Nearby Skelton (1 mile) is home to the famous Michelin Dog and Gun pub, which provides a warm welcome and fantastic food and drink, whilst the market town of Penrith, 10 miles away, offers a wealth of independent shops to explore. Hire a boat or jump on a steamer to take in the breathtaking scenery in the pretty village of Pooley Bridge (11.5 miles), which sits on the banks of Ullswater.


Kick off your walking shoes in the utility/boot room that welcomes you into this traditional home-away-from-home, before retiring to the lovely en-suite king-size bedroom opposite to rest at the end of a busy day exploring the local trails. Upstairs, a charming lounge awaits, with a Smart TV, sofa, chair with footstool and a small table with two chairs. Upstairs you’ll also find three bedrooms, a super-king-size with Jack-and-Jill en-suite shower room, a king-size with lovely views over the garden and countryside beyond, and a cosy single benefiting from panoramic views of the Pennines.
