Great house with wonderful view of the sound, marsh, and birds. The back porch is terrific. Cedar Island, Harkers Island, and the Cape Lookout Lighthouse are close by. We've been coming for several years and always look forward to getting away Down East
The back porch is our favorite feature of the house, sitting out there watching all the bird life, the bunnies in the yard, just enjoying the peace and quiet.
Relaxing and welcoming stay did not disappoint. Even with rainy weather we could enjoy the view. Owner was excellent to work with and quick to respond to all of our needs.
The property was as described, clean, and well provisioned. The view from the porch is spectacular. I took a group of employees down for a fishing trip and this was the perfect base for a great week of fishing. We had a blast and plan to go back next year.
This home was just what we needed to come back to after a long day of duck hunting in Cedar Island. It was clean, the beds were very comfortable and it has plenty of room. The property manager was excellent to work with as well. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in the Cedar Island area.
The house was a great location, stocked with what we needed, and easy to clean up at checkout. I had a question upon arrival and it was quickly answered.
Menâs fishing trip. This was a great spot to hang out with a group of guys for a flounder fishing trip. Great views from the back porch, convenient to several boat launches. Everything we needed for half a dozen guys to fellowship, fish, and just generally hang out and have a good time. Definitely would stay here again. We stayed last year in a similar house from the same folks,, it was great also.
This is the 3rd time we've been here and loved every stay. The back porch overlooking the marsh and sound is the best. We love watching the birds and wildlife from the porch and eating meals there. There's usually a breeze that keeps the insects at bay. The nearness of the boat ramp at Salter Creek is another bonus and the beach at Cedar Island is a wonderful place to go and not be surrounded by other folks. It's a good place to go to relax.
We wanted someplace to go where we could rest and relax. This was perfect. We brought all our food because we didn't want to go out at all. The kitchen could use a few more items like baking dishes, tops that fit the pots, etc. Towel racks in the bathrooms would be a great addition as well. There were a few dust bunnies around, but overall it was very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location, cute home to rent, spacious. On the online listing, I wish I would have known the pull out couch was in the loft for proper sleeping arrangements to be planned out. The home needed a deep clean as there was candy papers, dust and dirt under the beds and couches. Overall, great experience and nearly a full kitchen of dishes and cooking supplies. Due to location, I recommend to bring your own groceries or get them on your way in as there isnât anything local within 25 mins
Overall it was a nice property . Only concern we had was the amount of bird poop in the lower parking space. This could be a very big problem for someone with kids who would likely be down there running around when outside. They really need to address this problem.
First time getting a place like this. Normally I get hotels because I was afraid of the hassle and scammers. There was zero hassle very simple booking and checking in. When I needed anything the property manager replied immediately or called. Great location we were able to visit shackleford cape lookout and Emerald Isle from this location. Clean beautiful exactly as pictured. Everything was provided even things I wouldnât even thought to bring. I decided to extend our stay and the host made it very easy to do so. We had 7 people 4 adults three kids there was plenty of space for everyone. Weâre already planning another trip and will definitely be using this hosts properties for our next trip. Worth every single penny
Kin was so quick in her responses to my questions and very helpful. My friend and I very much enjoyed our four days at this lovely property! The pictures do not do it justice and we suggest getting professional shots done for the listing. Also, having the critters cleared from the interior of the windows would be a good idea. Our black furry house mate might have frightened other visitors đ
Itâs within a beautiful ten minute drive to a white sandy beach and easy 2-hr ferry ride to lovely touristy Okracoke island. Ferry only costs $1 each way!!
Our favorite activity was sitting on the back porch overlooking the sound, listening to the various birds, and reading. It truly was a perfect fit for our kind of vacationing! Hoping to return in the future.
The home is well appointed, and has almost anything you may need during your stay. The Open floor plan is nice for meals and resting after adventures on Core Sound. The living room is comfortable and the house has great internet for staying connected or streaming if you so choose. There was a lot of thought put into the guest book with information on nearby dining, ferries, and beach accesses. The property manager Kim and her son were both quick to respond to questions or issues, and quickly remedied schedule issues several weeks ahead of our stay as well as one problem at the beginning of our stay. The house borders a marshy area and the mosquitoes can be ferocious. I kid you not, one of them monsters drug a decent blue crab out of the canal kicking and screaming đ. Please heed the warnings to bring bug spray for any stay on the NC sounds. They only really got bad two days of our 7 day stay, but that was plenty. The house location is a bit away from the action of Morehead City and Atlantic Beach, but still close enough for day trips to sight see or enjoy some activities. The small dock was nice and there are ample small blue crabs to see and catch if you want to drop a hand line or pot overnight. The only thing Iâd like to mention is that there are 2 photos on the VRBO Listing that are not from this property. They are photo number 22 & 23 with the caption âFishing off the dockâ and âViews from the porchâ. These two photos are from the yellow house Kim manages a little farther into Stacy. We enjoyed our stay and will keep Kim in mind next time we plan a stay in Carteret County. Thanks for a great vacation!

We love Carteret County and all it has to offer. We travel much but always say no where is prettier than Carteret County. If offers water sports, hunting, fishing, nature. You can always find something to do or you can find a nice sandy spot and just relax. It is a very unique place that holds its cultured dear and like to share many of those aspects with travelers.
The home is spacious, has nice porches and a large patio. The home has a pier and boat slips the renter can use. The home has one king bed, one queen bed, two twin beds and one sleeper sofa. It is fully furnished. The loft has a sofa and a game table. All new furniture and great views. The home is close to the boat ramp, and ferry. It is a great location for kayaking and for the hunter and fisherman. It is a short boat ride to drum inlet and Cape Lookout
