We loved the house. It was unique, on great property, nicely located for all our explorations, and great to come back to. Everything was as advertised; it was warm and comfortable. A great place to stay.
This property is beautiful. We had plenty of space and had plenty of privacy! Great location to get away and yet still close enough to all kinds of towns!!
A great, quiet setting for some meetings we had in nearby Wiscasset
Elizabeth was helpful and responsive to questions. Was delighted to see the poster of Charleston's Angel Oak as I'm originally from the low- Country! Felt like home. Appreciated the use of spices in the cupboard, too.
Wonderful stay. Clean home set back from the road. Everything we needed to cook meals. Washer and dryer was a plus. Could have been a little faster cycle, but worked very well. (My opinion). Overall our stay was great!
A very comfortable, spacious and beautiful home to stay close to Wiscasset and Boothbay Harbor.
We loved the timberframe home and quiet location. If we ever return to tge area we would very much stay again. Wiscasset and Boithbay Harbor are not too far away. Tge Botanical Garden in Boothbay Harbor is wonderful and the best thing about Boothbay Harbor. We would visit the botanical gardens again for sure. If you need a relaxing vacatiin away from tourists and crowds the Eagle Lodge is great! Its very private and tgere is a lit if lical wildlife to see at tge house and grounds. Thanks for the opportunity Elizabeth!
The house is a very nice house. It was a bit farther out then we thought. Iâm not sure if we misjudged the distance or if the map is slightly incorrect. Not that big of a deal. We were off by about 15 minute drive. The house is very lovely and felt very comfy.
Our stay was great start to finish! The host was responsive and friendly. The property was even better than we had hoped for! Large and roomy - very positive. Air conditioners upstairs were great! Instructions within the house were clear - no problems. Our dog loved roaming around the extensive property! We sat on the deck in the mornings in the adirondack chairs and had coffee. Watched the birds at the feeders - saw deer in the adjacent field - also saw a mama turkey with 5 babies! We were only a few minutes away from Red's Eats - for the best LOBSTER in Maine! Close to a diner and gas station and grab and go store. Pizza place in nearby Wiscasset was great. The house is perfect for anyone who wants to relax - enjoy surroundings that are positive and make you feel at home. Laundry was onsite - bonus! She has thought of everything!! Can't wait to come back in the future!! Thank you!!!

Misrepresenation
This property is blatantly misrepresented at least 3-4 times in its online description. It says it is âON the Eastern Riverâ and teases with use of kayaks, dock etc. We reserved the house specifically for its alleged proximity to the River: we only rent houses where our water dog can swim. In fact, the River isâat least during late July/Augustâ inaccessible. You can only get to it by going down a very long unpaved driveway, then across a 2-lane State highway, finally a dicey walk through heavily wooded marshland. Even the supposedly red cloth-marked entry point to the woods was missing. Now: the house itself was quite nice, though again, there is a BUT: it is described as air-conditioned. It is, but only in the 2 bedrooms. While the description accurately states that fact, what it doesnât say is that the air conditioners (which ARE effective for those 2 bedrooms) are stand-on-FLOOR models about 3-4â high, which vent through a huge coil out of open windows. They are EXTREMELY loud, and anyone who is a light sleeper is going to have real problems. When we brought the NOT âon the riverâ misrepresentation to the ownerâs attention after our stay, and asked for a 50% refund, she agreed to a refund but only for a very minor amount. Very unfair and inequitable.
Elizabethâs home was wonderful for our familyâs long weekend. Very clean and well maintained. Great property with lots of space to wander and explore. Hope to be back!
We enjoyed our stay, beautiful spot, property owner and manager were both very responsive. An A/C failed, owner immediately purchased replacement. Enjoyed the wildlife and tranquility.
We had a great stay at "The Eagle's Nest" while visiting family. It is an excellent location to access inland and coastal central and southern Maine, letting us get out for some adventures without needing to commit an entire day to any one thing. The house is spacious, homey, and quiet, with all the amenities we needed to keep comfortable.
Elizabeth is very nice and easy to deal with on making changes and her property is very nice, however the description of the property is very misleading. It is listed as a 3 bedroom. As stated in the description "Bedroom 3 sleep sofa/futon(2),South bedroom sleep sofa/futon (1), queen, Bedroom south sleep sofa/futon(1),queen9(1)". In Actual, Bedroom 3 is not usable/it is locked. South bedroom has a queen bed and bedroom south has a queen bed, these are the bedrooms upstairs. There are NO FUTONS, the idea of a futon for extra sleeping is just a futon mattress (full of bugs) to be use on the floor...there was not futon. I rented the house because of the 3 Bedrooms, for my family to use. I have adult children with their husbands that needed their own private space to sleep. Come to my surprise upon checking in that was not the case. Also, the description states "home set on Eastern River...kayak from dock on river". What it does not show or state is that the dock is down the long entry driveway and across the street through the woods/marsh. And to my surprise the house is not A/C. It did have 2 window A/C in the upstairs bedrooms, but when there was no electric, they were of no use either.
We stayed at Elizabethâs place with our family of six (four boys ages 11-19) It was peaceful and cozy. The river across the street was beautiful. We did not have a chance to use the kayaks due to the low tide but they were available for use. The home was a convenient location for day trips. The main bedroom beds were comfy. Our boys slept on the futon mattresses in the loft and were fine with that arrangement. My favorite part of the house was sitting on the front porch enjoying the sunsets.
Elizabeth was very accommodating and responded quickly to questions.
Overall this was a good place to stay for a relaxing family getaway.
This is a lovely, well cared for home in rural Maine. The large house and property are tucked away, but close enough to everything that you donât feel isolated. We enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels at the multiple birdfeeders in the mornings and evenings. Host was kind and let us know promptly whenever the manager was going to visit the property (to collect garbage or mow). We really enjoyed our stay.
This is such a beautiful place to stay. The home is gorgeous and location perfect for getting to many activities. The river is great for kayaking and fishing. The privacy is remarkable. Hiking on the trails on the 70 acre property was invigorating. Great place to stay.
My husband and I were in town to visit our daughter and her husband and meet our new granddaughter. The location was perfect for us and the property was delightful. It very much had a cabin in the woods feel with lots of personality and charm, and lots of great books. This is the host's personal home, but she leaves the premises and guests have the run of the house to themselves. We felt very comfortable and at home during our stay. Peter, her property manager was available, but very respectful of our privacy. We would definitely book this property again.
Our family had a wonderful time at Elizabeth's home. The property was beautiful with plenty of room for outdoor activities. The house was spacious and had all the amenities you could ask for. The owner and property manager were quick to respond to all inquiries. This is a must stay especially if you're looking for a home centrally located to many wonderful Maine day trips.
Very clean and beautiful house.
It was surprising that people in that part of Maine drive the way they do, not careful but that was another story. The house is nice.
Sitting on a hill over looking the Eastern River, Easy access to major points in midcoast Maine. Ocean minutes away. Enjoy the beauty and nature of midcoast Maine
