Excellent place to stay. Close to the AF Academy, stores and restaurants. Geo & Heidi were great hosts. The home is in excellent condition and well maintained. Lots of extras, grill, laundry facilities, cooler for packing water and lunches, sunscreen and many kitchen items. Like a home away from home!
What a beautiful home! So relaxing to come back to after a day of sight seeing/hiking. Host couple is so very accommodating, it's truly a home away from home. We loved the views from the upper back deck and the Italian leather furniture during movies at night. We would highly recommend this property !
A perfect home for our daughter's USAFA graduation!
What a great week staying at Briargate! The home was perfect for our family and friends to enjoy our daughter's USAFA graduation week! It was spacious, clean, perfectly equipped, and had a pleasant atmosphere. The owners were respectful yet helpful in guiding and accommodating us. The location was less than 10 minutes from the academy and in close proximity to many stores, restaurants, and services. We strongly recommend Briargate for any guests looking for a great Colorado Springs experience.
2520 Lumberjack Dr. has spoiled us! The Roberts provided everything we could possibly need in a rental. We used to think that Hampton Inn was the best place to stay. Then, we began renting cabins in the Smokey Mountains and thought they were great. But, this property out did all of that. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. We were very comfortable and had a relaxing time. If we are back in this area again we will try to rent this property.
P.S. The view of Pike's Peak from the front and the view of the AF Academy Chapel in the distance from the back balcony were breath taking!
Geo and Heidi moved to the north end of Colorado Springs late 2014, having lived in England 38 years where our sons, their wives and five grandkids ( 15- 23) remain. We wanted to be nearer our aging parents (California and Kansas) as well as other family and friends in America, so Colorado seemed a sensible strategic 'mid-way' compromise. Geo grew up in Nebraska, Heidi, California.
In addition to 'loving the big blue-sky' climate, we were attracted to this 'north end of town' by the pleasant , friendly neighborhood, the awesome Pikes Peak and Rampart Range majesty, the proximity of USAF Academy and the Eisenhower Golf Course (Geo is a Class of 1968 Graduate and we are both keen golfers!), New Life Church (our 'church home') and easy access to I-25. It is great to have a 'country-side' location as well as access to major roads and amenities, whatever the weather.
We searched for months through many hundreds of properties on-line and 'in person' via our incredible local realtor, Nancy Rusinak, who led us to our Ranch-style home, which for us was 'delight at first sight,' and it remains even more so now that we have happily settled in the Creekside 'South' neighborhood.
Our personal house guests often remark how peaceful, spacious and comfortable our home is and we firmly believe our HomeAway / VRBO 'house guests' will also enjoy their stay here as much as we will enjoy having them share in the cozy comfort.
