Alternatively, explore the woodland trails at the 150-acre Ogden Water Country Park (9 miles). In the evening, come home to your cottage to enjoy a relaxing dip in the unique outdoor bath.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a spacious hallway leading to the stylish kitchen to your right, as well as a welcoming reception room which features a games console to your left. Make your way to the farmhouse-style open-plan lounge/dining area, which boasts characterful exposed beams, a charming Jack and Jill wood burner and a multi-purpose pool, air hockey and a table tennis games table. When it’s time to eat, head back to the sleek kitchen to cook up a feast, and then gather everyone together to eat at the large dining table. After dinner, challenge your loved ones to a game of pool, or take a seat by the wood burner to watch your favourite movie. At the end of the day, head upstairs and you’ll find five thoughtfully-decorated bedrooms – two super-king, two kings (one of which is en-suite) and a twin.
