Le Wave Den est un pittoresque cottage de 4 chambres rĂ©cemment rĂ©novĂ© nichĂ© dans un cul-de-sac privĂ© entourĂ© de chĂȘnes verts dans le charmant village de Sound and Sea de Duck. Avec seulement 5 minutes Ă  pied (1 000 pieds) de l'une des meilleures plages (et la plupart des chiens) dans les Outer Banks, vous serez sĂ»r de faire beaucoup de bons souvenirs. Il y a un vaste espace extĂ©rieur pour savourer la lumiĂšre du soleil et les brises fraĂźches de l'ocĂ©an pendant les mois de printemps, Ă©tĂ© et automne. Et, s'il fait trop chaud, il y a une zone ombragĂ©e sous la maison pour que les enfants jouent et la famille se rassemble autour du grill pour dĂźner en plein air. Le porche filtrĂ© est l'endroit idĂ©al pour dĂ©guster tranquillement une tasse de cafĂ© tous les matins ou siroter un verre de vin le soir. The Sound (beaux couchers de soleil) est seulement une courte distance de marche. Le vĂ©lo / sentier Ă  proximitĂ© sont parfaits pour faire de l'exercice, promener le chien ou faire du vĂ©lo dans la ville de Canard. The house is comfortable and feels private due to the trees and shrubbery while being close to the beach and the main attractions in Duck. The host was responsive and helpful, much appreciated.

Very clean and quiet place. A bit dated in the bedroom furnishings and the price was reflective of needing some updates. I would absolutely stay here again. The beach wasnt crowded and most of the street are residents vs rentals.

Taylor’s house is in such a great location at end of cul de sac. communication was always quick and accurate. such a special experience being able to take pets with us. great access to wonderful beach, yet home feels like you are in your own private retreat.

Loved it

We had a wonderful time here. The house has everything you’d need for the beach, sports equipment, a peaceful screened porch, and a very cozy feeling overall. The beach is a quick walk down a private road, and we really enjoyed our time in Duck, which is quieter than other parts of the OBX but with lots of great restaurants, shops, and a terrific boardwalk on the sound.

Wonderful house with amazing screened-in porch!

Even though our week coincided with a tropical storm, I treasured the time with my two teenagers and our two dogs, particular since my son is about to go to boarding school for his last two years of high school. The host was very communicative and friendly. I asked for suggestions of how we could celebrate my son’s 17th birthday and Taylor gave me quite a few options. The house is clean and adorable. We had no problem walking to the beach and so appreciated the covered space underneath to let our things dry. The hose and outdoor shower were so convenient! Our favorite place to be (especially in the rain) was in the screened in porch!! The house is right in Duck. We would definitely return!

Memorial Day weekend

This is a great place to stay for a large family or a few adults. The Hugh deck and screened in pouch are great for rainy morning or relaxing in the evening.

Cozy Cottage

It was our second year at the house. It is cozy and as described. Nice, private neighborhood and beach. It could use new appliances and a more thorough cleaning but we had a great stay overall. We will be back next year!

Lovely Cottage

We loved this cute cottage ! Plenty of space, clean, nice size bedrooms, big decks and we loved the screened in deck. Great space to enjoy your morning coffee and playing games in the evenings. And a GREAT location, a short walk to the beach and the sound. We absolutely loved it. We definitely will be back !

The Wave Den is a Gem!

Our family has never been to OBX. I was toying around with the idea when the Wave Den happen to pop up across my screen from VRBO. It was such a cute little place online, though the pictures do not do it justice at all! We were at home from the moment we walked in. It’s much bigger than you think, especially underneath the house. There’s a spot for everything! Coffee is perfect on the front porch in the early am - with a gorgeous breeze. We will truly miss our pineapple whiskey nightcaps on the back deck with music. The side and front decks are amazing for the night sky after coming off the beautiful beach - especially when you turn off all the lights for the full effect! We cooked at home many nights (but ate out a lot too at all the fabulous nearby places in Duck, Corolla, Kitty Hawk) and the Wave Den has everything you need to make it all perfect - just like home. Keurig, large coffee pot, dishwasher, toaster oven, pots/pans, utensils, grilling tools, washer, dryer, nice sized bathrooms. The bookcases in the living room give it an extra comfy feel, too. The little notes, tips and recommendations on the fridge from the owners were greatly appreciated. Thank you for being so inviting and sharing the Wave Den with others. Our family will never forget this trip and will be back “for shore”!

