Paradis en plein air tranquille dans la forêt nationale d'Ocala

La cabane à Cedar Landing est votre base pour explorer les possibilités de randonnée, de pêche, de canotage (canoë et kayak), d'observation des oiseaux et de chasse dans la forêt nationale d'Ocala. Une cabane en rondins de 1 500 pieds carrés, 2 BR / 2 BA pouvant accueillir confortablement six personnes (le canapé du salon se déplie) est perchée sur une clairière au-dessus de +6 acres de forêt en pente vers le réservoir Rodman et la rivière Oklawaha. Le sentiment est tranquille et rustique, mais avec des équipements modernes tels que le WiFi et la climatisation / chauffage central.

Promenez-vous sur un court chemin boisé pour pêcher au quai avec vue sur la Cross Florida Greenway, ou remorquez vos canoës et kayaks au même endroit ou sur un certain nombre de sentiers de pagaie à proximité. La rivière regorge de bars, brochets, silures, perches, alligators gar, mudfish et occasionnels gators. Les sentiers de pagaie sont ombragés par des auvents de forêt et vous transportent au cœur du monde naturel. Les lancements de bateaux pour les plus gros bateaux sont situés à Hog Valley (5 minutes en voiture sur des routes pavées) et Rodman Reservoir (15 minutes en voiture sur des chemins de terre); accès à la rue John's River est disponible à la fois au réservoir Rodman et à Salt Springs (à 25 minutes, routes pavées).

Le Florida National Scenic Hiking Trail est à 3, 5 miles à l'est, sur un chemin de terre qui peut être parcouru ou conduit. Plus de 60 miles du sentier traversent la forêt nationale d'Ocala. Le Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail est à proximité, et la faune vue sur / près de la propriété comprend: les dindes sauvages, les pygargues à tête blanche, divers types de cerfs, les cardinaux, les grues du Canada, les geais des garrigues, les ours noirs et plus encore. Faites une pause dans les aventures en plein air pour profiter de la paix et de la tranquillité sur le porche grillagé de 65 pieds de long avec des ventilateurs de plafond et une vue sur la forêt.

Salt Springs, avec plusieurs restaurants, magasins, baignade et lancement de bateau à St. John's River est à 25 minutes en voiture. Hog Valley, avec un salon et un dépanneur, est à 5-10 minutes en voiture. Notez que les épiceries et les stations-service les plus proches se trouvent à Palatka (40 minutes en voiture, en partie sur un chemin de terre) et à Salt Springs (25 minutes, routes pavées).

I wish there were more than 5 stars to give because this place and its host deserve it! This was truly the best vacation our family has had. The cabin was warm and inviting so it immediately felt like home. The location was perfect for the “get away from it all” feeling and close to all of the outdoor activities and trails that our family enjoys. The neighborhood is quiet and neighbors are friendly. The host was more than accommodating, always quick to respond and provided a clean, well stocked and beautiful home for us to stay in. The only negative thing about our trip is that it came to an end. I highly recommend booking this stay!

Wonderful Cabin on Large Private Wooded Lot

We enjoyed our stay in this rustic log cabin located on a large wooded lot with a trail down to the lake. We had our coffee and breakfast every morning on the screened in back porch, watching the wild life stroll past beneath the beautiful old oak and magnolia trees.

Good week at the cabin

It was a good week at the cabin. Everything was clean and the place is beautiful. If you want to be off the beaten path, this is the place for you. But plan on some extra driving if you plan to go anywhere as this property is quite remote and the access road to the cabin is a fairly rough and hilly sand road but our minivan made it ok. But if you want a secluded, beautiful place, this is a good one!

I loved being out in the Ocala National Forest area yet being within a neighborhood. The location was nice. What was a bad experience was the roads getting to the house. One road is 100% unusable and the other is very bad. You almost need a truck or higher vehicle to access the house. While this is in no way the owners fault, it needs to be known that it is a risk for low level vehicles.

Nice Cabin in Ocala

This was a nice spacious cabin and convenient to Silver Springs and Salt Springs. With a few changes, this place could be perfect. I would recommend that the owners have a larger table. The cabin sleeps up to 10 people, we had 6, but there isn't a place for everyone to sit and have a meal together or play games. I would recommend the same for the porch. Also, the porch was not clean to sit on. The chairs were dirty, it wasn't swept and there was even food all around the outdoor table (which seats 4). I don't blame the owners for this. Obviously, it is the cleaning company. The coffee pot, teapot, dish drainer, etc were unusable because they were unclean. The pots and pans were scratched, old, and unusable. Honestly, the cabin would be a perfect place to stay for a large gathering (lots of outdoor space for the kids to run around) if these few things were fixed. A new cleaning company, seating for at least 6 at the table for games, etc., and new items, (including more than 4 coffee cups) for the kitchen. That would make all the difference. The owners were very friendly and helpful and I wish them the best of luck.

