Great Location, Great Space, Great Hosts, Great Lake
The house offered lots of space for our family of 4, and was super comfortable. Great air conditioning set up to keep you cool for hot nights, great yard for yard games, and a firepit by the edge of the lake to enjoy the stars by. Super clean house with all the modern conveniences while still having some lake cabin charm.
Very nice place for my familyâs hunting trip. Had everything we needed. Was great to meet the people we rented from. Host was very helpful when we called asking about adding an app for the TV.
There is a broken dinning room chair, would highly recommend this to friends and family.
Jeff & Fran were so nice! Fran even made us the best homemade chocolate chip cookies! The property was so private and spacious. The cabin was very clean and the beds were super comfortable! Private dock was a lovely added bonus, we rented a pontoon from wheeler marina great company!
Relaxing and private getaway on a beautiful northern MN lake
We loved how private and spacious Jeff and Franâs property is, itâs a historic gem, we enjoyed learning about the history of the property. The cabin was beautiful and had all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay. Our 4 & 6 year old boys loved the bunk beds, building bonfires and jumping off the dock. Highly recommend Jeff and Fran as gracious and kind hosts!
Jeff was very accommodating and a spectacular host. They have a family history there since the 1900s. Wonderful place to get away from the cities. Large yard to play around and a few yards to the private dock. Will definitely consider to come back. Close to public boat launch also.
This is a true gem. The interior of the property was immaculate. Fully equipped kitchen ( minus food of course), bathroom, bedrooms and basement laundry facility. The property is beautiful, setting along the north shore of Woman Lake. Birds, squirrels, deer and even an eagles nest right in the property. We visited in early October and were greeted by gorgeous fall color. All I can say is⊠perfect.
I would give this property a 10 out of 5 it was so clean! Our family has been renting cabins from various locations for almost a decade and this one was by far was the best. The location was secluded and spacious. (The history of the property also put a fun spin on the whole experience!) The cabin was clean and so well kept. It had a cabin vibe with all the perks of home (AC, dishwasher, washer/dryer). Jeff and Fran were so welcoming and responsive. We stayed 9 days and no one in our family of 5 wanted to leave. We spent a ton of time on the dock and fishing. A true Minnesotan summer vacation. I cannot say enough good things about this rental. Truly a gem! Thank you Jeff and Fran for a wonderful experience!
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
Misleading and Inaccurate Description
Upon arrival at the property, we were initially happy and impressed with the land and the space surrounding the house. However, we soon realized that this was not as described by the listing and the owners...While the listing describes the rental as being "your own private resort" and "acres of privacy with over 1500 feet of shoreline," this turned out to be absolutely false. The owners live on the property in an adjacent house, and apparently let people onto the property whenever they feel like it. We were very surprised to see a large group of rowdy and loud young men driving their ATVs around, playing volleyball, and running around the property. When we flagged this with the owners, they said that their son was having a bachelor party and would be using the property for their activities. We were never asked or consulted on this, just told that this would be happening. Jeff said that we were "welcome to continue to use the dock and other facilities on the property" and that they were shared with them. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior and completely false advertising for the house and property. We were seeking solitude and privacy in the northwoods, which was exactly why we chose this rental in the first place. Had we known that we had to share the space with a bachelor party, we would definitely have not rented this house in the first place. The house itself is fine, but basic.
What a great spot. Total privacy, great little cabin, crystal clear water, large open areas for walks and or kids, wonderful hosts.
We will be coming back.
Our family spent six wonderful days on this property. Lots of room to explore different things. Saw deer on the property almost every day. Very very good Lake also
Jeff and his wife are the most welcoming and accommodating hosts! The property is newly renovated and well maintained. Lots of privacy with your own dock for swimming and fishing on one of the most cleanest lakes. It is close to the towns of Longville and Hackensack where we had fun biking for miles on Paul Bunion trail. This vacation property will definitely go on our âfavoritesâ list!
Established in 1900, North Star Camp (NSC) was one of the oldest resorts in Cass County. The resort originally consisted of a log lodge with 12 individual log cabins. It was completely self-sufficient, with the owners growing their own crops and raising their own livestock. NSC ceased operating as a resort in the 1960s and the current owners have worked to preserve the history of the resort, including the remaining four cabins on the property.
