Weekend away

Went to unwind relax , play a few games and read a book or two. The fireplace was amazing .Looking forward to staying there again .

Just ok

House was nice, but needs some minor maintenance. (Cleaners need to dust ceiling fans)Community beach was closed, due to poor water quality. Didnt know I had to take my own chairs to pool, none were provided @ house. I wouldn't stay there again

Lovely cottage

Nice place. Cleaning wasn’t good but manager was very attentive and apologetic. Could update the living room furniture as the springs are worn out. Great location and outside is beautiful. Had around 12 deer in the yard last night.

Perfect weekend getaway!

My friends and I stayed here for a birthday party due to covid shutting everything down, and it exceeded our expectations. Perfect spot with tons of activities and food around. We couldn’t get the fireplace to work but Susan offered to drive all the way to come and fix it! It was a nice weekend so the fireplace wasn’t needed at all, but it was still a very nice gesture. Overall, a perfect place to stay for a group of 6.

Birthday Weekend Family Getaway

Stayed at the cottage with my family for a socially distant 21st birthday getaway for my son. Very beautiful and cozy! Throughout the house, everything was neat, organized, and clean. We brought already prepared food with us but had I had to cook a small, separate meal for my husband due to his allergies. Everything I needed was in that kitchen which made it feel like home. It is also important for me to note that my son has Autism. He was very comfortable there and loved spending his birthday weekend at "the Birthday House"! Susan was easy to reach and very responsive. She made the process very simple from start to finish. I highly recommend!

Awesome little cottage

I would absolutely recommend this property. Its the perfect size, everything you need for a weekend getaway is already there. It was clean, and the backyard view was beautiful. We really enjoyed watching the deer walk through the yard. It was easy to find and the owner made the whole process very easy.

Great location

My friends and I wanted a relaxing getaway with a beautiful scenery, a quiet area and having a responsive property manager was the best. Any issues she responded right away. This place gave us exactly what we needed. Everyone was nice wherever we went. We would come back here every time we visit.

Amazing and would stay again!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying here! The cottage was bigger than expected and very cute. It was also nice that the two lower level bedrooms lead straight to the deck. The outdoor lights were beautiful at night and the fire pit was easy to set up. Everything was clean and organized! We also were in love with the fireplace on cold nights. One thing I would say could use improvement are the couches. They were a little tough to sit on because you sunk in too far as if there wasn’t anymore support, but otherwise no issues! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We stayed MLK to ski. Cozy cottage, plenty of cookware, spices, etc. Very clean. Owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Good location. Would stay again.

Birthday weekend getaway

My girlfriend and I made a last minute decision to go away for the weekend some place that was covered safe and we wouldn't necessarily have to leave the location for food or drink. It was a short 75 minute drive from my home to the cottage. Susan was extremely responsive and helpful before enduring the stay. We made extensive Use of the gas fireplace and outside grill. We were able to use the fire pit only one night but It worked fine using a handheld lighter provided. One thing I did not notice when I booked the cottage was the fact that it has a full kitchen except there is no oven. I have brought some frozen pizzas that I thought about trying to cook on the grill but instead I took a ride down to the local meat store only a couple miles away and got some beautiful cuts of steak and chicken. Due to Covid 19, most of the local shops were closed but because we are only there for a couple days, it really did not matter. We will look forward to coming back in the spring or summer time post Coverd 19 to take full advantage of all the surrounding amenities and scenery.

Great place to relax

The home was just as described. Loved the gas fireplace! The bed was comfortable enough. Kitchen had what we needed, but the pots and pans were pretty rough. Would love to stay in the summer and enjoy the deck.

The house was very much to our liking. It was clean, well stocked with amenities, and much bigger than originally thought. Location is great. Highly recommend it.

Cozy, comfortable home in peaceful area

The property was lovely. The house was as advertised, actually felt bigger than pictures made it look, and had many thoughtful and convenient touches (like portable fans, throws on backs of couches, food and drinks in kitchen for our use). We appreciated that it is not cluttered with lots of fussy decorative or personal items, like some places we have stayed. The bed was very comfortable and the two window A/C units did a good job of cooling the place down (it was much too warm upon arrival). We didn't cook but the kitchen seemed well-stocked and there is now a nice block of good knives. Note there is no oven but that didn't affect us. Owner was very responsive to our texts and questions before and after arrival. Our only less-than-wonderful comment is that the day of our arrival the private association beach and waterfront were closed until further notice due to E. coli contamination. This is not the owner's fault nor anything she has control over! But it should be noted; we were hoping to swim and kayak and that was out. We learned that all the lakes in the area are man-made and upon driving to check them out decided not to use them. The private pool/clubhouse area was teeming with children; if you are traveling with kids they will find plenty of playmates but for couples like us with grown children that was a bit much. We did spend a fun day in nearby Jim Thorpe; we enjoyed the Lehigh Valley Scenic Railway and the Asa Packer Mansion tour, and we also had a great lunch at Marion Hose in a former firehouse. But the area of the house itself doesn't have much to do unless you are into adventure-type stuff: go-karts, paintball, whitewater rafting, skiing and the like. We'd like to return to do some of the bike trail when it's not so hot out. The cottage is a great place to relax and unwind; very peaceful, deer strolling all over the place, nice decks front and back. If you're looking for a quiet getaway this is a good place for it.

Cottage is cozy and has a very homey feel to it

My friends and I had an unforgettable weekend at Susan's cottage. We really enjoyed all of spaces in this cottage, especially the indoor and outdoor gas fireplaces. The cottage was very clean when we arrived, the beds were comfortable, and linens were clean. This cottage was 15-20 minute drive from Jack Frost and Big Boulder which was really nice for us. Susan was super responsive throughout our entire booking process and stay at her home. She's more than happy to answer any and all questions. She also leaves explicit instructions on what to do in all cases during the stay. We felt very comfortable and welcomed by her. We loved the cottage, but had one issue during our stay. My friends and I cooked breakfast and dinner during our stay. Despite the cooking wares, plates, utensils, and cups she provides, we wish there would have been a chefs knife available to us. This was the only thing we felt was missing because it made chopping up ingredients a bit difficult(there were other types of knives available though, so we made due). If you don't plan on cooking during your stay then this shouldn't be an issue for you. Thank you Susan for being such a stellar host! We cant wait to return next winter to stay at your cottage again.

Would definitely rent same property again.

Clean,cozy and comfortable. Almost every touch and need was provided. Owner very responsive. There is no oven in the house, but we made it work. Just be prepared and plan accordingly as we were taken by surprise. The dishes/plates were limited as well as cutting knives but again we made it work. Would definitely rent again!
