House was clean. We had originally planned to bring our dogs, but opted out at the last minute, kinda expected a "dog" smell, but was very clean. Easy to get to property. Hosts directions were spot on. Would definitely rent again.
Cabin looked good from the outside, inside cobwebs, spiders, stove was nasty also inside the oven. Spatulas was gross need replaced. Pots and pans scratched and had chips on them. Pulled sheet down on the king size bed there sat a rock in the bed which my husband laid on for days. Shower and bathtub is so slippery that they should have had bathmats in them all. A/c Only cooled downstairs not upstairs. Also missing screens upstairs, we could only open one window, so it was very hot. We also had to listen to the construction work being done our whole stay right across from the cabin., from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Which was bad enough however the traffic through the neighborhood is like a freeway nonstop all day and night. also where we stayed there was no sight of mountain views where we stayed. Very disappointed in all. Will not be staying there ever again!
Loved the cabin itself, the location, quietness, size, atmosphere & pet friendly.Unfortunately there were some issues. Cleanliness was the biggest problem. Nasty & disgusting. The bedroom carpet OMG, the kitchen cabinets had food stuck on them, the dust/cobwebs and the mold on the walls.Broken lamps and/or lamps that didnt work at all.Brown rings on the dresser from lampsUsed bandaid laying on dresserNo mountain view as states in adWe did stay as what choice did we have ? We never would have found another pet friendly cabin last minute. We made the best of it and I cleaned what I could.I hope whomever rents this cabin next has better luck
Place was ok for the money and the time we went during Labor Day weekend! The cabin needs updates and needs a deep cleaning! The carpets are very dirty and there was tons of spider webs on ceiling area and the fan in bathrooms were very dusty and looked like they have never been cleaned! The cabin was in a great neighborhood, that was covered with cabins and tons of out of towners, but everyone was nice, check in was easy, rental was easy and reasonable, and the outside the yard and landscaping was clean and well groomed. The front porch was very clean and relaxing. There had definitely been a bear out back of this cabin there was bear poop and he/she had ate a turtle shell still there. We had a good experience just wished it had been cleaner and more updated.
We were wowed by this cabin in so many ways especially the location, peacefulness and log cabin atmosphere. We were impressed with the large parking space but our favorite would have to be the front porch !
However there were issues.
Biggest one, cleanliness. The carpet in the main floor bedroom was absolutely disgusting. The dressers had dirt rings on them from the bottom of the lamps and a used bandaid was stuck to one of the lamp bases. The kitchen cabinets had food stuck on the doors, as well as did the side of the refrigerator.
Cobwebs/dust everywhere including floors, walls, windows and the wall rack which held kitchen items like hot pads & a cutting board. I dont think any furniture had been cleaned behind in an extremely long time. Your housekeeper has a lot to be desired.
A few of the lamps were unoperable and would fall apart if moved. TV's didnt work when we first arrived. I spoke with Walt and he was suppose to arranged for someone to come service them. Im not sure if they showed..no notification of arrival time or that the service was completed. When we arrive back at the cabin in the evening the TV was on. Not sure if it popped on itself or what happened ?
Thank you for letting us try the cabin.
If/when we do return we will probably look to stay elsewhere unless those items mentioned were remedied.
We enjoyed the location and overall it was good. However there were a lot of bugs on the inside that we were constantly killing or removing, and many spider webs on the inside of the cabin, and property definitely could've used a better dusting on the inside of it.
Overall it was a pretty good cabin, just wished it had been a little cleaner on the inside and unfortunately the prior people who had stayed didnt clean up after their dogs so you had to watch your step around the property. Our biggest complaint overall would definitely be there were lots of bugs on the inside of the cabin that we were constantly killing and or trying to get outside and lots of spider webs on the inside.
Property is in prime location close enough to EVERYTHING but yet still far enough away you still felt like you were in your own little world. Perfect size for me, my husband and our 3 kids. Plus they allow pets with an additional fee!! We had a great time and have already said we would definitely stay here again.
Very cute cabin! Our family enjoyed our stay. It was a convenient location and in a quiet area which was nice. I do feel like the bathrooms could have used a little more attention as far as cleaning, especially the shower curtain and the bathroom floors. Overall it was a nice place to stay. I would recommend this place to family and friends.
Overall it wanee
Loved the cabin and the location. It was not far from anything and easy to get to. Access into the cabin and around the first floor was all good. The first floor bathroom however had some access issues. If you use a wheelchair you could not get to the toilet and the sink is very hard to use also. The shower did not have a hand held shower head either which is very useful to those that use a wheelchair. We had to move the furniture around to gain access to the bed in the downstairs bedroom for the wheelchair user. Yes the cabin is accessible for wheelchair users it just is not totally accessible in all areas. Loved sitting on the front porch. It was wide and plenty of room.
Dust, dead bugs, and mold throughout the house. Mold was on the floorboards in the living room, blinds in the kitchen, and downstairs bath where someone obviously tried to paint over water damage to the wall. The logs of the cabin are rough hewn, which gives a more rustic feel, but also makes it very difficult to clean. But it was clear there had been no effort to clean, as there was thick dust on light fixtures, blinds, and windowsills as well as the cobwebs all over the ceiling and walls. One light fixture had a thick layer of dead bugs piled up at the bottom. My daughter found a dead stinkbug in her bed.
There is also the issue of wiring in the upstairs bedroom. There is a powerstrip ziptied to the wall, an extension cord across the room, and the ceiling fan has been wired to a cord that plugs into one of the outlets next to the powerstrip.
I did not feel safe staying there with my family. VRBO was no help in resolving the situation, and we ended up paying to stay in a motel for the rest of our trip.
Very little carpet, which is great when traveling with dogs. Happened to stay on a pleasant temperature weekend and would have loved to leave windows open to air the place out a bit (smelled a little musty) - but there are no screens on any of the windows. There is a reason no backyard is shown - because there isn't one. However, front yard was plenty big for our pups. Not the most updated cabin, but it worked for us.
