Our hosts for this charming little studio were delightful. The garden is a beautiful spot to sit. The 17th century “palace” has been in the host’s family for a century.All of their advice on restaurants and coffee were spot on, provided in a typed list.The location was great for us- not too crowded or noisy, but very close to great places to eat, drink and shop, off the beaten path places like Dante’s home. It’s 15 minutes walking distance to the major cultural sites. And the bed is comfortable!

The apartment was the perfect place to stay for our honeymoon - the courtyard is so beautiful and Stefano and Antonella were such kind and helpful hosts! Stefano gave us amazing restaurant and activity recommendations.

We had such a wonderful stay in Florence! The apartment was absolutely fantastic—a beautiful, comfortable studio in an ideal location for exploring the city. Having access to the gorgeous courtyard garden was an especially lovely bonus and made the property feel like a little oasis in the heart of Florence.What really made our experience special, though, was the hospitality. Our host went above and beyond, taking the time to personally welcome us, show us around, and share thoughtful local recommendations for restaurants and things to do. It was such a warm, personal touch and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our time in Florence and would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the city. Thank you for such a memorable stay!

We loved our stay at the Sphinx of the Secret Garden. The studio is small but well-equipped (kitchen sink, mini fridge, dishes and glasses, etc.) and comfortable. The complimentary bottle of champagne and fresh fruit waiting for us at check in was a beautiful touch. What makes the apartment truly special is its setting. Stepping off a busy Florence street into the apartment and secluded garden, with its Renaissance portico, remarkable sphinx sculpture, and medieval tower, felt like discovering a hidden piece of the city's history. Some of the masonry (which from our research is likely from the original 13th century tower) has been left exposed inside the studio affording a sense of history even while inside what is otherwise a modern apartment. The studio opens directly onto a courtyard that only the studio occupants can enter, making the experience more special. The location is excellent for exploring Florence on foot, yet it feels removed from the crowds once inside. The A/C is the coldest I’ve ever experienced in Europe by far! Which in itself is amazing since it can get quite hot in Florence even in the shoulder season which is when we were there. We loved our stay there and would definitely book again.

Perfect Location for a stay in Florence.

Perfect location! The apartment was so lovely and of course the garden was divine! I would stay again, and the owners are awesome. They were very helpful with everything from how to get there to restaurant suggestions.

The room was very centralized in the city, very close walking distance to many of the historical sites and shopping. A slight problem at first but the host took care of it immediately for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend it.

We were a little surprised by your review, but perhaps the reason is that you needed a two-room apartment and not a studio apartment like ours, because you needed more space for your work. The studio, we believe, has everything people need for a perfect holiday and also has the unique feature in the historic center of Florence of having exclusive access to a private garden. Last but not least, in the Sphinx we have hosted almost exclusively couples of people, of all ages. With sincere friendship :) Antonella and Stefano
