We SO enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. So peaceful and relaxing with beautiful views of the lake and of surrounding nature. The host was so helpful and responded promptly to any questions. Check in was smooth and easy. Would gladly stay here again and recommend this property highly to anyone wanting to stay in the Traverse City area!
We were on Old Mission for a wedding at the Peninsula Room. The rental was conveniently located and very clean. Would definitely stay again if ever in the area.
This was a very comfortable site in a beautiful location. Perfect for the weekend getaway for my family. The owner communicated well and was truly great to work with!
My husband and I stayed for three nights in early November. The property was clean and very well furnished, the host was sweet and responsive, and the location was perfect. We relaxed and enjoyed the view and took advantage of the quick trip to great wineries, downtown Traverse City, and beautiful hiking. It was our first time to the area but we are definitely planning to return and hope to stay at this wonderful property again!
We had a great stay at Mimi's celebrating anniversaries with another couple. Close to all of the activities on Old Mission Peninsula and Traverse City. Beautiful view of West Bay. Mimi was a great host and made us feel very welcome. Would love to visit again!
This is a wonderful apartment. It's a duplex, but you have total privacy. Very clean and well stocked apartment. Might require driving or ride service to get downtown, but great access to wineries on the peninsula for tours and such. Definitely recommend.
Quite, comfortable hideaway on Old Mission Peninsula
I stayed at a fantastic rental property last weekend that exceeded my expectations. The space was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly roomy, making it perfect for relaxation after a day of exploring. Its location was ideal, just a short drive from the local wineries and the vibrant downtown Traverse City. The host was welcoming and provided helpful recommendations, enhancing my experience. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the region.
Great location and beautiful home in MI wine country
Was such a beautiful and clean home and Mimi was so kind enough to write out a thoughtful note along with a small bag of chocolates to welcome our group! We were there to try out some of the local wineries/vineyards and come to find out, thereâs one within walking distance. Would definitely consider Mimiâs house for future trips to the area!
Loved the area! The house was the perfect size for our needs. Very clean. We appreciated the binder with info about the area. Mimi was very responsive to our needs. Highly recommend!
We had a great stay on a beautiful property. Our host was there but invisible. Check in and check out were seamless. We didnât eat there during our stay but all the staples were there if we needed. Daily, I enjoyed my morning coffee that was provided (with creamer) while enjoying fantastic views out the window. Thank you for helping to make a family wedding weekend as stress free as possible.
The property was just perfect especially for handicapped people as everything is on one floor and the master bath is wheelchair accessible. Beautiful view and access to beach -plus you can enjoy a drink on the deck to celebrate the day. Thamks
We loved Mimi and Gary's place. The location is wonderful got to see the bay everyday, listening to waves and the sounds of Traverse Bay. Close to all we wanted to enjoy. Met Mimi, Gary and their Ziggy... great dog. Visited a couple of wineries enjoyed the views at all of them. Ate awesome whitefish dip at Fishtown with drinks of course. Enjoyed local beach in this hot weather. Jolly Pumpkin was great food. In the evenings we enjoyed the condo/apartment playing cards and listening to music. Truley and great place and outstanding host. Thanks Mimi we will see you again there is no doubt.
After parking in the private two stall garage, you enter a luxurious sanctuary with an open floor plan and vaulted ceilings. The carpet looks like new and there is plenty of room for a couple of couples to hang out while discussing the adventures of the day. The master bedroom is huge, sporting large windows with a view of traverse bay and a large en suite with walk in shower and closet. Not kidding about the shower - it is wheelchair accessible.
The second bedroom is very nice, with private access to a shared bathroom with shower. It included a desk which we used to check in with work while we were there. The kitchen, though modest, served our needs easily.
Great location; only a few miles out of town and very quiet. Highly recommended!
Mimiâs place was fantastic! It was clean, spacious, comfortable, and conveniently located to so many amazing Traverse City favorites. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone. Mimi was a very responsive kind and fabulous host!
My husband and I moved to Traverse City in 2015. We fell in love with the beauty of the area and the wonderful community spirit. We own a manufacturing business in Grawn, and I am a consultant that works with wineries and vineyards here in the area and California and Oregon. I was born and raised in Mexico City, went to university Santa Clara University in CA, and the International School of International Management in Glendale, AZ. We have lived in Hawaii, Philippines and Thailand before spending 18 years in Sonoma County. I like to travel, bike, hike, and enjoy good food and wine. I love meeting new people and sharing this amazing area with them.
This is a unique property. It is completely self-contained, though it is attached to our home. It has its own attached two car garage, two bedrooms and two full baths. It is the only house on the road, so there is lots of privacy. At the top of the road is Hawthorne Winery where you can wander up to and enjoy great wine and company. The property is located five miles out of town, down beautiful Peninsula Drive which skirts the side of the bay on Old Mission Peninsula.
It is a fantastic place to relax after a long day of exploring all the wonderful places in the area. Old Mission Peninsula has over eight wineries, several restaurants and lots of cherry and apple orchards and vineyards. But so close to town! Only a ten minute drive to downtown Traverse City!
