We stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to explore the beautiful California Coast on CA Hwy 1. For sure this is a beautifully decorated private country feel cottage in Carmel Valley! The property was just as described and we have a very comfortable stay! The views are beautiful as there is floor to ceiling glass on two out of the four walls. The location of the property is great with access to Carmel by the sea and Big Sur! Only six minutes to Thai and Mexican restaurants. The room was very clean with all listed amenities, bed was very comfortable, nice outdoor patio. Charlie the owner and his son Taylor were very hospitable. I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Carmel Valkey, CA.
We loved the location, the view, the property, the privacy, ease of check in, Charlie, deer, and the cat. The place is attached to Charlie's home but we never heard him, separate entrance, its definitely a DIY place, he's made it his own, so very rustic but clean. Not alot of amenities, bring towels, toiletries. There is no foundation, so not sure how it is when it rains. There is an adorable personable cat that is now living there, talks alot and will happily join you if you let her. She doesn't belong to Charlie, lives outside, I feel someone just dumped her as shes very domesticated. I am a cat person so if we would of stayed I would of tried to find a home for this beautiful cat. My husband is allergic otherwise I would have taken her with us. Enjoy!
This unique place has amazing views and is a 5 minute drive to several wine tasting rooms in Carmel Valley. The kitchenette has minimal cooking utensils, so if youâre planning on cooking keep it simple.
We (my husband, myself and our dog) stayed at this place for 4th of July. The unit is on top of the hill, few minutes drive from the village center. Views from the unit are absolutely amazing, right from the windows or once you walk out.
The unit is rustic but very clean. Small kitchenette is equipped sufficiently to make simple meal and coffee. The host is very friendly and responsive. Nice touch was a drinking bowl for our dog. We really enjoyed our stay.
Lots and lots of nature, quiet, and spacious living. Brought my two Whippets along. We live in a city environment and this experience provided the network of trees we longed for.
Spent a weekend here with my partner and furbaby and it was perfect! We loved seeing the stars at night and having our coffee outside with the beautiful mountain views. It was a nice birthday retreat away from the busy city life.
We used this location as our Rest spot for exploring Carmel. It was a very unique and creative design. It was also great for our two dogs. They had a private area to run around in with a very calming view.
This is a lovely little back house in Carmel. The views from the home are amazing. Itâs a very bespoken property and Charlie is great too. You are only 5 minutes from Carmel village which is an iconic place with lots of little wineries and restaurants. The home is very private. You have your own door to the back area with a big yard. We stayed in the rain and it was really nice even with everything being super wet. Would highly reccomend staying here.
This was the perfect retreat for us! The room feels like it's own isolated cabin in the mountains. It's completely cozy, warm, no frills, just total comfort. The bed and bedding were so soft; tons of hot water in the shower. The views are amazing. It's a humble space with lots of rustic charm and everything you could need. I really liked the mid-century vibe combined with the mountain feel. Will absolutely be back!!!
Absolutely loved this place. Very private and great rustic decor inside and out. Late nights and early mornings are great to sit outside and watch the stars / morning sunrise. Great for our small dog as well. 10/10!
I was heading down to Carmel Valley for a wedding with my girlfriend and we got super lucky finding this spot.
Not only was it an amazing location overlooking a valley but the room itself was incredibly unique and comfortable. We would wake up and have breakfast in the enclosed porch overlooking the valley every morning.
Overall the host was very nice and accommodating.
I will stay there again 100%.
Charlies cabin was one of the quietest places I have ever stayed at. Charlie was nice and greeted us when we came and, then we never saw or heard him the whole time. Its about 5mins to the little town of Carmel Valley with restaurants and wine tasting. The cabinis safe and has everything you need to get away for some peace and quiet. The view was so spectacular, we just wanted to get food and go back to the cabin. There are also plenty parks close by to hike at. I can't wait to stay to stay there again.
We enjoyed the beautiful views of Carmel Valley and the peaceful mornings. The property is close enough to the city (10-minute drive) but you feel secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. Charlie was great during the check-in process and the place was clean and had all the necessary amenities. If planning on cooking there is a kitchen with limited materials so keep it simple! Thank you for the experience Charlie!
Thank you for hosting me and my girls ( 4 legged babies!). My blue heeler and chi puppy had a blast. Perfect rental for all fur mommy/daddy out there as it is super safe for them to run around with more than ample space for them to run around. The location is close to everything. The cabin interior and exterior itself is clean , well ventilated but still has the rustic and homey vibe to it. Perfect for R and R with amenities that will make you feel as comfortable as possible, The owner paid good attention to details by providing a grill and outside chairs with a small workable kitchen for guests who like to cook. One thing I prefer though ,a bigger night stand would be great addition. :) Charlie is an excellent host đ. I won't hesitate to come back and contact him again for future stays in Carmel Valley! We will definitely come back. Kudos to his rustic cabin boarding!
No effort was made to make this a comfortable place to stay. Run down, dingy, like camping with a roof. With a little care this place could have potential. No hooks to hang your coat on, no kitchen towel, used bar soap in shower, poor lighting, threadbare towels. Glad to get away. The one advantage to staying here is how much we appreciate our new VRBO
