopefully that will be seen to soon.
Overall we had a great time in the Coeur dâAlene/Harrison area and we will definitely be back!
The location was perfect - quiet, out of the way and close to a marina. But the house needs some love. The inside was very nice, but There is no grassy area as shown - if there was, it is now over grown with tall weeds. We were going to bring our boat but decided not to and that was a good thing as there is no way we could have turned it around. The outside was very tired and the deck was super sketchy. Pictures online seem to be after a remodel some time ago.
We had a wonderful stay here! The cabin was spacious, well stocked and comfortable. It was located in a prime area with access to the public dock and nice trails.
We had our annual family get together at Carlin Bay last weekend, the home was perfect. Large kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment, plenty of places to sleep and just hang out and visit. Our son brought his fishing boat and we used the ramp just down the hill, couldn't be more convenient, you could walk to it from the house if needed. The Latitudes food trailer at the ramp and park has a great menu too. The outdoor fire and large deck are great to watch sunsets from, and the grill was big enough to make a meal for everyone. Had no trouble getting information from the owner and check in was quick over the phone. Great location, great stay.
We had a wonderful time away from the hustle and bustle for a few days. The property was in a very peaceful and beautiful spot! Communication with the manager was excellent and we had everything needed to enjoy our stay.
Our vacation was more than we could have expected
from our cabin host always just a text away!
We had a blast at Silverwood Theme Park,
Also, easy access boating tubing/fishing and side by side and many great places to enjoy a meal out.
We are already planning next years vacation
The house accommodated our extended family needs very well. The loft bedroom was a fun feature. Hope the owner has addressed an issue with the deck stairs which were in need of repair. Overall a great stay.
It was a great place to relax, cook meals and convenient location to the bike trails that we wanted to ride. The lake is beautiful! We would definitely go back.
This will be our 6th year of hosting guests at our Carlin Bay Retreat through Vrbo. We love hearing of the memories made during family get-togethers and get-aways with friends. It's an honor to be able to share this special place with others!
The quiet surroundings and the view of Lake Coeur d'Alene drew us to this place initially, and the multitude of outdoor activities available in the area have made it an invigorating place to be.
Our Carlin Bay Retreat is exactly that... a retreat. If you really want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this is the place to do it.
