Rockfish Farmhouse - Belle maison dans la vallée de la roche

The Rockfish Farmhouse est une destination pittoresque dans la vallée des sébastes du comté de Nelson. La maison a été construite au début des années 1900 et nous avons essayé de conserver le charme de la ferme et avons complètement rénové toute la maison. Très proche de Wintergreen, des vignobles, des brasseries, et la route américaine 76, et Skyline drive. Cette maison est sur sa propre propriété avec des veaux super mignon dans les pâturages derrière la maison.

Spring stay

We stayed at this property in the beginning of May! The location is perfect. There are so many wineries and breweries on the same road as this rental. The owners were very easy to communicate with and very friendly! Would definitely stay again

Feels like home when you walk in. Perfect location for us. Just under 90 minutes from home. 20 minutes to Wintergreen. Perfect for what we were looking for.

Great farmhouse!

My girlfriends and I stayed in the farmhouse and it was more than amazing. We loved sitting on the back porch with our morning coffee taking in the beautiful Mountain view and the cows! The house is spotless and has everything you need. Very close to nearby wineries!

Beautiful spot, great views, perfect location

This property is awesome! Right away we fell in love with the views from the back deck and the beautiful kitchen. The place was super clean and the hosts were very helpful throughout the duration of the trip. A great location if you are looking for a quick getaway to the mountains or winery trip! Everything we hoped for and more!

We took our 4 sons for a ski trip at Wintergreen Resort, and stayed at Sarah and Bryan’s amazingly modernized Farm House. We had an amazing time, and had everything we needed for accommodations. We’ll be back.

UVA Grad Trip

We were very impressed with the house! It was very clean, fresh and plenty of room. The views were amazing, we enjoyed the fire pit and communication with Sarah was easy. It was a little far of a drive (30 minutes) from UVA but we took advantage of all the wineries, breweries and hiking in the Afton area that made it worth it! We totally enjoyed our stay!!

Bachelorette Weekend

A group of 8 of us stayed here for a bachelorette weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Everyone had a comfortable stay, plenty of room for gathering and the backyard was so beautiful! It is prime location to many local wineries and breweries making for easy transportation. Our group was already talking about coming back! Thanks for a great weekend!

Great House, Beautiful Views

We had a wonderful stay. The house is more than it's description. The house is spotless and well stocked with all that you need. The views are incredible and the fire pit is amazing. We enjoyed the fire pit even though the temps were in the low 30's. The house is close to wineries and breweries. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone looking in this area.

Cutest Farmhouse - great owners

I couldn't say enough positive things about our stay. The farmhouse was just adorable. Sarah (the owner) checked on us arriving and during our stay. We had forgotten our supplies for s'mores and it was special treat to have a basket of s'mores supplies. The fire pit was lovely and we truly enjoyed everything about the house. Thank you and we'll be back!

Girlfriends weekend away

Charming, comfortable home that was well appointed and in a wonderful location. Home features, comfortable bedding, toiletries provided, fully stocked kitchen, fire pit and firewood. Beautiful view of the mountains and within a short distance of wineries, breweries and hiking. We were a group of 5 friends having a girls weekend, but all want to come back with our families. Sarah, the host was great communicating with us quickly. Lovely home!

What a lovely place!

This house was perfect for our stay. It’s a nice mixture of an early 20th century farmhouse with many modern amenities and flourishes. The hosts have it set-up perfectly with guest comfort in mind, as well as ease of use. The house is exactly as described and shown in the photos; if anything, it’s even nicer than I was expecting. The view of the mountains is beautiful and can be enjoyed from well-built deck or the Adirondacks around the new and clean firepit. The hosts were wonderful. I have zero negative feedback with this rental. Highly, highly recommended!

Cute, clean, delightful country house

We loved staying at the Rockfish Farmhouse. It was incredibly clean upon arriving, charming, up-to-date, and comfortable. The kitchen was well-supplied, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. The yard, especially, the backyard, was great for our three young kids. We enjoyed using the fire pit to make s'mores. The house's driveway is just off a busy road, which did not have any real impact on our stay but is worth noting. Beautiful views of the mountains from the backyard. Easy hiking trails and fun breweries and wineries are just a short drive away. Would highly recommend for families -- we'd certainly return!

Excellent hosts, excellent view.

We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The house is lovely and was spotless. Check-in/out were super easy and the hosts are so friendly and easy to reach. We travelled with 2 children under 5 and when the predictable happened (toddler broke a glass, oops!), Sarah and Bryan were so understanding. This area has lots to do and despite in climate weather on and off, we were never bored. The view out the back is even better than in the pictures. There is a window over the kitchen sink, so doing dishes is very relaxing and pleasurable, actually! Especially enjoyed the fire pit and cozy living room. We will be back!

My husband and I moved to Nelson County in 2006 after living in the UK for 4 years. We love this area and chose it as a place to raise our family. I am originally from Fuquay-Varina, NC and my husband Haddonfield, NJ.

We just loved the Farmhouse and were so excited when it was finally listed to purchase. It has been so much fun to renovate and fix up for your enjoyment.
