Nice place enjoyed our stay. Property is well equipped with everything you need to enjoy the beach. Restaurants and bars within walking distance. The grill is old and wasn't functioning properly but otherwise everything was great.
Our family of 6 adults and 1 infant truly enjoyed our stay at Suncatcher. Sitting on the decks with an unobstructed ocean view and walking just over the dunes to the beach was my favorite part of our vacation. We saw gulls, pelicans, dolphins, lizards and beautiful vistas. Because the house is centrally located, we were able to walk or bike to restaurants, shopping, and Fort Macon. Our family loves to cook, so we were very impressed with the variety of the available utensils, place settings and cookware. Our king-sized bed was firm yet comfortable with clean linens and fresh pillows. I loved the open plan of the top floor and the privacy of the bedrooms on the level below. The only complaints I have, and the reason for the 4-star rating for cleanliness, is the family room chairs should be replaced, reupholstered or thoroughly shampooed because they have obviously been well used and the windows needed washing. Even so, I would definitely recommend staying at Suncatcher.
The property was very nice. When we arrived at the property, the clothes drier wouldnât dry our clothes. After calling the property manager, the problem was fixed within 4 hours. The property was okay clean, but there were some piles of sand behind doors, there some sticky spots in the floors around the kitchen, and there were clothes left in drawers and closets. Also, there were quite a few ants and palmetto bugs in the property. I understand that keeping ants and bugs completely under control is near impossible. They did put out some ant poison while we were there and I also saw someone spraying the perimeter of the property while we there so I think they are trying the best they can to keep bugs under control.
We have stayed in several rental houses and condos and this was the most well stocked kitchen we have ever had. It is well labeled. There were good nonstick pans. We were able to cook pancakes and eggs without them sticking.
It is right on the ocean. There is an open shower and a hose under the deck. There is also a hose on the second deck level and a hose spigot on the third level porch.
The rooms closest to the public parking and beach access do get some noise from the parking lot through the night.
We have spent many summer vacations in Salter Path at our familyâs place. We decided to rent a vacation house so we could include our adult children and grandchildren. The location was great! Close to restaurants and bars for the adults. Close to grocery store and of course beautiful beach views and swimming! The house was beautiful and spacious and included everything we needed.
Our 2nd time staying at this property. Everything was excellent! The upstairs AC wasn't cooling properly when we arrived but was fixed within 2 hours of us reporting the issue.
The house had no TVâs other than the one in the living room. The boom box speaker was older than all of my nephews. They didnât know what a cassette player was. The walk out to the beach felt like a marathon with a hill included. The stairs on the house were steep, my nephews kept falling down the stairs.
The house was wonderful, plenty of room for big families and the views were incredible.
The only down side of the trip was all the riffraff that occurrs right next door in the parking lot of the public beach access, at all hours at night. It wouldnât have bothered me if we werenât with any kiddos, however it was a bit concerning since we had a little one with us. Im not sure if itâs like that all the time or if it was a one off but just very loud at all hours, drug deals that went down, multiple police visits at all hours, ect.
The grill also didnât work but the management company came out the very next day and got that fixed for us. Overall, everyone was super responsive, check in was a breeze, the house was very nice with lots of room and the views were incredible!
Clean, well appointed property with plenty of space for all. It actually has 5 bedrooms which worked out perfectly for us. Great location with a variety of places to eat in easy walking distance.
An outdoor shower would be an awesome plus!
We rented the house to stay while we volunteered with the Morehead City Military Appreciation Day event. Other than a few items left on the decks by the previous guests, the home was very clean and well-maintained. Beautiful property, and we're already planning to rent again for next year.
The house was an amazing setting for our family getaway. It had everything we needed. There was plenty of space to be all together but also places to sneak off and read a book by yourself. The beach was quiet and perfect. We enjoyed the restaurant next door and others in town. We also enjoyed driving into Beaufort and the shops and restaurant.
The house was clean, had plenty of space, and had beautiful views from both decks. A few lamps didnât work, but overall well appointed house. Reverse floor plan was perfect for offering beautiful views of the ocean from inside as well!
