The location was great for all we wanted to see. Took an uber to a few locations, but mostly walked to sites (including the WWII museum). The house was comfortable. The street and club music is exciting and very loud. Wear decent earplugs if you want to sleep before 3 am! Had a great time!
A former history teacher told us "Frenchmen Street is like if Bourbon Street grew up and got a job." This 1800's era home, with great character, a cool balcony, and renovated bathrooms, is right in the heart of the Frenchmen scene. You can stumble out one block in either direction and hit a half dozen legit jazz clubs with quality musicians. Great food is plentiful and we really enjoyed the nightly art market. The home is also walkable to the water, museums, and more touristy stops if you want. If you crave a quiet getaway, this ISN'T it. As advertised, it's loud and vibrant at night. (3am plus on weekends) Just what we were looking for.
We are five older friends who stayed for four nights and had a wonderful time. The home was spacious, clean and comfortable. We all loved the French Quarter, and Frenchman St. Just be aware that this is not a place for children. This is a party area. There was very loud music from a street band and a dance club across the street until late at night. That being said, there were a couple of venues (especially Bamboulas - a block away) that we thoroughly enjoyed.
You can't get anymore "in the thick of things" than to stay here. Just a step outside and you are walking distance to most everything! Comfy beds, a very attentive host and plenty of space to just relax make it such a great spot. The balcony is a bonus, where you get to people-watch to your heart's content. I'd recommend to anyone wanting a real NOLA experience.
The house is great, layout is really nice and comfortable. We had a great time. Communication with the host was quick and easy, we would definitely stay here again!
Be prepared to stay up late and sleep in to enjoy this spot as the locals! Great food in the neighborhood and within walking distance to the tourist area of the French Quarter. The house is spacious and thereâs plenty of room to hang out as a family. Great host!
A sister trip to New Orleans for my 65th birthday was a total blast! The food, the music, the hospitality- none disappointed. Our host was very responsive any time we had a question. The house location was in the middle of everything; so walking distance to so many key locations.
Location location location! We had the best time ever at Kent's house. Everything you need for a New Orleans stay. One of the most accommodating hosts I've ever had! We will be back.
Roomy, comfortable house near Frenchman. Responsive host. Check in was easy. Be aware that music from clubs can be loud. We were able to watch the parades from the balcony.
This house is perfect location to so many restaurants, bars, shops. Everything you need in walking distance. It is right across the street from a dance club, so if loud music isnât your thing, you may want a different house. We had 7 adults that comfortably stayed. The house is beautiful and roomy.
Lets start with Ken, he was amazing, he was super helpful and went above and beyond for us.
As all the reviews say, this house is in the heart of Frenchman street. There is an abundance of live music outside your door.
The property is just like in the pictures and was perfect for our group of 7.
We liked being close to walk everywhere, 15 min walk pretty much anywhere.
We would stay here again for sure.
We had an amazing stay, and the house was absolutely perfect for our group of 8 adults. Everything we needed or wanted was steps from our door! The house was clean and safe, with all of the character you would expect from a historic home in a historic city.
A highlight of our trip was a bicycle cocktail tour with Confederacy of Cruisers, who are located right around the corner from the house.
We also loved being able to hang on the front porch and take in all of the music and energy that this awesome neighborhood had to offer.
We will definitely stay here again!
Communication with our host was excellent! One of my guest arrived early and was allowed access to the house. Very helpful. Fun, classic decor, great bathrooms and bedrooms. The first floor full bath is located in between the kitchen and first floor bedroom to be clear. Very comfortable layout for big groups. The bathroom upstairs was great! Huge shower! And the half bath downstairs was a plus!! We loved hanging around the kitchen table chatting, and laughing! We had a couple minor maintenance issues upon arrival but they were taken care of in a timely fashion. Not a problem. Great hosts.Lively, location close to lots of restaurants and walkable to all!!! It wasnât without the normal homeless people that all large cities have. In particular just across the street in front of the night club, a small group of peopleâŠ.a bit uncomfortable with a few fights and drug use. By no means a deal breaker nor the fault of anyone. They were asked to move by the night club management. As in other reviews, it is loud at night but didnât bother us. Bring earplugs or white nose machines and youâll be fine!Overall a great home, great location and classic decor. Wonderful hosts. I recommend this property!! We had a blast.
