Perfect location that was close to everything with a great parking spot. The artwork within the unit was superb. It was everything we hoped it would be.
Really great location just a couple blocks from the ferry. Itâs a unique place with unique charm. We also found it peaceful while being in the middle of town. We will certainly be back in the future!
The property was in a great location. It was close to everything. Slept a family of 4 adults easily. We did not bring our car to the island, and the host worked with us to keep our luggage while we biked the island waiting for access the the premises.
The suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were no doors, just curtains on the bedrooms. The bathroom was in one of the bedrooms, but we all know each other well so it worked out fine.
The location was very centralized. Every time we went to park, the designated parking was taken. The inside was very dated. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, kitchen floor tiles coming off of the floor, signs telling us not to flush toilet paper, and bubbles and moldy paint. We had difficulties with getting our extra person fee refunded.
We appreciated the spacious interior, great location, good wifi. The patio on the back was nice, even though it just looked out onto the back of a steel building with a peek at the harbor. A major downside/something to work on is cooling down the place. There were 2 dusty fans that we had to use creatively for air flow and even on a 70 degree day it got uncomfortably warm. There was also no TV and the kitchen could have used a potholder and some oil, but otherwise was very easy to use. The host didn't offer information unprompted, such as check in/out, but got back to me quickly about questions.
We stayed here two nights. The space is huge! The beds were comfortable when we first arrived we were concerned there was no a/c, but opened the windows and turned on the fans and it was great! Loved the attached patio, this is where I drank coffee and had breakfast. Location is great, everything is within walking distance!
Overall we enjoyed our stay. It's very close to many restaurants and had a nice layout. Disappointed that it was advertised as having cable tv, but there was not a tv, only the hook up. Also the refrigerator did not work and we lost some food that we brought with us. I would stay again though.
Our experience in Friday Harbor with Annie was frustrating. From the start, we received no communication or confirmation about our reservation. On the morning of our arrival, we had to contact Annie ourselves to confirm our accommodations. After we go there, Annie bombarded us with three conflicting emails throughout our stay, demanding additional payments for extra guests. Our group was below the maximum capacity of the listing, yet her charges varied wildlyâfirst 20, then 60, and then 132âin successive emails. We were not informed of the per-person charge for guests in the listing or through prior communication. Past Vrbo's we've stayed at have not had these charges, so the way these were handled felt non-transparent and unusual, especially since we never exceeded the maximum guest limit. We agreed to pay the additional charges, but the explanation we got made us feel that we were getting price gouged. She claimed our 200 per person charge was to cover her 700 monthly water bill, even though we only stayed in 1 of her units for 2 nights.Overall, our interactions with Annie felt untrustworthy and left us feeling taken advantage of. The stress and confusion during our stay overshadowed the weekend. I hope that Annie improves her communication and transparency for future guests because it truly is a nice unit.
This is a great place to stay. the location is perfect and close to everything in Friday Harbor. we loved the outdoor deck. we were traveling as a family so having to go through the one bedroom for the bathroom was not an issue for us. the kitchen was well stocked and very large and usable. Very comfortable and had a "good vibe"!
We wanted to share this special island with our granddaughter as part of her High School Graduation Trip. This is one of our favorite places to stay on Friday Harbor, itâs a well kept secret! Itâs super clean, comfortable and convenient to everything!
Our stay was fine. We were disappointed that the listing mentioned TV and there was none. Kitchen was delightful. Bedrooms were fine although it would have been good to know that the one bathroom was off one of the bedrooms. Owner was quite responsive to our few requests. Parking great. Location great. Upholstered futon and cushions do not feel fresh.
The location of this is unbeatable, walkable from the ferry and close to restaurants, grocery and downtown.
The unit itself was very clean, everything worked. Good water pressure, and very functional kitchen. 2 beds, 1 full size and 1 queen, comfortable. Cool, eclectic interior leaning into antiques, which makes sense given the shop below. Tons of sitting space within, room for 6 or 7 people to hang out.
Note, the internet is about 10mbs so not blazing fast, and the TV is a 19" computer monitor, poor sound quality so don't expect a high end entertainment center. But, everything did work. I would stay here again!
We had a lovely stay for a long weekend in Annieâs room. The listing is 100% accurate. annd photos are true to life. You cannot beat the location to stay in Friday Harbor, everything you need is in walking distance. She is a delight to talk to (downstairs in her shop) and the entire process was smooth. We loved drinking coffee in the morning on the deck and opening doors and windows to let the harbor breeze in (as itâs an upstairs unit it could get warm on a hot day w/o AC but they donât seem to have many of those days!) We would love to come back for another stay!
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Description of Unit does not have air-conditioning - Fly Issue
Owner provided 2 box fans but it was extremely uncomfortable in the rooms. Unit should have mentioned that during summer months/warmer weather that unit does not have air conditioning. Unit should have mentioned 21 stairs to get inside. If the unit had screens on open windows and doors we would not have flies. The selection TV choices were poor and TV was very small. Would suggest owner invest in TV streaming cable choices and bigger size TV. Kathleen
Michael and Annie are longtime residents of Friday Harbor. We both have a history of commercial fishing in Alaska where we met in Sitka. Michael is from Massachusetts and Annie is the rare true Washingtonian who grew up in the Seattle area. Her family has been a part of the island since the 40's...Annie's interests are plein-aire painting, painting workshops, and furnishes Nichols Street Suites with her paintings. Michael is a long time musician who builds guitars in his spare time and is also fond motorcycles and Studebaker cars. We are avid antique lovers and have owned Funk & Junk Antiques for + 30 years. Our shop is below Nichols Street Suites and is a full service antique shop offering appraisals and estate services. We have one son Avery who is a chef on Orcas Island. He is also a fine musician. We are part of the larger Friday Harbor Community and love where we live! see us!
We offer a clean, family friendly, in town, facility for your vacation. We can accommodate up to 10 people in 2 unique suites. Children welcome. Sorry no pets. We have been in business for 15 years with thousands of satisfied clients from all over the world. We are at the antique store during business hours and can offer our tips and opinions about events and recommendations in Friday Harbor, and the answer to the most asked for question of all, "where should we go for dinner" French spoken as well.
