Our family had the best time. There was enough room for everyone and the house was stocked with all the basic necessities and then some! Such a gorgeous house that was clean and comfortable.
We had a great time! Everything was well stocked, clean and plenty of space for everyone. Michelle was great to work with.Would definitely recommend if you have a large family and just want to unwind and enjoy the lake.
We were a family of 12. The house was clean, well furnished, host responsive and supplied with all the amenities one would need. The home is set on a steep hill and there are many steps to the water/dock/swim area. There were paddle boards and kayaks. Pool table and video game the teenagers enjoyed. We rented a pantoon boat from the local marina we kept at the house during our stay. I would recommend this home and stay again.
We had a wonderful time in this spacious home on the lake. We appreciate how stocked the kitchen was with supplies. This made family meals away in the mountains easy to prepare and spend quality time. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
Great property as presented. House was clean and property owner was very quick to respond with any questions we had. Would definitely book again for a family get away!!
Our family had such an amazing stay at Michelle's lake home. The set up is absolutely perfect for extended families or a couple of families traveling together. The two master suites worked perfect and there was ample space for all the kids. We found an added bonus with the kids toys, pool table and arcade game in the lower rec room. The kitchen had everything you need to prep meals, snacks, baked goods, etc. We are looking forward to coming back again this summer.
The house was perfectly sized for three families (six adults and six kids). The kitchen is stocked with everything and the basement is a perfect place to hang out. We loved kayaking and paddle boarding. We would definitely stay here again - thank you for sharing your lovely place!!
What a wonderful time! My family's spring break trip to Norris was especially enjoyable at the Big Blue Lakehouse. We loved the sunsets and enjoyed breakfast on the deck.
The kids had a lot of fun fishing off the dock. The water was still a little cool, but that didn't stop them from taking a quick plunge.
Michelle and her team were really responsive to our questions as we were planning the trip and provided us a number of really fun ideas for day trips while we were here.
House has everything you can need and more. It is HUGE!
We look forward to our next trip.
My family was lucky to find this beautiful retreat in our busy schedule and invite other families to join us. The house was large enough to accommodate multiple families with ease, while still offering cozy little touches to make us feel like we were at a tiny cabin in the woods. Surrounded by trees and the lake, we unplugged from our day to day and reconnected. It was truly good for the soul and something that will quickly become an anual tradition.
The place was well equipped, clean and beautiful! We didn't know how to work the hot tub and Michelle had someone come right out to show us! The steps were intimidating for carrying loads but we did it and it was worth it! Elderly would not be able to do it. The oldest in was group was 72. Driveway was not as scary as some reviews led you to believe. We hope to go back!
The house provided ample room for all of us. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the common areas allowed us to spread out and relax. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials and plenty of various K-cup pods. The stairs leading down to the lake were a bit long, as we already knew when we booked, but the multiple landings made them manageable. Even those who needed breaks during the climb found it doable multiple times a day. The lake was deep right of the dock and great for a quick swim and easy boat docking. Our only suggestion would be to add more chairs near the dock. We loved spending time by the water, but additional seating would enhance the experience. I would recommend bringing your own boat or renting one from one of the nearby marinas.
Although we had issues with the outdoor hot tub and indoor jacuzzi tub, the house was wonderful and the owners were very responsive and apologetic. The home was perfectly suited for a large family who needs space to get away and still has plenty of room for us all to gather together. There's truly something there for people of all ages. With a fully stocked kitchen and games galore, we needed nothing. The driveway was a little intimidating, but once we got settled in, there was no reason to leave. Thanks for hosting our first Christmas together!
The Big Blue House on the Lake was PERFECT for our large family. We all spread out and never wanted to leave once we got there. The house was SO spacious and the beds and baths AMAZING. It was CLEAN and had everything we needed. We walked in the door, after the daunting drive up the mountain, unloaded and promptly got in vacation mode. We were all needing rest and relaxation and we GOT IT!!! Property managers quickly responded to everything we needed and our stay was the best we have ever had. THANKS!!!! Carol for the Ramers
House was outstanding. Couple major drawbacks however. Driveway is straight downhill. Used emergency brake to assist regular brakes. Going up the driveway was equally treacherous. Steps to boat dock (265 of them), need to be completely replaced. Railings as well. Son fell through one of them. Once again, the house is wonderful. Boat dock was great. Location on lake was great. Michelle the owner was great and let us check in early.