The location was a prime location. It is in the heart of Frenchman St. As other reviews stated, it does get very loud on Friday and Saturday. However, that is expected with such a prime location.
Kent was great to work with. We had some changes in our plans, but fortunately things worked out with availability, and Kent was extremely accommodating. I have stayed at other spots in the Quarter, but if you love music outside of the Bourbon St cover bands, then this is your spot. I'm looking forward to future visits to this home when cooler temperatures arrive!
First the minute but important detractions. It can be very loud at night, you are basically on Frenchman street and the fabulous music plays well into the night. The first floor back bedroom is the best for the quietest sleep followed by the back two upstairs bedrooms.
Bring earplugs! Secondly very occasionally there are "visitors" that hang out on the front porch. I never had a problem asking them to move aling, most left on their own when you approached the house. Other than that the place is spectacular!! Every room had a super comfortable bed withits own media monitor. The two full baths were huge and we'll appointed. Plenty of linens and towels. The kitchen had everything we needed except wine glasses. We left four for the next guests. The back patio needs a little attention but we didn't end using it. We hung out on the amazing balcony on the second floor. The location is fantastic. You are close a number of great music venues. There are great eateries close by too. Adolphos is just around the corner and highly recommended. The quarter is two blocks away. We would definitely come back to this house. Oh and lastly our hosts were very responsive to all our inquiries. I would suggest a guest book with handy info like the internet password, location of the second set of keys etc.
TOO LOUD! Even for experienced travellers to NOLA.
The house itself is well set up for 8 people to stay - comfortable beds, adequate furnishings, beautiful new bathroom upstairs easily shared by the three bedrooms. The manager was easy to communicate with. HOWEVER, there is no designated parking spot. You can park on the street overnight but have to move the car every two hours during the day or face a $75 fine.
The house's front porch was a gathering spot every night for random people who thought it was ok to be there and party - even with music blaring at 5:00am! The music from Frenchmen Street is excessive and doesn't stop until about 3:30 - and I'm talking jazz from clubs, the brass band on the corner (all fantastic but not to sleep to) and the club across the street. Then garbage and delivery trucks arrive starting at 6:00. If you are a light sleeper, this will be a huge problem. As with any large city, you will have to contend with the homeless and drug addled.
You are in the very middle of all the clubs and restaurants on Frenchman St, and a short walk into the French Quarter. But the noise was incessant and some porch dwellers were cause for concern. This is our 15th year visiting New Orleans and have stayed in many areas. This was just too loud for us.
P.S. We still couldn't be sure if the house shaking was from the large trucks rumbling by or the spirits enjoying a good prank!
This was a wonderful property, and within walking distance to most of the things we wanted to go to. I loved that it had its own parking space as well (although at one point, someone did come along and take it, but Jose called the tow company right away). It was air conditioned to the perfect temperature and accommodated all 6 of us adults quite well! Beds were comfy, too. It was very noisy at night, but we knew that going into it, so were prepared for that. We loved people watching from the front porch and balcony - very entertaining! I highly recommend this stay for your trip to New Orleans!
Had a great time at this property. We did not spend that much time inside due to it being a great location in the heart of the French Quarter. We were able to hang out late and easily walk back when needed. The host was very welcoming and invested in our stay. Would highly recommend if you plan on partying on Bourbon St. or the French Quarter!
Lived in New Orleans all my life. Former Councilman for the City of Kenner, local business man and my hobbies are Fishing,Fishing and Fishing. I believe in giving a great value in choosing 2105 Chartres, let me prove it.
This House is the perfect stay if you're coming to New Orleans for the Jazz and night life. This million dollar Estate is in the heart of the Marigny -Triangle .This historical district is all part of the French Quarter but this is a little special in that it's where the locals go and truly find fine jazz and urban music that people come to New Orleans to listen to. The previous listing was #1038747 with over 30 5-Star Reviews in less than a year. It's an amazing stay, what are you waiting for.
No need for UBER or LYFT .You right in the heart of it all. Spacious home is the best value , Let us prove it. It's a walk and see adventure to all of Frenchmen and the French Quarter . Centrally located to all the Festivals.
