À propos de cet hébergement
*Newly renovated* Cosy Farm Cottage (3 bed, 3 bath)
A beautiful, newly refurbished 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom Grade II listed stone cottage in the peaceful village of Newnham, Northamptonshire.
Blending character with luxury, it features a full Aga, Perrin & Rowe bathrooms throughout and a cosy wood-burning stove. Surrounded by tranquil fields, with a private garden and secure electric gate access, it’s the perfect countryside escape for a relaxing weekend or longer stay. Child (and dog!) friendly, baby equipment can be supplied upon request.
THE PROPERTY
The property is accessed via a private driveway (shared with one other house) through electric gates, with ample off-road parking for up to three cars. A beautifully maintained gated front garden leads to the entrance, opening into a light and airy hallway with natural sandstone flooring.
To the left, the well-appointed kitchen features a full-size Aga (half gas, half electric) with both electric and traditional hobs. Fully equipped for your stay, it includes a Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother, microwave, toaster, kettle, and all essential cookware. A charming scrub-top wooden dining table comfortably seats six.
To the rear of the property, the utility room offers a washer, tumble dryer, and a brand-new American-style fridge. Dog bed and supplies can be provided on request. The back door opens onto a patio with a BBQ and outdoor dining area for six. The private garden wraps around the house, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind.
The living room features solid oak flooring, comfortable Tetrad sofas, a large smart TV, and superfast full-fibre WiFi throughout. Guests can also enjoy a wide selection of books and games.
Upstairs, there are three beautifully presented bedrooms, each with its own en-suite:
Bedroom 1 (Master): King-size bed, built-in wardrobe, antique dressing table, and a window seat overlooking the fields. En-suite shower room with marble tiles and Perrin & Rowe fittings.
Bedroom 2: Double bed, built-in wardrobe, antique chest of drawers, and a window seat with views to the front. Spacious en-suite shower room with marble tiles and Perrin & Rowe fittings.
Bedroom 3: Flexible day bed that can be arranged as one single, or two (snug!) singles or a super-king (on request), ideal for children or additional guests. En-suite bathroom with freestanding bathtub, Perrin & Rowe fittings, and solid oak flooring.
THE AREA
Set in the heart of rolling Northamptonshire countryside, the cottage is perfectly placed for exploring one of the county’s most quietly beautiful and unspoilt areas. A network of public footpaths begins directly from the front door, offering miles of scenic walks through open farmland, ancient woodland, and neighbouring villages — ideal for morning strolls, longer hikes, or relaxed dog walks.
Just a short drive away lies Everdon Stubbs, a rare ancient woodland and one of the area’s best-kept secrets. Once a historic hunting ground, it is now a protected nature reserve, particularly famous for its breathtaking bluebell displays in spring, when the entire woodland floor turns into a vivid carpet of colour.
A little further afield, Badby Woods offers equally spectacular walking, widely regarded as one of the finest places in Northamptonshire to experience bluebell season at its peak. Together, these woodlands create some of the most memorable countryside walking in the region.
For food and drink, the nearby village pub, The Plough at Everdon, is a true destination in its own right. Recently revitalised, it offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience, with a strong focus on seasonal, locally sourced produce — including locally reared meats and house-made bread. Guests can enjoy anything from a casual lunch or post-walk pint to an exceptional evening meal or tasting menu, paired with an extensive wine list of around 200 bottles. The pub combines the charm of a traditional country inn — complete with open fires and a welcoming atmosphere — with genuinely high-quality, modern British cooking, and is well worth booking in advance.
For additional options, the surrounding villages and market towns (including Daventry and Towcester) offer a variety of cafés, pubs, and independent shops, while the wider area is known for its farm shops and local produce.
The cottage is also ideally located for Silverstone Circuit (25 minute drive) making it a perfect base for race weekends, corporate events, and motorsport enthusiasts — while still offering a peaceful retreat away from the crowds at the end of the day.
For those looking to unwind, Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa is the nearest luxury spa, set within a stunning historic country house just 3 miles away. It offers a full range of treatments, a tranquil spa with pool and thermal facilities, as well as afternoon tea and fine dining for a truly indulgent day out.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Access is to the entire property, although we do not allow use of the attic, cellar or outbuildings - all of which are clearly marked as private.
We will be available to help both on the phone or in person throughout your stay.
We kindly ask that NO PARTIES or events are held at the property. Additional visitors are welcome with prior approval, however the maximum number of overnight adult guests is strictly limited to six.
We are dog-friendly and happy to welcome one or two well-behaved dogs by prior arrangement. As the cottage is surrounded by working farmland, we ask that dogs are kept under close control at all times when outside, particularly on the surrounding footpaths, to ensure the safety of local livestock.
