The property could use some TLC. The host was very nice. The property itself had some damage to it. Steps to the basement are very steep and railing does not go to the top of steps. The road getting to the property is very steep and you really need a four wheel drive to safely access driveway. Can not comment on pool(never used it). One large window in the front was boarded up....maybe a bear busted it,IDK? Bathrooms are adequate but a little small downstairs. Furniture is dated and very basic. Kitchen has older appliances. I would say this property has more of a camp feeling then a home feeling to it. It is clean and the host was polite.
This was our first family trip to Tennessee and this wonderful property made the trip. After every daily adventure we were able to come back to this comfy cabin to make dinner, play cards or watch a movie. Highly recommend
We had a wonderful time. The pictures were accurate even though I didnât understand why a couch or tv was not on the main floor. We had babies with us and came prepared with baby gates. We also had a five year old. The upstairs was not suitable for babies so we couldnât use the couch or tv in the loft. We had to sit in the two chairs and the dining table. To watch tv we had to go downstairs to the bedroom. The stairs leading to the downstairs was also not safe being completely open on one side which looks nice but is not safe. Luckily all children were safe but not for lack of trying. We really did have a good time we just had to adjust a little for babies.
We came from Texas was such an amazing experience beautiful view. We loved the nature and seeing bears was definitely something different. We had a great time. Timber land pool was our favorite then the little piece of heaven pool. Other thing was the beds was a little uncomfortable. But other than that it was incredible! Great response when we had questions and everything else was so easy. We are already planning our trip back for next year. Thank you.
We appreciated all that this cabin had to offer. Its location was conveniently near the activities we wished to engage in, yet sufficiently distant to provide a stunning view of the mountains, allowing for a peaceful retreat.
The cabin is nice and really rustic. The only issue we had, which wasn't really a problem is that . The climate control(hvac) didn't blend well between floors. Upstairs was really warm and downstairs was kinda cold. We just grabbed a few extra blankets for the ones downstairs.
We loved it. From the beginning when i booked this cabin it was easy. I didnât half to worry about being there at a certain time to pick up key. There was plenty of space nice an clean. I would definitely book again.
Our stay was great⊠the neighbors can be a little loud but otherwise itâs a nice place. The one lamp didnât work and the one shower dripped, but otherwise it was clean and comfortable.
Nice area. Cabin was not comfortable at all. No furniture on main level except a glider and 2 hard back chairs. Stairs are narrow and are dangerous for an elderly guest. Beds were terrible and broken down bad. No chairs on patio to enjoy views. Only a wood picnic table. We left 2 days early because we were very uncomfortable in cabin. If youâre not looking for any days of rest and relaxation this may work for you. I think an investment in new bedding, some living room furniture on main level and chairs for the deck would be a great improvement to this property.
Great stay. The cabin was very rustic in a great location. Loved that it was close to the Smokey Mountsins, but not in the heart of Gaitlinburg with all the crowds. Did need to make sure we bough some of our own supplies of paper towels, shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent and garbage bags.
Overall, great stay! Biggest issues with the house were the lack of air distribution (loft upstairs was hot and basement was cold, only 1 thermostat on main floor) and my kids found the beds to be uncomfortable. We set the thermostat cold to try to cool off the upstairs but it just doesn't circulate.
Also, the road up to the house is dangerous! The host did give us a heads up for check-in but we had no idea till we got there.
The positives: The cabin is wonderfully located in a safe resort/golfing community. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Several convenance/grocery stores nearby. The views from the cabin are amazing! Very quiet place, had everything we needed (with a few exceptions). The negatives: None of the bedrooms are located on the main level. The stairs are VERY narrow and somewhat dangerous to climb. People with mobility issues will have difficulty. The cabin was clean, for the most part. There was a fair amount of dust and dirt on the exposed beans as well as the ceiling fans and air ducts. Those with breathing issues might have problems. The bed lines were clean but VERY old and well used with brown stains on them. On our second day we discovered a musty/dirty water smell on the ground level where two of the three bedrooms are (and we realized then why the cabin came with air purifiers down there). The smell wasn't too extreme that we had issues with it, it just smelled a little funky. Several of the bedroom lamps didn't work and could use replacing. Also, on the porch the picnic table was very old and difficult to sit at without getting splinters and the two plastic chairs provided were so old that they broke and we couldn't use them. All in all, we had a nice time at the cabin. If you're looking for a well decorated retreat, this place isn't for you, but if you want a reasonably priced place to stay while you go out and enjoy the surrounding area, then this place is perfect.
Had a wonderful time exploring the area. The view was beautiful and we got to see three bears while we were there. The cabin was clean and comfortable. I was a little nervous when we came home in the evenings that weâd meet up with a bear on the balcony in the dark, but fortunately that never happened! Enjoyed hiking in the Smokey Mountain National Park, and exploring Gatlinburg and Pigeon ForgeâŠall within a short driving distance.
This property was build by my father and his cousin in 1979. All timber was harvested locally and built with their own hands. Our family spent summers and holiday here while growing up and have so many wonderful memories that were made here. Now we just want to give others a chance to enjoy our little cabin and make their own memories.
The location is quiet but not too far away from all the action. Our favorite thing is sitting on the back deck and looking across the hollow at ridges of the National Park with a good cup of coffee.
