Pull on your hiking boots and step straight out to explore 230-acre Brisley Common, starting 150 metres away. Follow trails of varying length through the countryside, then return to the village pub for a bite to eat and a pint of local ale. Keen anglers might like to spend time at Bilney Lakes (1.5 miles), while wildlife enthusiasts will wish to visit the nature reserve at Pensthorpe (9.5 miles). Venture 16.5 miles to Wells-next-the-Sea to spend time on the spectacular North Norfolk coast or 18 miles for a day trip to Holkham, with its stately home, parkland and picturesque beach. The Royal Sandringham Estate (21 miles), is also worth visiting.


Pause to admire your scenic surroundings before climbing four steps up from your private garden to enter the green shepherd’s hut, which has full electricity, underfloor heating and plug and USB sockets. Make your way in via the glass French doors to find yourselves in cleverly arranged accommodation that has been designed to offer you a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. Wander inside to find an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom where you and your loved one can unwind between your many trips out. Position the leather armchairs by the open doors so you can absorb the verdant views. Prepare light meals and snacks in the kitchenette, then dine together inside or out. As the sun goes down over the fields, treat yourself to a steaming hot shower in the en-suite shower room before resting your head on the plump pillows in your king-size bed. Guests have access to a washing machine by arrangement with the owner.


Lose yourselves in the fabulous views from your secluded, lawned garden as well as from inside the hut. Bask in the Norfolk sunshine under the great, open East Anglian sky. Indulge in a little stargazing beside a crackling firepit. Private parking for one car.
