My family and I really enjoyed our time at the cozy cabin. It was clean and comfortable. The owners were incredibly nice and accommodating. It was very quiet and relaxing and the sunsets were beautiful. I would recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone looking to unplug and recuperate.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. Because the previous people had checked out early, we were able to check in early. The cabin is older, but extremely clean and air tight. We had no issues with bugs inside the cabin. The 2 bedrooms are small, but was fine for us because we didnât spend much time in them. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was cozy. There was an oscillating fan in both bedrooms. There were some board games, decks of cards, dvds, and books available. The kitchen had everything we needed. The rental included 2 child kayaks, one adult kayak, a canoe, and several life jackets. There was also a small car port if you wanted your car covered. Outside there is a deck off one of the bedrooms. I do wish it was screened it, but with some bug spray we were ok. The area is very quiet and peaceful with lots of wildlife. There is an abandoned house on the property. The fishing off the dock was fantastic! We caught a lot of fish. It is very shallow by the dock, so you would not be able to dock a big boat. There is a nice place to put the canoe in though. The sunsets are to die for! One drawback is there is only one grocery store about 10 minutes away and it was expensive. But the town has a great ice cream parlor and turtle races every Wednesday. Overall, we loved the property and the area. Bill and Vicky were great hosts and we would go back.
When we first walked into this property we were hit with a smell of what I think was propane. We actually considered leaving. We turned the air on and it seemed to improve although the smell did linger the entire stay. We did enjoy the amazing views of the lake especially the sunsets. The grounds are very private. There is a an old house on the property that I wish would have been mentioned before we arrived as it took us by surprise. If it werent for the concerning smell this would have been an amazing stay for the price of the booking. Finally, we were blamed for a crack in the back deck which I found very disappointing as we took care in treating the entire property with respect. A lot of the wood on the property is rotted. Because of the smell and the fear of being blamed for damages I would not consider or reccomend a stay here, sadly.
We loved the cozy cabin with the amazing lake view! The sunsets were fantastic and so was the fishing! The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed! We will be back!
they take pride in making sure the cabin is clean are ready for you, we had a great time just sitting on the deck or by the fire, just what we needed after a busy summer,
The cabin is exactly what we needed! The peace and quiet, scenery, fishing, campfires, and visits from wildlife. The cabin is cozy! We canât wait to plan our next visit!
I love this lake for fishing so this no frills cabin work perfect. It was very peaceful and a no risk boat docking. The only thing I would have likes would have been tv service but it was good to unplug.
Will come back
This cabin was the perfect cabin to spend time with family. Sitting on the back deck, overlooking the lake, was so peaceful. The setting was very private and extremely quiet, which is rare these days. I recommend this wonderful little gem..
Well supplied cabin with a beautiful lawn on the lake. We enjoyed finishing off the dock, using the canoe and kayak and watching the loons, chipmunks and mother and baby wood chuck. Cabin was clean and comfortable for our family. We brought kitchen items but didn't need to take any items out because everything was supplied. Bill and Vicky were incredibly easy to work with with reservation changes and when I got the check out time incorrect.
Very clean, quiet and secluded. Would have been nice to have outdoor water and power. Would like to have enjoyed the cool evening temps indoors with screens on the sliding glass doors or screened in porch. Little hard to navigate and back a boat trailer in the driveway. Just the right size for 2 people.
THE GOOD -
1) Had an incredible evening with the loons and sunset one night. That was the highlight.
2) Privacy excellent b/c the home next door is abandoned and likely rebuild plans for cabin owners' retirement.
3) Bugs surprisingly not bad at all outside.
4) Kitchen stocked with everything we needed.
5) comfy bed, can see/hear lake from there.
6) Good bass fishing - bring your boat/kayak like we did.
7) larger floor space than we are used to
The BAD
1) Wicked Witch of the West called, wants her broom back.
2) Zero firewood. Should have unlimited birch like other places.
3) Cobwebs in windows, bugs inside bedroom screen door
4) Screen door needs to be replaced yesterday.
5) expected to vacuum -
6) Not as "homey", feels more like run of mill rental
7) Pet Fee greed. Canoe use should be included.
8) No internet/wifi. Bring laptop to watch movies in bed
9) Living room couch old, not a hangout/lounge area to watch TV on rainy days.
Overall had a good time. Spot great for lake/loons/bass fishing/privacy.
Enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin getaway! Very clean and had everything we needed. Fish were biting off the dock and we enjoyed watching the loons and nearby wildlife.
Was also nice riding my paddleboard each day!
My wife and I very much enjoyed visiting this area. It was very quiet, on a dead end road with little traffic, a really relaxing stay.
It is obvious that Bill and Vicky take pride in their cabin, it is well kept and comfortable.
This was exactly what the doctor ordered!! Very clean, very quiet, very relaxing! From check in to check out, we felt like we were in paradise! Absolutely beautiful sunsets!! We had a nice fire the last day of our stay!