Family beach week

We all enjoyed this cozy cottage, especially the screened porch. Room enough for all. The beach was close enough and the beach cart made taking the gear easy. Taylor, the manager was quick to help with questions we had. Nice place.

Ducky OBX

For our needs a perfect fit, nice neighborhood, easy beach access, pup friendly. Kiddos played basketball, volleyball, rode the rented bikes, much beach time. The home itself very nice without being over the top. The screen porch was perfect for outdoor meals, book reading, kids putting Lego 's together. The inside living area is not huge square footage but very user friendly. Hope to return.

Home away from home

Returning this year and finding “our” house even better than last year was a delight. Freshly painted with new sofas ..delightful! Best of all new copper infused mattress tops that are bacteria and bug resilient
and amazingly comfortable!! All the thoughtful amenities are there as well, Keurig coffee maker, Dyson vacuum, hair dryer, and much more. The A/C is very good. Wi-Fi is just a little slow. As always we arrived to a clean fresh beach bungalow that is secluded in a quite cul-de-sac. The screened porch is perfect for quiet morning coffee and rowdy evening UNO games. Duck NC is a friendly village that has so far resisted high rise super condos.

Charming cottage

The setting for this cozy cottage is wonderful. Besides being a short walk to the beach access it feels so private because it sits at the end of a short road and is surrounded by evergreens. This is an old-fashioned beach community, the kind that is often lost to mega houses. The permanant residents took time to talk with us as we strolled the main road to and from the beach. Some have lived there most of their lives while others have chosen to retire to this special community. The cottage itself is a raised ranch so it has only one set of stairs for those who struggle with 3 and 4 level homes. I gave it only 3 stars for cleanliness because it looked as if the cleaners did only a partial job before leaving. After contacting Taylor, we found out that there was an unavoidable problem with the cleaning crew. She wanted to get someone back out there but we felt that we had already taken care of the most pressing problems ourselves. Still we appreciated her willingness to make things right. Finally I gave the accuracy of the listing a 4 because I felt like some of the positive aspects of the house and the neighborhood were not mentioned and should be. With it's location so near "downtown" Duck and yet Corolla and Nags Head just a quick drive away, Wave Den is a winner.

Even better than last year

We love renting this house in a quiet ,secluded location an easy walk from the beach. We were very happy with the upgrades to the house since we stayed there last year. The carpeting is gone, replaced with easy care linoleum floor throughout which was very easy to keep clean, and not something I had to worry about my dog possibly damaging. The floor looks great too, in keeping with the beachy vibe of the house. The front and back decks are all new, they look terrific. The front stairs with their deep treads easy to traverse with one’s luggage or groceries, what have you. This the perfect relaxing house for a vacation at the shore. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful North Carolina weather, the screened in porch perfect for meals with its large round table and 4 large benches and a large, modern new fan overhead, we ate every meal there. The star gazing from the decks is amazing, great for bird watching too. We saw a group of deer walk by one morning too. Previous guests have left various items to share with others renting the house such as paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, spices in the kitchen, etc. We love that. I cannot recommend this house enough, although I don’t want to go on about it too much so that there will be some availability when we want to stay there again!

We had such a wonderful time at Wave Den! Everything was very clean, things were easy to find! We loved how there were things for the beach as well as cornhole! It is so close to the beach and the neighborhood was easy to navigate. Would definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect house for our family! Lots of outdoor space and very clean and nice inside! Kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and utensils! A short walk to the beach and a great little community with friendly neighbors!

Just ducky!

We just got back from a week stay at The Wave Den and it was perfectly appointed for our family of 6 for a vacation filled with firsts. We have always traveled with family or friends. This was our first vacation with just our kids and I’m so glad I found this place. So close to the beach and in between Kitty Hawk and Corolla. Kids did body boarding, paddle boarding and kayaking for the first time in ocean/bay waters. And we can’t forget our fur baby—who also took her first vacation with us. It’s not always easy to find rentals that allow pets, especially larger breeds. Our girl loved the screened in porch where she could chat with the neighborhood doggies about all the critters she saw and waves she surfed the day before. Plenty of beach gear for use; loved the beach wagon and outdoor shower.