This house was the perfect size for our family of 12 ranging in ages of 9 months to 57 yo. As others have stated, the kitchen is very well stocked. The dining table was the perfect size for our group. The bottom floor was perfect for having fun in the evenings so we didnât wake up the babies. The big Christmas tree was beautiful and perfect for our holiday week. The only downsides were: the top floor had only one bathroom with a shower for 3 bedrooms to share (we made it work), there were no instructions for starting the fireplace (finally figured it out) and it stopped working after the first night - not fun being from Florida & looking forward to a fire on a cold Christmas morning. The carpets are stained and worn, which was a bit worrisome with 2 crawling babies. The shower curtain linings were not clean and we had to wash most items in the kitchen before use as they werenât very clean. Many lightbulbs were burned out throughout the home - the bottom floor master bath had only working bulbs over the mirror. Found the upstairs thermostat after 2 nights of freezing (instruction book would have been nice). To end on a positive note, we loved going down to the water where our 2 yo grandson loved âskippingâ rocks with his uncle. The climb up the many stairs was great for working off the many Christmas sweets. Like others have said, the driveway is very steep, but all of our cars navigated it fine. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and had a great family Christmas.
The pictures and description of the house and amenities were accurate. There were also many extras we found when we got there - the owners had everything we needed for our stay. The extras we appreciated: lots of bath, kitchen and towels for the lake; 3 crockpots; lots of trash containers with lock-in lids to keep the critters out; a nice variety of spices and condiments: plenty of dishes, glasses, containers for leftovers... I like not having to wash towels or dishes every use!
The house was very nice with many upgrades, the view was stunning with two different levels to enjoy the view with plenty of seating options.
Michelle was very quick to respond to any inquiry and the property manager was very helpful and accommodating!!
We had a group of 8 family and friends and we took advantage of everything offered; pool table, fire pit, hot tub, we rented a boat from Straight Creek Marina, as well as enjoyed a day hanging at the dock using all the lake toys available.
Would definitely recommend staying here and hope to stay again for a future visit.

The home is very well appointed and has everything you need for the trip. Eight of us stayed for a week and went without nothing. You can tell the owner keeps up on maintenance and takes good care of the property and everything that comes with it.
We unfortunately did not have the greatest weather during our trip and the owner even reached out and offered for us to come a different weekend. During the trip there was a significant storm and a tree came down on the property. The owners immediately reached out to make sure we are okay as they were alerted by their ring door camera. They promptly had a crew there the following morning to remove the tree and clear the driveway so we could get back out.
Absolutely loved our stay at this property. It is clean, well furnished, obviously kept up, and amazing views of the lake.
Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, set back nature of the property. Was incredibe to sit on the deck and read while drinking my coffee in the morning (coffee maker and Keurig provided!), and heading out on the lake for the afternoon. Overall the kitchen was really well stocked and plenty of books, board games, poker chips, etc. for any inside folk.
Ameneties including paddleboards and kayaks were in great shape, easy to access and use for outside folk.
Property owners are incredibly communicative and responsive. They seem to care a lot about their guests' experience. Was more than impressed by high quality bedding and toilet paper.
Great house in remote location with lots of privacy! Lots of room and amenities. Only downside is the number of steps to get down to the dock and lake.
The house worked perfect for 15 people. We had 3 families with kids ranging 9-17. The house with equipped with everything we needed for the week. The dock was nice to have as we brought jet skis and a boat. The steps were a little rough going back up, but all in all was a perfect vacay. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had, and was very responsive to handle any situations we did have during our stay.
We LOVE our lake home! It is truly our happy place. We are originally from the Omaha, NE area and relocated to Cincinnati in 2015. Norris Lake was a wonderful find for us. We spend a lot of time at the lake house making memories for our three young children and our four grown children and their families. The house brings us so much happiness, and we hope it will for you and your families as well
Who could ask for more?! We sit directly on the lake with both steps and an ATV path to the private dock. The home sits in a private community where you will find your own kind of serenity. The wildlife is endless! Coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening on one of the decks will be a highlight of your vacation. From the dock you can fish, swim or catch some rays. A short boat ride away, you will find a jumping bridge. Jimmy's place has phenomenal food and service and a GREAT staff of super friendly people if you are not interested in preparing your own meals. This house comes with everything you could want - extra towels, toiletries, paper products, pots, pans, slow cooker, blender, grill -- you name it...we probably have it!
Quiet! With easy water access to excitement. When we come here...we don't leave! Amazing lake views and mountain views from 360 degrees. Wrap around covered porch on 3 sides allows guests to enjoy nature even if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.