Thank you for taking the time to summit a review. I was unpleasantly surprised to hear about the food on the porch. This will not happen again. I am so sorry about that. We will be upgrading some of the pots before June, as some are indeed aging. Nonetheless, I'd like to assure those booked in the near future that the pots and pans are definitely usable! My family and I were at the cabin over this past weekend and cooked full breakfasts, steak, sea food, and several side dishes without any issues. As well, there are more than four mugs, but only four that match. As far as dining capacity is concerned, we had good luck hosting Thanksgiving for 15 people there by moving all the tables in a row on the screened porch. The porch is quite deep, so there is plenty of room to link the dining room table to the French cafe tables. Although the dining room is simply too small for a six-person table, I will look into tables for the porch that more conveniently seat a larger number of people. In the mean time, the kitchen/ dining area has a table for 4 and a bar with 4 chairs. There is also an outdoor picnic table that seats 6, plus the French cafe tables (one seats 4; the other 2). As a relatively new owner, I appreciate the feedback and am constantly working to improve our guests' experiences!

Great location in the county

We absolutely loved the screen-in porch—spent almost all of our time out there. Some new chair pads would be good, but there are lots of chairs and a table and we watched the wild turkeys stroll by.

Cabin in Ocala Forest

The cabin is roomy and cozy. It has all the amenities you would need to be comfortable in your stay. A perfect getaway from the city hustle. Our family had a great time. We played outdoors with the kids in shaded areas under the trees, went on small trails, enjoyed the board games, cooked and simply chilled in the covered porch watching turkeys run by and simply listening to the sounds of nature. The host is very responsive and replied to all our questions within a minute. She even arranged for a plumber within an hour to fix a small leak in the kitchen. Internet was excellent and TV is a smartTV so you could watch Netflix, etc. Closest gas station, grocery store and restaurants are 20 mins away. Salt springs, silver springs, farm visits, ATV rentals, nature trails and fishing are some outdoor options. Some constructive feedback - House is slightly off the main road (which is good) but access road to the house is country. So a SUV or truck is better suited for a small rough patch. Read and follow the host’s instructions to get there very carefully else you will get lost like us the first time. The cushions on the porch furniture and sofa needs replacement.

Cedar cabin

Location was awesome. Very peaceful and love watching the turkeys in the morning. Only issue was driveway as we always bring our boat and it was a bit of a trick getting in and out.

GREAT PLACE TO CHILL

I took my friends 2 teenage daughters there. It was hot hot hot, so we stayed in for the most part. We played board games, watched movies, I brought guitars and there was already one there. We did fish at nearby pier. That was cool. Look forward to staying there again and hike. Just when it is cooler. Very cool country feel to it, but yet has a/c.

Many Memories

My family had an AMAZING time at the cabin! It felt very welcoming!! Love the cedar everywhere!! The property was perfect for a great game of kickball or outdoor fun! The fire pit provided the perfect setting for S’mores and sharing stories!! Thanks so much for a perfect getaway!!

Great cozy get away.

Nice cabin !

Great for exploring Ocala National forest .Nice cabin semi secluded . Does have neihbors surrounding it w shared waterfront for fishing w small dirt boat ramp. Lisa was easy to get in touch with w any questions. We went to Kayak Juniper run but was closed due to bear rampaging campsites . We kayaker the Oklawaha river from Gores landing to back to Rd 316 bridge at Oklawaha Canoe Outpost ran by Andrea and Lance. Had a great time beautiful river w lots of wildlife including wild monkeys. Good fishing w big Laremouth. Everthing we needed was at cabin. My only recommendaction would be small Maintenance to cabin . There where many lights out only one that worked on deck and some clogged sinks . They were minor and did not bother us really . Would stay again if we get back to try Juniper springs . Thank you Lisa for all !

Very peaceful and cozy

We went to this cabin (with our grown kids) the day after Christmas and this year we decided to stay closer to home. We live in Miami and instead of going to North Carolina or Virginia or even Colorado we drove about six hours north to get away and disconnect. The cabin is so quaint and cozy with all the amenities a family needs. We had 5 sleep in the main cabin and 4 sleep in the bunkhouse. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the trails on the 6+ acre property and sat around the fire pit together for hours. The fireplace inside the cabin was wonderful and although we stayed off our phones we did appreciate the fact that the cabin offered Wifi and netflix. The kitchen is so spacious and we all enjoyed cooking together with plenty of space. Lisa Katz communicated with us throughout the process and is wonderful to work with. We highly recommend this cozy cabin in the woods!

Amazing large and comfortable cabin in an incredibly quiet spot!

The cabin is actually a log home with tons of room and comfy spots to curl up. A huge kitchen is a plus. We loved the hand hewn beams and walls with warm paneling all around. We spent lots of time on the giant screened porch overlooking the wood just soaking in the quiet. That's quiet with a Q, birds, crickets and the breeze, with an occasional far off car or boat down on the river. A half hour drive took us to Silver Springs recreation area and "town" with a great diner and friendly people. All around a great stay!
